I have had an extreme fear of the dentist ( due to past experiences)which resulted in not going for 2-3 years or on and off , instead of the recommended 6month period. Finally I decided to go because of pain I'd been having in my tooth. I can't emphasise enough how good this dentist is, especially if you have a fear like I did. I felt NO PAIN during any of the visits and was kept informed throughout the examinations! FOR ONCE IN 24 years of my life I left the dentist office with a smile, no pain, no bleeding cuts, and a whole new perspective. Can you believe that I was actually looking forward to my next appointment (which by the way she booked me for an appointment 2 days after my first consultation ) very fast . She fixed my two small cavities and my two chipped teeth . I was ecstatic when she finished , it looks great (I will put up my before and after pictures once I get them from her) Dr. Shukla made sure to match the best she could to my natural color , she got it on point! One of my favorite things about her is that she has you tell her all your wishes for how you would like your smile to look , or how to make your teeth better. I told her all of my concerns , which she made sure to write down ! So far we knocked 2 from my checklist , I can't wait to finish it up and see how my smile will be at the end of this journey !!!! She made me feel comfortable and did everything she could to make my cleaning as painless as possible, which she included using a numbing cream on my gums, which helped a lot. She's very knowledgeable, asked questions, and recommended different things to try to keep my gums in good health. Her office staff is extremely nice too. I spoke to Natasha on the phone and then met her today. She's very sweet. The young woman who did my x-rays was great too--nice and friendly and was fast so I didn't have to sit long with the plastic things in my mouth. This all made such a difference in my dental experience, which I always dread. The office is cheerful and decorated for the holidays. The parking was right next to the office in a private lot. The office itself is conveniently located right off Route 130 so it's easy to get to. I highly recommend Dr. Maia if you're looking for a dentist. I was so pleasantly surprised!
