Over the last 20 years, hubby has been treated for pain by many others, and even pointedly dismissed on the first appointment as a drug-seeker, by one D.O. lady in Vineland, but none were willing or able to dig in and really investigate. This is one of the rare doctors who asks good questions, listens to the answers and then proceeds. He lets the patient be part of the process, instead of playing officious doctor-god, like most do. The only downside is that, even with an appointment, you're likely to be sitting in the waiting room for a very long time, so bring something to do and a set of earplugs, unless you're okay with watching whatever's on the very loud big screen TV in the corner. Also, don't be more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, or you'll have to reschedule. Dr. M. is absolutely worth waiting for, though. He has a sense of humor, which helps, and understands that most patients want to be part of their own medical care, not just be told what to do. He'll explain as much as he can about any issues and what the options are for treatment. He doesn't push you to have things done that you just don't want, and he doesn't sugarcoat the problems, either. It's a long drive to get there, but we can't imagine going anywhere else.
