This rental business only gets stars for their friendliness and courteousness. They are nice people. But they run a junkyard and those are the cars you rent from them. Very bad cars. I'm surprised ours got us up to Clingman's Dome. 2006 van with 160,000 and moldy on the inside. I'd much rather pay Enterprise for a new car rental. read more

My personal SUV Had a small mechanical failure and the Shop I took it to recommended this place since they could not repair my SUV until the next day and I was on vacation. First let me say I totally admire and respect them for there business savvy. Now this is NOT a place you wanna rent a car from if your primary concern is overall looks of what you drive. The car which they gave us reminded me of an accident recovery vehicle or on that had been junked and rebuilt (Traction control not working) But it looked like a nice used car and it ran and ran very well! I rather drive something that i know will get me to my destination then something that looks totally new but is going to leave me on the side of the road half way there...you feel me? The cost to rent the vehicle was around $60 for a 24 hr period and it was well worth the price and far cheaper then let's say Enterprise or Budget. They even gave us a convertible and the top did work! however I primary focus was trying to continue or vacation. Check-in was normal paper work, photo copy of license etc. Check-out...WAS A BREEZE! unlike your bigger rental car places it was like giving the keys back to a buddy after borrowing there ride less than 3 minutes whoo-hoo beat that! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking to rent a safe, reliable, cheap car especially if you wanna save cash... These Guys are great! read more

This place was absolutely horrific. All of the cars had over a hundred fifty thousand miles most over two hundred fifty thousand. It was very evident the owners were on meth with their rotting teeth (the ones that were left) and were lying about how good the cars were. While we were in line a man who had a very odd look on his face told us that he was a costumer and that his third car in a week from here had broken down, saying we need to get out of there as quickly as possible. We ended up sneaking out as soon as we got out of their eye site and made a run for it. read more

So it's not enough that they have a two day minimum rental period and a $10 a day charge for long distance travel or that they gave us a Ford Taurus with 256,000 miles. On top of that the car got a flat tire after one hour. Jack was so rusted couldn't even jack up the car. On top of that they told us they weren't going to charge us and guess what they still charged us and won't return our calls to rectify the situation. You decide whether it's worth the the "cheap rate" I hope this company rectifies their mistake. read more

If you need a rental car, don't mind not driving the latest models, and want to pay half of what the big name rental stores charge this is the place to go to. Check-in is a breeze. Show the driver's license and insurance card for each person that may be driving, sign two places on the contract, get the keys and you are done. No reams of paperwork to fill out or push to buy additional insurance. The gas tank will not be full and you do not have to bring it back with a full tank. There only has to be enough gas to get the next renter to the gas station which is nearby. I needed to rent a car for one day. Hertz and Enterprise cost around $90 for an intermediate size car. I paid $43 for 24 hours rental and got a Chrysler Pacifica which can carry 7 people. The car had high mileage, but looked and ran good. It had dual a/c controls for the front passengers and rear a/c controls too. Front seats were electrically adjustable. The radio did not work - big deal. I was not renting it to listen to the radio anyway. Windows were also electric and they worked too. It rained during the day so I had a chance to use the wipers - no issues here either. I had the car for about 12 hours, turning it in on the same day around 9pm. There is someone on-site 24/7 which is better than the national rental companies who close around 7pm and open around 7am. Drop-off was just a matter of handing over the keys. I can't imagine it getting any simpler than this. If I ever need to rent a car while in the area again, I know where I will be going.....Affordable Used Car Rental! read more

This place is a nightmare. The cars are disgusting and the place is even worse. I went there to rent a car and the place was beaten up. There was a torn up sofa in the corner and the walls were peeling off of the framing. There was also a pretty aggressive looking dog roaming around the building. However, I will give them credit for being so nice and friendly. The people in this area are generally very nice and this place was no exception. But for now, if your renting a car in this area, there's a much nicer Enterprise rent-a-car that I would totally recommend over this. read more

I rented a car from Affordable Car Rental. They charged me the same rate as all the named brand rental companies charged for a new car. The gave me a 12 year old used car with 213,000+ miles. The brakes were bad (pulsated), the A/C only worked part time the tires were badly worn and the car smelled bad. I returned the car by 8AM and they charged me for the entire day. I asked them for compensation for the bad car and the extra days fee and they said "sorry there is nothing we can do". DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. read more
