Whoever she was, though, had some sort of emergency to take care of and I was still sitting in the waiting room a half hour after my appointment was supposed to be. And I'd gotten there a half hour early. So an hour in the waiting room. Dr. Renzi was on hand and "had a few moments" so he took me out of pity or kindness or both. They really didn't need to do it, especially considering I'm an out-of-towner and will probably never return, but they went out of their way to accommodate me. Once I got out of the waiting room everything was great. The nurse was quick, I hardly had to wait for the doctor, and my sample came back seemingly immediately. Dr. Renzi seemed caring but not overbearing, answered all of my questions, and put me totally at ease. I didn't even feel awkward when he asked if I was sexually active! I wish I had a doctor like this in Maryland, and if I ever find myself back in Haddon Heights (unlikely), I'll definitely know where to go.

From the moment I walked in, he was kind, patient, and truly took the time to listen. What stood out the most was that he didn't rush the appointment--he actually wanted to understand my history, my symptoms, and how my condition has been affecting my daily life. For the first time, I felt like a doctor genuinely understood the level of pain I've been dealing with. That alone was incredibly validating and honestly a relief. He explained things clearly, answered my questions without making me feel dismissed, and approached my care with both knowledge and compassion. If you're someone dealing with chronic pain or trying to find answers, I highly recommend seeing him. It's not easy finding a doctor who really listens and cares, but this experience gave me hope.
