The teachers and staff are super friendly, and you can just tell they really enjoy being around the students. They offered my daughter a free trial class, which I really appreciated because we could see if she enjoyed it before committing. The packages are for 4, 8, or 12 sessions, and if you go with 12 or more there's a small discount too, which is nice. The classes focus on hands-on art for K to 6th graders, but they also teach how to use different materials like watercolor, oil pastels, dry pastels, acrylics and more so it's not just simple crafts. They also have technique-focused classes for older kids, like around 4th grade and up, which sounds great for when my daughter gets older. My daughter has been attending Canvas Studio for about two months and has been loving it. She is still in lower elementary so she's more into fun projects and trying new materials right now, but maybe I'll sign her up for the technique classes too in a few years. The price is reasonable, and I love that they do different kinds of projects every week. Definitely a place I'd recommend to other parents!

A business with a big heart…read more My children started art classes in Jan 2020 in one of Fibo studios, Little Picasso (grade K-1) and Core level (grade 2-4) respectively, because of its convenient location and class availability for each of my children. We liked the studio in our area with friendly staff. They both enjoyed the classes even though I talked my older one into taking the classes so that I could have some alone time while they were both in the classes.LOL. My only concern at that time was how much art knowledge, material techniques and personal attention the classes at Fibo would offer to the children compared to a small art studio with a long waiting list. The Black Friday in March was the last in person class they had before the studio had to close following the closure of the schools state-wide. In a couple of days after the closure of the studio, I was amazed that Fibo rolled out great online art classes, free for all the Facebook fans. Like all other distance learning, I've learned so much about the curriculum, the talents and passion of the Fibo team as well as the struggle of a small business keeping serving the community during the unprecedented difficult time. Curriculum: It was truly an eye opening experience for me to learn about the design of the curriculum of Fibo through the online classes. It can't be done without the belief and vision of the owner, Miss Jasmine, about nurturing the artistic side of each child and showing the children that art (history) is a language of humankind. Through Fibo's art history series (introducing high school art history AP class with art projects to elementary students, alphabeta serie to primary students) and around the world serie, I've especially experienced art as a vehicle of nurturing children's knowledge, awareness and appreciation of the world (natural and social) around them, in addition to the creativity and grit. Through Fibo's reading series, book reading (primary)/discussion (upper graders elementary) accompanied with an art project is such an inspiring model for bringing art and academics together seamlessly. Through Fibo's daily draw and creativity series, basic art knowledge, including color theory, perspectives, rule of 3rd, composition, different material properties and techniques, is introduced in an enjoyable way with a lot of room for creativity. You can get a sense of most of the series by becoming a Fibo village Facebook member or subscribe to Fibo Kids Academy Youtube channel. You can find free class videos or 3-day rental of recordings at $5. Fibo team: I do not know Miss Jasmine personally except of a few message exchanges on Facebook group page and during a few adult online classes Fibo kindly offered to the parents back in July. Miss Jessica and Miss KC were teachers of my children's in-person classes. Irealized how talented they are both in art and as a teacher for various age groups until they taught the online classes. My children also love Miss Ashely and Miss Kiatlin who also teach many online classes. Miss Jasmine values the attention and feedbacks to each student and has specifically provided the platform for Core/Master students in online classes now. As a small business owner in a difficult time, she is also proactive and sincere to work with parents to provide the best possible services to suit all parties' needs. As a mother of two young children, she is a role model not only for the children but also for the adults. It's easy to sign kids up for various activities, but it's not easy to find a team of teachers with big hearts. We are so lucky to be part of the Fibo community and hope you will enjoy it as well!

My son and daughter have been taking piano lessons here for nearly a year. The setup at this studio…read moreis that parents wait outside in the waiting room while the children go in with the teacher. There are cameras in the lesson rooms, but parents do not have access to them, only the business owner does. Occasionally, I would sit in with my children, but later I was asked to remain in the waiting room as the teacher felt the kids distracted each other. Recently, a very concerning incident occurred. My son told me that during his lesson, his teacher showed him an image to demonstrate "good posture." When he first described it to me, I wasn't sure what kind of picture it was, and I initially gave the teacher the benefit of the doubt. However, when I later asked Miss Lee (the owner) and the teacher to show me the same image, I was shocked to see what it was. The picture had no real connection to piano playing or posture and, in my opinion, was completely inappropriate in the given context, especially considering it was shown to my son alone in a room with his male teacher. To be clear, the photo itself was not offensive on its own. What made this troubling was the context and lack of relevance to piano instruction. I felt it crossed a boundary of professionalism. I brought this issue directly to both the owner and the teacher on Friday, August 29th, and was told that it would be reviewed with their board. I am sharing this so that other parents are fully informed about the environment and practices here. Every parent has the right to decide what they are comfortable with for their child's lessons, and for me, this situation raised serious concerns.

To her the classes are fun and a way to gain knowledge of game specifics, but to me, the parent, they are so much more! With guidance from her Gamerunner teacher Edward, she's learned how to: strategize, which carries over into tackling assignments in high school and college classes; deal with group dynamics, which is helpful for class and work place projects AND real world situations; expand her creative side through developing characters for each campaign, which has significantly increased her writing skills; and be flexible, cooperate, and problem solve quickly without losing her patience or necessary healing potion, which just might save her or a party member's life some day. ;) Most importantly (to me) my daughter has overcome her social anxiety without pressure or prejudice through taking classes at Gamerunner. This new self confidence has allowed her to take more college courses, attend large conferences and workshops, make friends outside her immediate circle, and find her smile again. I highly recommend signing up your kids, or yourself, for a class at Gamerunner, especially if you are believer in Benjamin Franklin's philosophy of education: "Tell me and I forget. The founder, Karyn, her brother Kyle, and all of their amazing tutors continue to impress me with how incredible their teaching techniques are. What I love most is that they truly take the time to understand each child's individual learning needs. They offer one-on-one tutoring as well as small-group tutoring, making sure each child gets the attention and support they need to succeed. My girls have been coming to Ready Study Go for about four years now, and honestly, they have been a lifesaver! With my crazy work schedule, I don't know what I would have done without them. I truly believe my girls would not be where they are today academically without the support, encouragement, and guidance they have received from this amazing team. My daughters also attended their summer program for math and chemistry to make sure they were prepared for the next grade level. Karyn has an incredible ability to make learning fun, even during the summer, while keeping them engaged and excited to learn. My daughters have ADHD, so I especially appreciate how Karyn took the time to figure out what worked best for each of them and found creative ways to help them absorb and retain what they were learning. I've attached a few photos of one of their assignments, where Karyn made math fun, interesting, and hands-on by having them create a spooky town.
