Somehow I was convinced that it was indeed, a gateway drug and here I am three years later with a completely new perspective on marijuana and life even. Medical marijuana has genuinely increased my quality of life drastically. Both physically, treating and helping me to balance my pain (which is why I got my MMCard) and even emotionally/ mentally. I was really struggling with the pain and it was making me severely depressed. Medical marijuana changed my life. The marijuana doctor in Tempe is always very quick, kind and helpful. The experience can be pretty intimidating at first, but you can tell they take the job seriously and I appreciate that. Thank you Marijuana Doctors for your contributions to changing the world.

I wasn't comfortable with that... I offered to just pay it with my card, and their literal response was: "If you don't write your card number down, we have to charge you $10 extra." Sounds shady as hell, I just paid the $10 so my personal credit card information isn't on a random piece of paper with people I don't know. Go somewhere else that doesn't require you to leave personal information and allows you to pay for services rendered in a teacup al sense as most of not all businesses do. I've never heard of it.

I have worked with her to create a treatment plan for my mom who has Alzheimer's dementia and cancer. Having been a cardholder for years, I found Dr Burns far more knowledgable and helpful than the other doctors I've met with in years past and one a few days prior who charged more than her and knew seemingly nothing compared to her. Dr Burns seems to actually care and want to help. She listens. She takes the patient into account for the treatment plan and adjusts with input to find the optimal plan. I was recommended by a high level c-suite clinical executive with a major health system who had been referred by her dad's neurologist. I highly recommend Dr Burns.

My opioid pain medication dosage has been increasing in both frequency and strength. After tiring of opioid induced lethargy, I researched medical marijuana on sites as varied as medical journals, university libraries, and senior citizen resources. As a baby boomer, coming of age in the 1960s, I had smoked marijuana- just not in the past 50 years. After making the decision to try a more natural approach to pain management, the next task was to find the best evaluation center. Being a bit OCD, this included reading all the New Times ads, visiting the web sites, reading the Yelp reviews, and then calling my top three choices. What impressed me most about SMMEC was the initial professionalism. The first requirement was my medical records documenting my medical issues, and then SMMEC specific paperwork. They were clearly not interested in shuffling someone through the process without fully understanding their needs. When I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Burns for my examination and evaluation, my confidence in this medical practice was well-rewarded. Dr. Burns is the consummate medical professional. She spent an amazing amount of time reviewing my medical history (which is lengthy and complicated); and then educating me as to which marijuana strain would be most appropriate for me to use for my specific pain issues. She also provided me written suggestions to take to a dispensary so their would be no confusion. In many ways she reminds me of the traditional family doctor of my youth. I had the Center handle the submission of the State paperwork, and exactly one week after my appointment, my card arrived in the mail. I look forward to seeing Dr. Burns for other medical issues as appropriate, and of course - my annual renewal. This is a professional medical practice; the $150 fee was money well spent. My compliments to this 5 star plus group of professionals.
