On 8/15/25 we hired Affordable Movers to help us load an ABF trailer that we had communicated would be taken across the country, specifically for help with an antique piano. They stated verbally to us and on their website they have experience doing so. The trailer arrived at the location on 8/29/25 and upon unloading it was discovered the piano had been broken. It was expressed to us by the company we utilized for unloading that the piano had not been packed properly which we also confirmed with a piano repair shop. I have waited to write a review with hopes that Mike would work with us to come to a solution. That is not the case and I am here to at least help other consumers. Affordable Movers is not a company I would trust nor recommend to anyone due to how I was treated during discussions as well as the lack of accountability. We asked for some sort of resolution, even just covering the fee for the estimate for repair which Mike flat out refused. Our two movers arrived on time and meticulously wrapped and loaded everything very nicely. They were very courteous and mindful that they were on the clock. We had "one and a half" trips in their 26-foot truck. Not a single Item was broken or scratched. It was raining during our move and the guys did a great job backing their ramp right into our garage, so our furniture and other items wouldn't get wet. Mike and Joe were absolutely amazing! This is our second time using them and we could not be happier. Hiring a locally owned company was very important to us, we had a nightmare move using a nationwide chain prior to this. Mike knows his stuff. Our belongings were packed with care and their experience showed in how they got everything in the truck. I used Mike and his company Affordable Movers to just load my U-Haul as me and my husband aren't physically able. We moved from Panama City to Alabama. When we got here and the movers here in Alabama started unloading my truck, they showed us that Affordable Movers had stacked our VERY heavy electric couch with recliners built in on top of my brand new nightstands. And they were completely broken beyond usability. Needless to say, I was furious! Since unpacking we have found several more things broken. Smaller things, but broken just the same. We had all our breakable delicate belongings wrapped extremely well in bubble wrap. So I have to believe these boxes were mishandled. You would've had to have been blind not to see all the "fragile, breakable & delicate" writing on these boxes. And also, to a lesser extent, but still very important to me, they took 2 quilts that I had packed in a special container out and used them in their dirty truck to cover some things. Normally this wouldn't be a huge deal but these quilts were very VERY important to me, thus, the special packaging. One was made by my mother. She died when I was 13 and I don't use this quilt. Ever! The other one was a quilt made by my sister and my moms 3 sisters as a wedding present and I don't use that quilt either. My point in bringing this up is that they didn't even ask me if they could use them or not. And it was obvious that they were in a special container for a reason. I immediately reached out to them for restitution as I was sure they were licensed, bonded and insured. But Mike said that the best he could do was send me $200. As we talked more, he then said he could only send $100 and that would be "out of the kindness of his heart". I still haven't received anything and it's been over a week since I contacted him. One more thing, when we were speaking on the phone, he said that we had signed paperwork releasing him from damage to certain things like particle board furniture? I guess? That was the only thing he mentioned as far as a liability agreement. Neither my husband nor I signed anything. He didn't present anything to be signed to either of us. He said he could send me a copy of what we signed. He did and it's not either of my husbands or my signature. He forged my husbands name. AND we weren't given any paperwork to keep for our records either. I see that Affordable Movers mainly gets good reviews but we weren't treated well by them at all. The reason we used them is that money was an issue and they're price was good. We had used them 6 months prior to this move to unload our uhaul into the apartment we were living in in Florida and nothing was damaged. Now since they had JUST dealt with the same belongings and furniture just 6 months prior, doesn't it stand to reason that they already knew how heavy that couch was? Use them at your own peril. That's all I can say. But I'm strongly considering taking them to small claims court and I'm DEFINITELY reporting them to the Panama City BBB. Plus I intend to give them this same review everywhere I can find them advertised on line. read more

I was dreading moving out of my house so repairs from Hurricane Michael damages could be made. Mike and Joe, however, made this a great experience. They worked quickly and efficiently and took great care with my older furniture. I will definitely use them to move my things from storage back into my house. read more
