Dates of visit: August 7 + August 14, 2025 It never fails that a visit to the dermatologist is always something you schedule months in advance, which is always so odd to me considering that all of my derm appointments tend to be less 30 minutes or less. What is everyone else doing that takes so long!? At any rate, I really appreciated that I could use their text service to make an appointment; I spend a lot of my time in meetings and calls so finding uninterrupted time to make these kinds of requests can be tricky sometimes. Making matters worse was that I was traveling while trying to get an appointment for a spot on my face, making this service wonderful for me. Within seconds I was told that I had a cyst and we not only talked through options for removal, it was done then and there! I had to go back in a week to take out the sutures and that appointment actually took longer than the removal. I also got a call in-between appointments advising the status of the cyst, too, which I appreciated. Really the only issue I had was the intense bruising that occurred on my face that I wasn't warned about--it was so bad I was telling people that I may or may not be in a secret fight club! The nurse at the suture removal appointment seemed surprised by the bruising but didn't speak to it and it wasn't on the post-care sheet I received, either. read more

I am a very demanding patient, and at 73 years of age, I have multiple health issues. Suffering from both facial and ocular Rosacea, treatment is complex. In addition, I have had three Mohs surgeries for skin cancer. Thus, I am aware of what makes a good dermatologist, and what constitutes good medical care. I receive unsolicited phone calls and messages inquiring about my health from Affiliated compared to the countless hours on hold I wasted at other medical institutions. Affiliated and Dr. James Russell have been vigilant, caring, and intellectual about my conditions. They have gone beyond the mean to find pharmacies that carry the medicines I need in this time of short supply. (Three wholesale drug companies control the market, and manufacturers are having a difficult time competing with the companies producing pharmaceuticals in India and China who sell cheap and cut corners. With production restricted by price, the supply cannot keep up with the demand) Affiliated Dermatology has the patient in mind and cares about their customer. Dr. Russell is bright and was educated at some of the best institutions in this country. I have confidence in my care at Affiliated Dermatology. I fear the negative reviews are myopic and self serving. My experience continues to be fantastic. read more

The skin and laser center is unsatisfactory. I went in for a consultation and it was the laziest, most unprofessional experience I have ever had. The lady was very rude. I came in for a facial peel consol and she didnt even look at my skin but kept commenting in all the different peel types?? Isnt that why I came in, to get a consol on yr products, what you suggest and why?? She couldnt sell the procedures - I had to her about everything - she had zero suggestions. Then she talked about her skin and her life as a person who uses peels?? So cheap and unprofessional. Actually laughable - I would never let this person touch my skin. She was about 35. I saw Dr. Schuckit after dealing with my issues for a year, and he was Amazing!! Very caring, very knowledgeable, and supportive. Dr. Schuckit listened to all of my questions and concerns and he gave me several options for treatment. After discussing all of the options we chose a first step together, and I was able to get in within a couple of days from my initial appointment. Never again. I've had a great experience with the doctors and PA's here. However, I've been a patient for over a decade and time and time again I can't believe how rude and condescending the office staff are. One time I simply called to ask if there was an appointment available within the next month or so and I was laughed at and told very condescendingly "no of course not" this is a "specialty" clinic and they're in "very high demand". More recently, I had two moles removed per the doctor's recommendation. I asked the front desk twice and the doctor once and I was assured that it was covered and there was nothing else that I needed to do. Over a month later I got a $170 bill from the lab where they sent the biopsies. When I called Affiliated Derm the lady in the billing department was so rude and condescending and kept trying to explain to me how insurance worked. I told her I'm very well aware of how insurance works and asked what I could have done differently so that someone could have told me about this bill in advance. She said she had no idea how that works. The BILLING department has no idea how clients can find out if they're going to be billed. read more

Look for yourself, the owner only responds to 5 star reviews because they know they are deserving of and can't defend the 1 star reviews. My first visit was a great experience. Dr. Stokes and staff made me feel welcome. I have SLE Lupus and it is important to me to see doctors who are knowledgeable with my illness. I carefully research and hand picked all my doctors so everyone can be on the same page working together to make the right decision to avoid causing a flare up with the Lupus. Dr. Stokes was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. I have been suffering with pain and the medicine she prescribed is working. Since leaving my initial review, the front desk staff at the Brookfield clinic have really improved. The clinic leadership expressed concern towards the front desk's behavior and I appreciate their desire to address the issues. I want to reiterate that the quality of care in both the cosmetic & laser center and at the clinic have always been outstanding. I have a history of acne and my skin looks better than ever. I've been back several times recently for chemical peels. Lizzy and Amy do a wonderful job performing the procedure and explaining pre- and post- procedure care. The cosmetic center has a decent selection of products for post procedure care but the staff don't pressure you to buy them like many cosmetic centers. They also offer small samples so you can try the product before purchasing a large quantity, which has been very helpful to find the right products for my skin. Many people on Yelp reported issues with billing, thus far I have not experienced any problems. Overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic to those looking for a new dermatologist. read more

