I had an appointment I made morning of and I was taken in pretty quickly. I had asked for high layers and some wispy curtain bangs. I liked that the styling and blow out was included, as that made it worth the time and visit. My stylist got me out super quick since I had to leave for class. She was cognizant of this and would ask to make sure I was good on time. I was ok with the finished product, but I was left wishing I didn't ask for layers or bangs. I think she made the bangs too thick and they've grown out a little awkwardly. I also didn't think the styling was anything special, I expected a bit more oomph since I was looking forward to a change. Instead I felt plain. Pretty, but plain. I was definitely not expecting a curling iron after the blow out. I wish she just used the rounding brush, but maybe it's on me for not speaking up. I was surprised that the stylist took payment from her phone right at the chair. It kind of removed me from relaxation since I usually expect to pay at a front desk on my way out as I leave a salon experience. Having the person who did my hair be the same to collect my money was a little awkward and dissociative, especially being in the same space. Anyway, I didn't get the vibe that I'd be welcomed back. The workers had a little bit of an uppity attitude but maybe that's just my perception. I don't see myself becoming a regular or anything. The hair lasted me through an hour-long dance shoot, so good longevity. I did like the products and the amount used. The sink for shampooing was also heavenly :)

(There is an elevator from the ground floor, so that's no problem.) Fixtures are comfortable and stylish. Parking is ample but shared with many other businesses, so it's likely one will need to walk a bit. There are only 3 disabled spaces for 3-4 businesses, so that will be a concern for me. I was unpleasantly surprised that my stylist had raised her prices. And I was shocked that I was charged tax on my visit--I've never seen tax on such a service. Or was it a credit card fee? I received no information.

Booking the appointment online was amazingly easy, I received notification reminders, and the salon was easy to find and welcoming. I right away mentioned I was ASD and needed detailed instructions and might be awkward. Tessa was understanding, friendly, kind, and listened to what I needed - she asked questions and always made sure my comfort came first. She let me ramble about my life, gave me great advice on my hair, and best of all, gave me an amazing curly haircut. I HIGHLY recommend coming to Strandz for anyone needing a trusted place and for anyone with neurodivergent tendencies.

I cried when I straightened my hair and found the most uneven, terrifying, horrendous haircut of my life. Like what even is this?!? It's stringy, lifeless, there are 4 million random strands of hair just longer or shorter than anything around it. Oh, and it's an absolute dumpster fire. I was pumped to have something breezy and fun. Now I guess I'll be wearing a giant sunhat and the biggest sunglasses imaginable so no one in the world can tell who I am. Horrrrrrrrible.

She was extremely personable and asked me so many questions about myself, my goals, and of course my hair. I have struggled to maintain and make my curls look "bouncy" and shiny the way it looks after I visit a salon. Andrea was very patient and thorough when explaining to me what products and oils I could use and demonstrated the techniques on my hair so I knew how to replicate this myself once I got home. I was going to an awards dinner this particular evening and requested a blowout but I appreciated that she helped me cut my natural curls first so I could see and know what to expect once I wore my hair natural again (I don't think any hairdresser has taken the time to do this for me). The blow out looked great too and it was nice to have Andrea take so much time to show me both styles and explain both to me. She always paused to ask how I was liking the cut and getting my feedback. I'm pretty low maintenance but it was lovely to have her be so detailed. From the beginning, even prior to our appointment, she was very communicative and even texted me a few days before I went to the salon to make sure I had full transparency on price, expectations, and she also had me share photos of my hair so she could be prepared. She texted me the day after my appointment as well to check in with me and said she would be available with any follow up questions I might have. The haircut aside, Andrea is just such a lovely and wonderful human being! The conversations we had were the absolute highlight of my week. She is a compassionate, caring and truly remarkable individual! I feel so lucky to have stumbled into this salon by chance, as I live very close by and have passed it many times. If you are curious about this salon and thinking about a haircut, please do not hesitate and ask for Andrea. You shall not be disappointed!

She helped fix my eyebrows in the past, and I've always been so happy with her work. I've also seen Cassidy, who did an amazing job on my hair, and Bonnie, who did a fantastic job on my daughter's hair. Unfortunately, my experience in October was very different. The salon scheduled me with Krystal because Marina was not available. My appointment was at 2:45pm, and I arrived at 2:47pm, two minutes late. From the moment I walked in, Krystal seemed rushed and was noticeably rude toward my little girl, which immediately set the tone. She began working on my eyebrows right away without any conversation or care. She finished in under two minutes, didn't show me a mirror, and just wanted me to pay and leave. I complied because I felt extremely uncomfortable, and I have never experienced a service like that before. When I got to my car and looked in the mirror, I was shocked, my eyebrows were destroyed. I have naturally thick brows and only needed a simple clean-up, but I left with uneven, overly thinned-out brows. They were corked, patchy, and nothing like the full brows I walked in with. When I went back inside to ask for help, no one would assist me. I ended up having to cancel my plans for the evening because of how they looked. I later went to another place, and it took the specialist there an hour just to reshape what was left so that regrowth could eventually happen. It's now December, and my eyebrows are still in bad shape. I went somewhere else again today, and the specialist told me I will have to continue waiting for them to grow back or consider microneedling because of how severe the damage is. Since everyone here is a 1099 contractor, there is no real management to turn to when something goes wrong. I understand mistakes happen, but I should have been taken seriously and helped immediately when I returned to the salon. Instead, I was treated like I didn't matter. I was embarrassed, upset, and completely dismissed. The owner left me a voicemail two days later, and Krystal called to apologize the next day, but by then it felt too late. Accountability should have been taken in the moment. You go to a salon to feel beautiful. Instead, I left feeling extremely embarrassed and insecure. It has now been almost two months, and I'm still struggling with how badly my eyebrows were damaged. I do not want another person to have a bad experience. The salon should have never booked my eyebrows with a nail technician. I was under the impression I was getting the same quality service. Honestly, their customer service is as outdated as their website.
