I shopped around a bit before deciding with this company. They were the cheapest AND FASTEST! (I was told), so I went with them. Gary Covill is the owners name that does the work himself. Older gentleman seems very nice the first time he meets you. I noticed he was a bit tense, but I'm a small business owner. I understand what it's like these days especially after Covid. With all that being said I gave Gary Covill the benefit of the doubt and hired him for a fence. I gave him a 50% deposit after deciding what I wanted. Gary Covill told me two weeks. Two weeks goes by, I never heard from Gary Covill. I gave him another week before I called. Like I said I'm a small business owner. I get what it's like when things go wrong on another job, or you're just busy. Now it's week 3, I call Gary Covill he tells me one part isn't in, he's waiting on that. FIVE WEEKS go by still no word from Gary Covill. I call him again to check in. I'm trying to understand, but this man has money I gave him for work still not done. Gary had the worst attitude ever on this call. He tells me he's still waiting and he'll call me when he's ready. Now I started to feel bothered... WEEK 8 roles around! NO CALL from Gary!! At this point I'm looking into other companies, and figuring how I could get my money back from Gary Covill. Out of the blue WEEK 9 Gary Calls that he'll be there next week. At this point I waited 9 weeks from my scheduled 2 weeks for a fence, and I paid him already so I said come. Gary Covill shows up with two employees. They're on the rougher edge, but his employees were the nicest on the job site. Gary treated his worked like crap!!! If his employees are reading this go and get a boss you deserve. Gary definitely made his workers rush on my job. Gary cut corners of plans we had originally discussed when I first met him. The fence DID NOT come out looking like I paid for. Gary mixed cement in from of my home in the street, leaving a stained mess after he left. Sure the fence looks good! If I took a picture you'd wonder why am I complaining. However if you come over and pushed my fence, the amount it rocks shows how unsteady it is. POOR QUALITY!!! Also my fence might look level and you'd think Gary did a great job, but it's just my grass. From the ground to the bottom of the fence, it's a mess. Honestly SAVE YOUR MONEY. There's MANY MORE business that will give you the respect and quality for spending your money with them, let alone having them on your property. I understand "helping small businesses" but this small business run by a short tempered/old cranky chubby man is not the one you want to support. Go and get something your money is worth paying for, and the common curtesy you'd expect to have. Thanks for the "fence" Gary! After calling and scheduling an appointment the owner never showed up for the estimate. I figured he was a small business and gave him another shot. Five days later, there I am sitting waiting in my yard an hour after the scheduled appointment and still no one. He sounded sincere when he apologized and promised to com out again three days later at 8:30 am. 9am he was still not there. I called to get a groggy response, in which he exclaimed HE DID NOT FORGET, that he would be there in 45 mins. I guess getting out of bed was to much of a task. Upon arriving he asked my husband "what's your Mother looking for" my husband had to explain that I was his wife not his mother... Not to sure what that says about me... The estimate was WAY to high for what he was doing. In all honesty I think he over estimated hoping that we would find someone else because he is so over booked. I know... Sounds ridiculous. Gary and his crew finished my fence recently and did a great job. He showed up as promised and installed the fence as we had talked about. His price was very reasonable. It was not an easy fence to install, being on a slight incline and with many trees on the property line, but came out great. I would recommend him to anyone. Hired by the neighbors behind me to replace their wooden stockade fence with a vinyl fence. One of the posts on my fence was in the way, so they told me they were going to take it down. Silly me assumed they would come over to replace it when done. Ha, 3 weeks and as many phone calls later, I am still waiting. Terrible attitude and temper, actually told me to have my husband fix it. The owner Gary comes out to your home to view the fence job. He writes up a "cheap" quote undercutting all the other companies then never schedules the job for you. He does answer his phone but keeps giving excuses as to why he will not schedule a date. Its ridiculous and such poor business practice. He seems nice enough to your face but truly frustrating and highly suspect that he does not do the work after months of calling him to request a date for installation. He is either incompetent, a bull crapper or a con-artist or a mix of all. Why not tell your customer that you have taken on too much business or your crew was fired or you just can't fit the job in - in a timely manner? Isn't the truth easier than constantly lying to your customer? That's why people write reviews like this- to warn others of how poorly you operate.
