They cut a small tree for my father and left all the bigger pieces on the lawn and told me it would be a week to pick them up now I sit here looking at the wood next door pathetic guys sat in there truck for over a hour after they where done! This is a bad company beware!!!! read more

I have been dealing with them for 14 years. I have a huge Ash tree which they treat for me every other year and they have always done the trimming on this tree. The service and quality of their work has always been exceptional. The prices are good for what they do. I highly recommend them. I tried to get limbs cut off my tree that were over my garage and near power lines. I called WE energies 4x's since I have lived here and I always got the run around from them and the limbs near the pole and over the garage had gotten out of hand. Affordable tree came out and they told me that they could do most of the work but leave the limb touching the wires. They just finished the job and as usual it was excellent work and what I was looking for them to do, they were able to do. Once again, I highly recommend them. In April we got an estimate for our tree to be trimmed. We thought we were on the same page with the Affordable Tree Care, as we wanted to keep as much of the tree as possible for shade. They came out June 16th and did the work after we left for the morning. They cut down the limbs we wanted to just be trimmed at the ends. Left dead wood on the tree and took out 5 limbs when we only wanted them cut back. When I asked the owner why they cut so much off the tree he said my husband told him to cut whatever they wanted to make it easier for them. My husband did not say that! Jeff told me I should be grateful they did more work then what we paid for. They did not follow what they put on the contract and just did what they wanted. I live in Mt. Pleasant, WI. read more

Don't use this place. First they took the wood from the tree they cut down, I requested they leave it. They then brought it back and tossed it in side yard, tree was cut in back yard. They also took out MOST of a stump and left all the shavings and piles behind saying I didn't specifically ask for it to be removed. They came back next day to get rid of it. Pull up and seems good until I get close and see big pieces of roots still left. I had to cut it out myself with a little electric chainsaw. Only good thing I can say about them is the tree that was cut was good and they didn't drop it on my shed. read more

They did a good job, but the jobsite manager soliciting a tip was rather off-putting.

We called for the estimate March 5th. No one came out until the 18th and they said it would be late spring by the time the tree came out. We said fine- we knew they'd be busy. The arborist came into the backyard and gave a fair estimate. Not the cheapest, but most property owners in Racine recommend them, so we went on the waiting list. They called us the day before- awesome. They said they'd be out between 8-9 the next day. Perfect! The trucks showed up at 7:45 and take a look at the back yard- I see the guy taking pictures- thinking it was for insurance purposes. Then they leave.... All of them. THEY LEFT THE BACK GATE OPEN... I have 2 dogs. The puppy almost sprinted out of the back yard. I'm so glad something told me I needed to go out with her at that very moment. An hour later another gentleman comes back to tell me parts of my fence had to come down. No where in the estimate stated that. Had it stated it, we would have arranged to have that taken care of. The gentleman was nice enough to take down the panel of the fence and not charge us. The guys came back after lunch and got to work. They were quick and got the mess cleaned up and they left. I went into the backyard only to find they completely trashed our backyard grass. They didn't use plywood like the estimate said they would. They literally drove the bobcat over brand new grass (that could clearly be seen). These weren't just divots. These were track marks from the bobcat completely down to dirt. All. Over. The. Yard. They also broke slats on our fence from the remote crane they needed to use in the neighbors yard. It took a week of fighting with the company for them to come out just to lay seed. No apologies, no taking responsibility. Their claim was "well, we are in a drought"- to which my husband explained to them that we water our backyard. Wherever the bobcat wasn't, the grass was still green. Seed was laid today.... An hour before a thunderstorm. read more

