My family used Tawny James for most of my life and in 2020 when…read moreI first used her she pushed me off on to a random accountant, told me she had too many clients to take my call but I could schedule for next year. This resulted in my PO Box used as my home address on my taxes. And 2 amendments, the 2nd being with a new accountant. Which my family kindly paid as an apology on behalf of Tawny since she wouldn't apologize herself. These amendments took so long that interests rates increased and I couldn't Refi- to remove my PMI so each month I pay $200 some odd dollars as a reminder of their errors. But it doesn't end there, the errors were so grand that it included my overpaying by $3125 to the state and IRS. Then, it confused the IRS that I was owed money and now they think I owe them more money for 2020 - thousands more actually, so today, in January of 2023 I've spent 3 hours on the phone with the IRS and it is STILL unresolved as they are investigating what happened on their end. It will work out in my favor but this is a headache nobody needs. Add in the cost of a new accountant to repair the damage and the time and effort it has taken me to resolve this over the last *2 years* the damages amount to THOUSANDS of dollars. Not to mention, all of this while I was having multiple surgeries between December 2020 and June 2022. If this is how long term clients children get treated, imagine if they don't know you. This business has grown to be too large to take care of people and from one tax payer on hold with the IRS for 2 tax seasons ago, to another tax payer, go elsewhere.
