Our truck's transmission went out right when we arrived on vacation. Dunfee's opened their office…read morefor us and gave us the best experience ever. The car was clean and drove well. We didn't know how long we would need the car. They were so gracious to let us use it longer than we expected. They even made the return super easy. We highly recommend their auto rentals. Super great people.

I've just had the worst car rental experience of my life, and I travel a lot. If you rent from this…read morecompany and you have problems, be prepared for them to downplay them or deny they exist. They charged me $120 Per Day...Total was about $550 for 4 days. I thought for that price I surely would be getting a newer vehicle. NO... They gave me a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with over 140,000 miles on it for $120 per day!! First Problem: The first time I drove it, I had to call them because the key fob wouldn't open the door. The woman who owns the business told me how to open the fob (not easy to do with nails) to expose a hidden key. Problem was that whenever you did that, the panic alarm went off and you had to start the car to silence it. Not a good thing in early morning or late at night to wake your campground neighbors with the car horn blasting the alarm, so I had to keep that in mind every time I wanted to open the car doors. Second Problem: I had saved the last day of the rental as a shopping day to pickup souvenirs and a few groceries. When I started to drive, the transmission wouldn't shift into the higher gears. I pulled off the road, turned off the car and let it sit for a couple minutes and tried again. Same thing happened. I didn't want to cause damage to the car, so I abandoned my trip and called the business owner again. I told her about the problem and she said she would call her husband. Later she called back to say that he was busy at his other job and they wouldn't be able to come look at the car until later that night. I guess there must be only the two of them servicing their rental customers. By the time they arrived around 7pm, my rental time was over and my day's plans were blown. The husband kept playing with the remote until it finally worked a couple of times but not consistently. Then he got in the car and floored it in the campground even though they have a 5 mph speed limit because of children playing. He didn't seem to care. Then he did the same thing on the road in front of the campground, brought the car back and said there was nothing wrong with it. There was no apology or even recognition of the fact that I had experienced a problem earlier that day. With a car this old, some problems are intermittent until they fail completely. There was certainly no offer to try to make the situation right... extend the rental by a day, offer money back because of the issue, NOTHING. After chatting with the wife, I learned that they both have other full time jobs and the rental business is just a part time side business for them. She manages a doctors office and he sells cars. Lesson learned for me...Always go with a reputable, well-known company who stands behind the products they rent. I know if I had chosen one of them that this wouldn't have ruined our last day of vacation. Everything is so expensive these days that you want to make sure you get what you pay for. I certainly did not with this company.