I would have given 5 stars for the work done. Cleaned up well. However, the office and owner are truly the rudest and most offensive unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. When I mailed in the confirmation to accept the estimate, it stated, payment must be received the day services are rendered. I was fairly sure I would not be able to take off work to be there for the removal of the tree; therefore, I mailed the check with the work confirmation. They came and removed the tree but never cash the check. A week after the tree was removed, I received a invoice with a balance due of $263.75. My husband called their office and explained that we mailed the check with the confirmation to have the work done. The girl stated that she "may have thrown it out". So I called the office asking for a $30 credit because their office lost my check and I am being charged by my bank a stop payment fee of $30. The girl then told me that people try to get their bill reduced by lying all the time and said that I was probably just trying to get my bill reduced. I explained that I could provide a copy of my bank statement with the fee for the stop payment, which will prove that I am not lying. And then she said that I probably never sent the check because there is no proof that I sent the check. I also told her I could send a picture of copy of the "carbon copy of the check". And she continued to tell me that customers are always lying to them. I am highly offended that the office girl would speak to me like that. Additionally, she said she would ask the owner if a credit could be provided. And I asked her if she could have the owner call me if he a credit would not be granted and with attitude she said "we'll see". The childishness I encountered on the phone with this company is unbelievable. I emailed the the company's e-mail on their website and recieved a response containing lies, refusing a credit and stating "If we do not receive complete payment by Tuesday September 13th then we will have not choice but to escalate things to the next level which would be a shame for both of us." This statement was totally unnecessary. I never expressed in the slightest that I would not pay for the services. I also need to add that Sept 13 is a Saturday and this email took place on Sept 18 so they needs to take a better look at the calendar. Furthermore, the the owner and office girls I have spoken with or emailed keep insisting that I give them my credit card and that I do not need to put a stop payment on the check that they lost, which is a huge red flag to me. read more

I have used Affordable Tree Care in the past for some difficult tree trimming. This time I purchased the lot south of me and had a large pine and an ash Tree removed. They did a fantastic job and unless you knew they were cutting that day you would never know they were there. Very clean, very efficient. read more

We have had Affordable Tree Care trim our bushes and trees on a number of occasions and have been very happy with the work they have provided and the professionalism of their company. The most recent trimming was July 2016. The workers were so polite, careful to get my feedback as to how I wanted the trees and shrubs to be pruned, and cleaned up after themselves when they were done. I was very worried about the die back in a top section of one of our Linden trees, but the man who pruned it also inspected it carefully and found no signs of disease or insects. He made a point to come to the door to let me know as soon as the trimming of that tree was done, because he knew I was concerned. We have also had trees fertilized in the past and have been very happy with the results. We will be using them again and would recommend. read more

Called for an Arborist to evaluate a tree, and estimate removal if necessary. I was told it would be at least 2 weeks before he could come out, no problem, the tree will be there. Came home last night and there was an estimate for removal and stump grinding but no word on the health of the tree. Called and asked to speak to the Arborist by name, Michelle told me he wasn't in the office. I asked if she would please give him my name and number for a call back to briefly discuss my tree. NOPE, no happening. Per Michelle, that won't be possible due to heavy work load. I asked if maybe a 5 minute call at the end of the day? NOPE, no happening. I asked for a supervisor/manager, NOPE, that is Michelle. This would not seem to be a problem except that there is an area on the prepared contract for findings and a signature, neither of which are there. I want his assessment of the tree, that is what I asked for. I didn't ask for Michelle to ask him and relay the info to me. Short and sweet, old tree, needs to go or old and diseased needs to go. Something for the Arborist. That is the whole reason I called this company, because they advertise a "certified Arborist." Just seems sketchy, nothing about the health of the tree, next day service, no signature on the proposed contract...and a rather unhelpful office Manager/Supervisor. I do see that others have had issues with the office staff. I may have to pass on this one... read more

Although it was sad to see the trees go, the professionalism of your staff was great - from the 1st call setting up the appt. for the estimate, to the quality of the estimate and information provided. We had a tree come down and take out a fence in our backyard. Affordable tree care promptly cut the tree and removed the brush for a great price. By request they cut the trunk in 18" sections for us and placed in a neat pile. The staff was a pleasure to work with. read more