Made an appointment for a skin check after finding a suspect looking tiny mole. My cousin sees Dr. Ruggeri and raves about her level of care, knowledge and expertise. Making an appointment was so easy! The receptionist was friendly and so pleasant--the prior reviews must have been well addressed because I had a great experience both on the phone and in the office. Dr. Ruggeri was booking out months ahead, so I took an appointment with a PA within days of calling to book! The clinic clean, welcoming and friendly. I like how it's dimly lit in the reception area. I was called back within minutes and seen by the the nurse and PA so promptly. The friendliness and warmth of both the nurse and PA Lauren was outstanding. She answered all of my questions, spent time with me, removed the suspect mole and did all of that so painlessly! I highly recommend Affiliated Dermatology and their staff. Each visit I have it's always a great experience. For most doctor's offices I feel that I never get in on time, but I'm always promptly taken back when it's my appointment. The front desk was helpful. The Dr I had was able to tell me what the skin issue I have with my hands and feet. Its the first doctor from many practices that was able to identify it and tell me it was a genetic thing, which was helpful. I would recommend. read more

Like most other reviewers I am saddened to have to right a negative review. I really enjoyed being a long term patient of Dr Straka, but the frontdesk/ support is terrible. I recently switched to a high deductible health plan, so I am on the hook for my appointment 100% until I reach my deductible. When I called to find out how much my appointment will cost me I was told by the receptionist that I wouldn't know the cost until after the appointment. That didn't sound right, because I pay the full price no matter what. When I asked again and explained my situation, I was told that it would probably be around $150 to $260 dollars. That's a $110 difference. I even told the receptionist exactly why I was coming in, but still she wouldn't budge. When I asked to speak to someone else or to someone in billing I was told they wouldn't know and she wouldn't even transfer my call. Seriously! The billing department wouldn't know! At that point I just cancelled my appointment and she could care less. So apparently, they would rather lose a long term patient than take the 5 minutes needed to find out the answer to what should be really simple question. read more

Save yourself some money and frustration and go elsewhere. Horrible experience. Staff will offer zero help or guidance to new patients, especially at the front desk, but this extends to the billing dept. as well. However, the excuses they give you as to why they are so uninformed about the place they work will be plentiful. Expect frequent, incredibly high bills and extremely rude staff when you call to get answers. Also, do not believe it when they offer a complimentary service, because they are also uneducated about the definition of that word. Will never be going here again and look forward to referring my friends and family in the area elsewhere. read more

I called to make an appointment with the Waukesha office May 23 3016 since I have new insurance and haven't received my new insurance cards yet, I went off on what the new insurance representative gave me for in network providers. Affiliated Dermatologists are on the list. When I called to make the appointment and explained I haven't received my insurance card yet, that the insurance company said that this office was in network, this ratcheted sounding rude woman on the phone wouldn't make an appointment for me until she knew it said "SE" on my insurance card even though I explained I hadn't received it yet. So I called the insurance company back and they said that "SE" meant Southeastern and that is why they gave me the list of Dermatology offices I could go to and told me if this is the way I was treated to go elsewhere which I am!!!! read more

I had a very bad billing experience here. After I received my bill from AD and paid it off, I later received an additional bill from an external company weeks later that I hadn't budgeted for. No one at AD made me aware that another company would be involved and that I would get a later bill from them. I wrote a respectful letter to AD explaining that no one made me aware of the additional bill that would come or why all of my info would be sent to an external company. No one ever replied in writing as I had asked, and the bill kept coming - eventually with the threat of collections. Just a horrible experience with an office that doesn't seem to care about communicating with its loyal customers about billing confusion and questions. read more

