She had her car serviced there while it was still under warranty but they were going to charge her an arm and a leg. She stopped here after a friend of hers also had work done at Sawyers. Rodney, the new owner of Sawyers gave my aunt a far more reasonable price than Mangino's. While waiting for the part to come in I called from Maryland and asked if I could take care of the bill. He was more than accommodating and an absolute pleasure to talk to. When my aunt had to drop the car off for service they drove her home and then picked her up when it was ready. Rodney called after the work was done and I paid over the phone. My aunt was super thrilled with his and his team's friendly and honest customer service. As was I. My family has been bringing our cars there for years for everything from an oil change or an inspection to more substantial projects. Never once have we been encouraged to get any repairs or other service that we don't need. Just a few weeks ago, my car was squeaking when I used the brakes, so I brought it in to Johnson's. They told me that they breaks were beginning to wear, but that they would be fine for another month or two, so there was no immediate hurry to make the repair. Another place would not only replace the brake pads, but might also try to sell never rotors or something else completely unnecessary. Like finding a good barber shop, it can be hard to find a mechanic you trust. Well, I haven't found the barber shop and I've got the pony tail to prove it, but I do have the mechanic. Even if I'm off 200 miles away, if it's possible, I always wait until I'm back in Gloversville to have my car serviced at Johnson's. You should, too, you'll be glad you did.

Mark has 1. kept it on the road and 2. always been very fair and honest in all my experiences. He's also very polite and personable as well, which unfortunately seems to be a rare trait in this industry. One thing I particularly like is that he has been happy to explain / show / teach about the different parts involved and their issues. This way, not only do I come away a little bit more equipped w/ car knowledge, but I also come away with the priceless confidence and peace that I'm not getting ripped off. There have been several times where he's alerted me to issues, but said they aren't critical and probably don't need fixing - something the average unscrupulous mechanic, who cares more about a buck than the customer, would never say. As I said before honesty seems to be rare in this field, so now that I've found someone I can trust, I'm thankfully sticking with him. The prices have always been reasonable too.
