Its the fastest and best hour of my day! I love going. I'm disappointed when I can't make a class because its so much fun & the best workout ever. I used to dread working out. But I love this workout. Every time I go its always different! From the warm up to the workout to the cool down. They change it up every class! Never boring! Joanne is AH-MAY-ZING!!! She keeps the class fun, energized, makes sure you don't compromise on form, she pushes you to your max but is very encouraging. All the instructors are great. They all take turns to make sure you "get it". They are so supportive & are really there to help you achieve your goals. Its a great group of people and I'm beyond happy that I found this place! Talk about the extra sweat you put out when there is no AC to help cool you down during activity. This 4th of July weekend I happened to be with my brother and his wife/my sister-in-law was taking advantage of their outdoor morning Kickboxing bootcamp. She knows I love a good workout and don't shy away, even when on vacation to get one in. They had the extra space so for a small cost I was able to lock in the spot and attend as a visiting guest of hers. The young lady that instructed the class [daughter of owners] was super energetic and engaged throughout the entire workout showing and motivating all to put out what they could and more. If I lived close to this location, I would totally be making it my home gym. I could only image how great all on the inside is, but if the workouts are as good/better than the one I had outdoors, I'd be hooked for sure. If someone invested 2 or 3 years in a system I'm betting they won't think it was a bad choice. They will defend their choice to the end - bitter or not. However, most people don't stick with it long enough to really learn the skills and values they are trying to teach you. So how do you choose? The teacher and the schools personality. You need to find a personality that matches your objectives. We have all seen the Karate Kid movie where the school was very aggressive and taught winning was everything - a classic example of a bad school - IMHO. THE SCHOOL - Dave is the owner and is very personable. He is well rounded and makes sure the classes are hard & fun. The kids are challenged - sometimes pushed to their limits. This is a good thing - it teaches them that they are capable of more than they think. It also teaches them that if they can't succeed the 1st time to keep trying and they can make the grade. It's never about beating someone else but pushing yourself and learning your limits. Kids ages 8 to 12 are offered 2 classes - Thai Kick Boxing and Ju Jit Su. 2/3s of each class is spent on exercises and 1/3 learning new skills. They build a solid base in strength, endurance, speed and coordination etc. When they are ready they are moved to the next level for more work and more skills.