Dr. Shuckitt is amazing and probably the best dermatologist that I have ever had. However, I am disappointed in the front desk staff who NEVER know what they're doing. Also, scheduling an appointment is so hard to do. Every time I call the representatives are "busy" I find it very hard to believe that all of the representatives are on the phone every minute of the day. I dont really have all day to sit and wait on the phone for a long period of time when I have a full time job... Either hire people who can work faster on the phones or figure out a different way for patients to book appointments because I cant wait 5 hours on the phone to book one appointment. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Schuckit at Affliated Dermatologists for more than a year and a half now and I have always had positive experiences with the staff and his services. I have had multiple issues with acne, allergies, hives and an abscess that needed immediate medical attention. Dr. Schuckit is very professional and has always been correct with diagnoses when it came down to treatment to resolve my issues. I have my usual 6 month checkups for keeping up with medication care to see if it needs changing, yet every couple months an emergency comes up and I literally am able to see Dr. Schuckit within hours of placing the call to the office. I highly recommend Dr. Schuckit and his staff at any location. read more

I took my son to Dr. Klevens to treat a couple of small warts on his hands. We had tried over the counter stuff with no success. Two visits left us with a bill of $550, and the warts still didn't go away completely! When I called to question the bill, the biller was pretty rude and told me that was the normal and customary charge. I asked if I could speak with Dr. Klevens about it, because I couldn't believe they meant to charge that much for a five-minute office visits. The biller called me back a couple of days later to tell me that Dr. Klevens had confirmed that was how much I was supposed to pay. Maybe I expect too much, but it's important to me that my doctors care about the well-being of their patients ahead of profits. We are no longer her patients. An ice cube and carefully-applied soldering iron took care of the warts that she couldn't get rid of. read more

But the receptionist that I tried to make an appointment was extremely rude and condescending. Her tone of voice was not friendly at all. I ended up being so mad and not making an appointment at all. I am a busy mother of 3. A few years back, I missed a couple appointments with Dr. Stokes. Because of this, she has banned me from seeing any of the doctors at the entire clinic. At the time, I was working full time, going to school full time, and helping raise severely autistic twins. So, my mind and schedule were full, and yes I missed a couple appointments. I was not behind on any payments, nor were there any other problems or issues. My primary care recommended this clinic to me again recently, and I was told that I was still unable to see any of their doctors. I think that this is a bit much. Dr Stokes is a good doctor but obviously lacks empathy. I would not step foot in this clinic if I was paid to go there. read more

Absolutely miserable experience with this Doctor's office. Dr. Steven Schuckitt was most unhelpful during my appointment in April 2016- informing me my rash could be one or two different things. I asked him for an natural treatment as I did not want to take drugs for two different things since he could not figure out which it was. He declined. Then months later I get a bill which no one explained to my that my insurance would not cover. How am I getting bills for a non-diagnosis? It has been almost a year now and I have spent multiple, multiple hours trying to resolve this with the doctors office, to no avail. Dr Schuckitt refuses to return my calls. This has now moved to collections and dropped my credit score by 150 points. I again called to speak with them regarding this and was only met with rudeness and animosity. Absolute waste of everyone's time and I wish I had never visited. I would have received more courteous and accurate service on Web MD. Or perhaps from a Dentist. Or a Chiropractor. I am so glad that I found Affiliated Dermatologists! After a couple of very poor experiences with Great Lakes Dermatology in Mt. Pleasant/Racine for removal of a pre-cancerous spot, I decided to seek treatment elsewhere which is what led me to Affiliated. I was given an appointment in the Germantown office with Dr. Fleming. I had some anxiety going into the appointment given my previous experiences with Great Lakes. However, that anxiety was quickly relieved upon meeting Dr. Fleming. He explained everything with kindness and respect, answered my questions (asked many, as well), and addressed all of my concerns. Dr. Fleming has a good sense of humor and a very kind manner. He's also smart as a whip! I like that he not only practices but also conducts independent research. A few days after the treatment, I had a concern about the wound so I contacted Affiliated again. The office staff took a message so a nurse could call me back; which one did within about 15 minutes of my initial call. Now that's a speedy response! She then scheduled a same day appointment so the wound could be checked by a nurse or doctor. I arrived a few minutes early and they saw me even before my scheduled time. Both a nurse and Dr. Straka conducted the exam which was thorough; they too addressed all of my concerns. Dr. Straka was very friendly, kind, and informative. Overall, I could not be more pleased about my experiences at Affiliated Dermatologists and that they have such a compassionate, smart, and respectful medical team! From those in the call center who initially answer the phones, to the office/reception staff, the nurses, and the doctors...excellent patient care and service! read more

