I decided to come to this veterinary clinic at the suggestion of my Farrier. I had previously had a…read morelot of bad experiences with a certain vet clinic in Castroville, in regard to their equine team. I was pleasantly surprised by this clinic! DVM David (I have forgotten his last name) took my appointment and worked with my hectic schedule. He offers mobile veterinary services, too, but luckily my horse cooperated with the trailer that day! He saw me immediately after I pulled into their side area (only place you can take a horse trailer). The gate is motion activated, so just pull close enough and you'll be able to drive in. I went to get my gelding's hocks injected, which they got done with utmost professionalism. Additionally, he told me that he wouldn't inject twice/leg, and explained that studies have shown it to no more effective than the one shot. This was a great tidbit of info, as the Alamo area vets said they do the double shot/hock and for a ridiculous price. This vet is HONEST, and not only does he speak with sincerity toward your animal but his actions back it UP. He called me personally, 2-3 days after my visit, to check on my horse. He CARES! I know not all vets are careless/heartless/money sucking buzzards, but it is refreshing to meet and have a great DVM in my corner. This clinic does large animals, but they also do small animals. Their office personnel are friendly and work hard to schedule you at your convenience. If you live in the viscosity, I 150% recommend this as your family's vet. P.s., sorry I had to slam Alamo area vet so much in this review, but it was such a significant difference in service and professionalism... that I could in no way give credit to this clinic without giving examples of another proximal clinic.
