As I write this review in May 2025, the hair cuts are $22. He prefers cash, but does accept card by the way. He did exactly what I wanted and I was very impressed. I wish I had something this easy and quick in Chicago as a barber option.

I'm extremely disappointed…read more Not with the haircut, the barber who worked on me did a solid job. No issue there. The problem is the blatant disrespect from other employees. Because of a shirt I was wearing, I was mocked in another language by people who clearly assumed I wouldn't understand them. That was their first mistake. For the record, I do understand multiple languages, and I knew exactly what was said. Making comments like that about a paying customer is unprofessional and pathetic. What made it worse was the reaction after I acknowledged it: no apology, no accountability, just silence and avoiding eye contact. That says everything. If I ran a business and my employees spoke about customers like that, they wouldn't be employed for long. It's that simple. I've paid good money here, always been respectful, and expected the same in return. Instead, I got cowardly behavior and disrespect. Because of that, I won't be back. Here's some advice: if you're going to talk about customers behind their backs, don't assume they're ignorant. And better yet, don't do it at all. Respect goes both ways. You failed at that.

They are good at scheduling. They gave both of us the haircuts we asked for. They noticed little details that many hair stylists/ barbers miss. Good fading between my beard to side burns and my sides to top. My favorite part - straight razor on the back of the neck. One interesting tidbit: quietest hair cut I've ever had and there were 4 people all getting their hair cut at the same time. So if you don't like small talk during your cut, this is the place for you. Good ambiance. They have toys for kids in case you need to bring your kid with you. Only comment and it doesn't affect my decision to come back here, is that when I saw Uplake BARBERshop, I thought it was going to be some older white goy who got sick of retirement or some hipster.