I cannot say much but wanted it to be noted: it is a minimum of 6 weeks out for a new patient, and after being put on hold on the phone for 10 minutes, I was disconnected and had to redial in and wait another 10 minutes. It doesn't describe my experience with the doctors, but left a bad taste in my mouth. So much for patient satisfaction. Good luck setting up an appointment with them. It's unfortunate I have to write this, because we absolutely love Dr. Straka, but his office staff have caused me to drop him as a doctor. I recently made an appointment for my daughter, who is a college student and has a tight schedule. The soonest available appointment (for current patients) was two months out. The receptionist I spoke with said she would schedule the appointment and have the nurse call me to see if they could squeeze me in sooner. After having tried several times to get in sooner (not their fault, it just didn't work with her school schedule), we decided we would just keep the original appointment. When she showed up, they had no record of her appointment. Instead of attempting to rectify the situation, the woman I spoke with told me I simply had not scheduled the appointment - not a possibility that they forgot to put it in the computer, not a possibility that it was their error, no apologies. The only possibility was that I never scheduled an appointment. Attempted to blame me. Horrible customer service and I am extremely tolerant of mistakes, had there been so much as an apology. Drove 45 minutes and waited two months for nothing. read more

I have never met with a more condescending attitude than when speaking to the secretary at Affiliated Derm in Brookfield. Her tone of voice was snide and dismissive, so I can imagine the experience I would have if I were to go to the office for medical concerns. She also put me on hold for an impressively long time without asking. If you are looking for service from people that disregard your best interest and ignore your requests- this place is perfect. The doctors that I have seen, do not have the empathy or genuine care that we all deserve in our medical providers The prices are also outrageous in comparison to the service. I saw 1 doctor who prescribed me several expensive creams, that did not work, come to find out that he could've tried to (at least) look for samples 1st so I didn't have to spend/waste more money. I also saw another doctor who made a recommendation for a test, yet bolted out of the room before I could confirm and ask questions, but was still charged $200 for about 20min. I called the Billing Dept regarding my bill, no one answered, so I left a vm requesting a call back. No response. I called again the next week, requesting an itemized invoice of the charges per "service", and was told that I received a bill and that was the breakdown. It is not. I had to sternly repeat my request several times, when finally the Billing representative told me that she would have to request an invoice from the doctor. I have yet to receive that in the mail, and that call was about a month ago. read more

I have been extremely pleased with my experience at Affiliated. I saw Dr. Straka for an overall exam and while there decided to have some minor imperfections removed. He was very good at explaining my options and made me feel very comfortable. His nurse is also very nice and everybody seems happy to be there. Yes, they are extremely busy and wait times can be a bit long, but Dr. Straka was very apologetic, and I am willing to wait an extra 15 minutes for excellent care. I will give this office a terrible review because one of the doctors I have seen, Dr. Zirbel, will not get back to you on results of tests. I had to write them to request results and I still havent heard from them after 2 weeks. They say they will call but they dont. I will not be going back to this doctor or office EVER!!! I went through pain and expense to have some biopsies and tests, it is not fair to me as a patient to not be able to get results. I wish I was not so quick to pay for the service beause maybe then they would listen. Probably not.It wasnt for hair removal though, just a doctors visit. the category states hair removal but not so. read more

Long waiting periods, long waiting room periods. Been a pt for over ten years and the one time I am running late (10-15 min) I have to reschedule! Meanwhile every appointment I've had to wait at least that long for the doctor. While they manage my health problems fine, their demeanor and customer service leaves something to be desired. read more

In the last 6 months, my treatment with Affiliated Dermatologists has been both a positive experience as well as an entirely successful process of curing my acne. I've seen many professionals outside of Affiliated Dermatology prior to my treatment to try to cure my acne, but I never had any long lasting success. After beginning treatment with Affiliated Dermatologists, I began seeing Dr. Steven Schuckit on a monthly basis while I was on my medication. He was particularly considerate to address all potential side effects I may have experienced, as well as any concerns or questions about my treatment as it progressed. I always felt that he genuinely cared about my success with my medication, and all aspects of my health while taking the medication. I would like to add that the nurses and representatives were equally professional for each visit I made to one of their locations. I would certainly return to their care if I were to develop acne again in the future, or any other skin related issue. read more