Affordable Tree Care illegally make changes on the contract and sent it to the WI Consumer Protection Agency. They faded out the original contract and added things like dates, money amounts and 4 men 8 hrs 250per hour. It was so obvious that they made changes because the original contract was faded out and the changes were in dark ink and in different handwriting. When they finally met with me, they told me that they were there for 8 hrs. I assume that they needed to cover their tracks and took it upon themselves to add it to the contract. On the back of the fake contract they claimed that they met all terms and conditions of the contract, honoring it 100%. I guess they did honor everything on the fake contract but not on the real contract. What else would be the reason for changing the contract? I contacted them and asked them if they knew it was illegal to doctor a contract and their response was that they did not know what I was talking about. Being in business, you would think that they would know this is illegal. Here is their response: In regards to the copy she received along with other communication from us, that was just our internal notes that just exemplify the point that we were there for the estimated amount of time. We had 4 guys for 8+ hours not to mention all the additional number of hours our employees spent with the customer dealing with all of the issues. They forgot to mention that they faded out the original contract. Who fades out the original contract, writes on it, says that it's just internal notes and then sends it externally to the WI Consumer Protection Agency? If they did the job that they were suppose to, why would they need to change the contract? The faded part of the contract (without grammatical corrections) said Remove all tree's and stump's. We haul all debris. "Satisfaction Guaranteed." I went to the BBB where Affordable is an accredited company. I wasted a lot of time dealing with the BBB. The company still refused to meet with me so I went to the WI Consumer Protection Agency and that seems to get their attention. Finally after 2 months, they OWNER agreed to meet with me and it did not go well. He just started yelling at me for no reason. He claimed that they cleared out 30 extra stumps that would cost me an extra $600. What? Are they sure it wasn't 29? So instead of cleaning up after they were done, they were counting the extra stumps? How did they decide which were extra and which were included? What about the contract that says remove all stump's. I didn't even have 30 trees in my backyard and my backyard area is not that big. Prior to them coming, I also cleared out a lot of bushes and only saw one stump and that was part of the deal. So this comment has me stumped. He was also adamant that they did not have another job to go to after they were done. Later they claim that they had an "unscheduled" job to do later. Does it matter if it is scheduled (which I believe it was) or not, it is still another job to go to. They told me they had another job and they sure were in a hurry to leave the 2nd time that they came back. He did offer me money for 5 hours (5 X $ 20) of work but not because I did the work but because I was unsatisfied. I told him that I spent over 8 hours picking up after them. He then started yelling at me that he raked the yard. I told him that I was out there and he did not rake the yard. He then went ballistic saying I was "bashing" his company but in reality he was bashing his own company by his actions. He went into his truck and drove off. I told the person who came with him that he was "crazy" the way he was yelling. She claimed he just has a "loud" voice. That is very interesting because he didn't have a "loud" voice when I met with him for the estimate or when he picked up the logs. I know I would never have hired anyone who had yelled at me in his "loud voice" the way he did that day. The company still claim that they cleaned up everything. If it wasn't their mess, why did they remove the bags of debris in my garage or offer to spend an hour to clean up for compensation. I also have witnesses and pictures. It also cost me an extra $150 for the landscaping because the ground had sat there for over 2 months and it needed to be roto-tilled. I now check out wisconsin courts with both the company and the owner's name (I wish I had checked on this company), yelp, Angie's list, etc and if I see a complaint against them. I will not hire anyone who has one complaint against because I feel that they don't deal with complaints and I don't want to have to go through this again. read more

I would NEVER use this service, no matter how affordable it may be. Their driver cut me off so closely that I only missed ending up in the chipper by about a foot, and then had the audacity to flip ME off like it was my fault for being there. The next turn he took far too tight, jumped the curb, and nearly took out a street light. I was able to get the name/number from the side of the truck and called them to report what had just transpired. Days later when I received a call back from the company, Tony the driver did apologize for his driving. Unfortunately, I could tell I was on speaker phone and I could hear the female receptionist coaching him on what to say. I'm sure it was supposed to come-off as sincere, but it just barely passed as generic. I would rather spend an extra hundred dollars or so and do business with a company that has both common sense and basic business sense, both of which this company seems to severely lacking. read more

During the high winds my tree uprooted and was about to fall on my house. I remember seeing an ad in the paper for tree services and got the phone number from there and called them. They answered the phone promptly. It wasn't an answering service! Affordable recognized the urgency of the situation and offered to send a crew out right away. When they arrived they evaluated the situation quickly and came up with a plan then got to work. It was amazing to watch them they were a well oiled machine. They worked together and everyone knew what to do and the tree was brought down safely which was a relief. It was late into the evening and the sun was about to set so they came back the next morning to pick up the wood and do a final cleanup. I was VERY impressed and would use them again. I already recommended the company to my brother in law as he needed a tree trimmed. read more
