One of the top priorities for us immediately after closing was choosing the window treatments and real wood shutters was my top choice. However I was very concerned about the total price of the shutters for such a huge house we had as well as how to pick the best vendor who can do very high quality work. While doing my extensive research, I came across Castleberry Shutters. Apart from getting quotes from really big home improvement stores, I thought I will atleast get a quote from them. I met with Tim Castleberry and immediately within 15 minutes of meeting, talking to him and seeing the samples he showed to us, I knew I will be in right hands by working with them. These guys have been in business for really long time and they are local Atlanta company and manufacture their own shutters. I felt that they really cared about the quality since they were not typical third party resellers and since it was their family own business, they offered the best value for money. The best part is - Tim not only offered me an excellent price but also told me that they offer lifetime warranty which means anything happens to any of the shutters they will fix / replace it for free. I felt thats really huge. With leap of faith, I ordered shutters for my entire home and requested him to deliver on time within few days of my closing. We stayed in touch and I told him my closing date few weeks before closing and he said they are right on time. The day after I closed their staff set up a time to come and install my shutters. Their installers came on time and did an outstanding clean job installing my already looking awesome shutters. The whole look and feel of my home changed 360 degrees after shutters were installed. All my neighbors gave us compliments on this new addition to our home. My initial apprehension to hire a non branded big company for fairly large investment on this part of home upgrade soon turned into one of my best decisions so far I made while building my new home. We absolutely love their work and recommend them to all our family and friends. BTW within few days they sent a follow up warranty person to make sure to touch up every small little scratch the shutters may have developed while manufacture/ installation. That was the icing on the top! We had six windows to replace…read more(which met their minimum) and the owner Eugeniy responded to my Yelp request quickly, scheduled my consultation for the same week, and was responsive through every step. The sales person Charlie met with me and took the appropriate measurements, was respectful of my time, and gave us plenty of options. Their professionalism was what sold me on the company--they were not trying to upsell me, or overcharge like other companies would (one other company gave us a 3 hour sales pitch and quoted 20k for the same six windows). Universal gave us a reasonable price and didn't take up unnecessary time. Eugeniy personally ordered the windows to the custom measurements, and when they arrived he brought one to store so that it wouldn't be damaged in transit. He had recommended that we install a new window in our exit door and it was the right call--that entire area looks much improved! The installers were prompt, professional, and the end result was clean, precise, and expertly done. Eugeniy himself came to check the quality of their work and made sure it was done to his standard before receiving the final payment. It is difficult to know who to trust with these projects--if you're looking for knowledgeable professionals who will meet your budgetary and time constraints, with great communication this is the company you want to go with. He proceeds to get nasty with me, tells me, "I likes getting a check so if your wife will be there then I'm going to cancel the appointment" and he hung up on me. I was dumbfounded. But what he didn't realize is that I had the phone on speaker due to the fact I was taking my Wife to the airport. My wife and my Aunt heard every word he said and they were just as dumbfounded. Pinnacle really screen who they have calling and setting up appointments because this call was totally unprofessional. Well, there are Plenty of great window companies to replace my 23 windows. When it became air conditioning season again I thought there was a problem with the HVAC exterior plumbing. I called Nelson, spoke with Lassito, the General Manager, and asked him to come out and take a look. It turned out to be a "non problem", I was mistaken on the function, "Operator Error" on my part. It was reassuring to know that if I had a problem I could simply make a call and someone from Nelson would be out to look at the issue. I was impressed that they would care about their work enough to send someone out to inspect. How often does that happen nowadays? Going back to my original review, I had a great experience with Nelson Exteriors, from Jake, my salesman, Lyndsey and Lisa in the office to Jeff, the Project Manager for the renovations. They were prompt, courteous and had "can do" attitudes. They explained the process and followed through even with weather issues we encountered. I had rotted wood replacement, siding replacement, new gutters and complete painting. The attention to detail and quality of the work was outstanding. We…read morejust received our gas bill for the first full month after the window installation and it is $75 less than the previous month's bill. Also, during the month of February we also switched from an electric stove to a gas stove so that added to our gas usage and we still saved $75 the very first month. Our electric bill was also a good bit lower. It will be interesting to see our electricity savings this summer when the a/c is on. When you compare the 4.034 therms per day prior to the new windows being installed to 1.838 therms per day after, you can see that we are now using less than half the gas therms, even with now cooking with gas instead of electric. Even with this savings, it will still take many years to recoup the cost of the window purchase BUT the comfort of not having a drafty house is also a huge benefit to my family. The other thing that we have noticed is that the road noise is significantly less. We live on a four lane divided highway with lots of traffic. Other than the loudest mufflers and big trucks we no longer hear the majority of the traffic unless the roads are wet and even then it is subdued from the previous level with single pane windows. The team at Atlanta Area Windows and Door were great from Mark to Walt to the installers. It was a seamless operation. I would highly recommend their company.

I have used Atlanta Area Window & Door 2 times for front door installation at two different…read moreproperty locations. The first time, I'd give them a 5 star. But the second time, I'm giving them a 3 star. I don't have much to say about the first experience since I thought that they did a great job that I hired them for the second job. However, the second job was riddled with issues and heartache. I shopped for quotes from different companies and I awarded the job to Mark and his team. The reason I award the job to Mark is not due to the price but due to the thoughtful and experienced comments he made and when he addressed my questions. I thought that this guy was someone who care and was not in the job just for the money. However, Mark is not the one that actually does the door install. He had a different team install the door and that would be fine as long as there were no issues with the door install. But there were issues. The installation team are great people - someone you could grab a beer with and chat. But they lacked the problem solving and attitude of someone who owned their own business. Issue #1: After the door was installed, the door did not close well. I had to push extra hard to get the door to shut. I asked the installer if there is something he can do to fix that. He did what he can on installation day (took an entire day to install and they worked past 5pm) and had to come back on a different day. On the second day, they made some changes to the door sweep. This made the door close better. However, this created an issue with a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. While walking outside at night, I saw streams of light shining from under the front door. This allowed insects to enter my house. I brought this to Mark's attention and asked him not to send the same crew to fix the issue because the installation guy had already told me that he did everything he can. Mark was able to ask another guy to come and fix the issue. The new guy showed up and fixed the issue within 30 mins or less. This guy owned his own door installation business and does the door install himself. During the whole ordeal, Mark showed up on day one to supervise and ensure everything was on track but he did not attempt to remedy the work himself. Issue #2: I paid the original door installers $xx (i forgot the amount) in cash to install a nest doorbell. The doorbell was installed but did not work because a transformer was required and they do not install transformers. I had to pay a separate guy to install the transformer. In hindsight, I would should have paid a separate guy to install doorbell who can also install a transformer if needed. This was probably my fault but I felt like I paid for something that didn't solve my problem. Issue #3: 1-2 months after the door was installed, i noticed that pads at the foot of the door had ripped. I asked Mark to fix and his response was that he would send some pads in the mail for me to fix myself. It's been a month and I haven't seen any pads in my mailbox. I paid almost $6K for doorframe and door (which i still have to paint myself). For this amount of money I was expecting a better streamlined, worry-free experience.
