If someone is walking into an urgent care on the Fourth of July.... we can just assume that this person needs medical attention and that is why they are there. The receptionist said this to me loudly from where I was standing in the main entrance doorway, everyone in the waiting room was watching this entire conversation play out. I did not feel comfortable at that point receiving any medical attention from the staff. I was honestly in shock and just walked out. I went to Atlantic Care Express in Berlin and the staff was amazing. I ended up needing to be given steroids to help the swelling in my throat go down so that I could breathe. I was so embarrassed and uncomfortable, I did not feel safe. This was not the first time I've received attitude upon entering this place, I will not be returning for any medical emergencies.

I…read morearrived at AtlantiCare Urgent Care on Route 73 in Berlin, NJ around 7:20, just 40 minutes prior to closing. Quite frankly, I felt badly about the late arrival because I was aware that between intake, cleaning/irrigating the wound, having X-rays to determine if shards of glass remained in my finger and stitching the cut would result in a late departure for the staff. From the moment I approached the reception/in-take desk, to being treated by the medical assistant, I believe her name was Jennifer, to having X-rays taken and read and finally being evaluated and stitched by NP Laurel, I left the center around 8:40. Every individual whom I encountered welcomed me warmly and professionally, put me at ease, and provided great care. Despite my numerous apologies for keeping them late, all they said was, "I'm so glad you made it here before we closed". The staff at AtlantiCare Urgent Center Berlin, NJ are exemplary. Thank you so much for the highly competent, professional and kind service. Respectfully, Joanie Walsh.
