Bottega Portici is a fast-casual style restaurant near the two towers of Bologna. It has a small…read moremenu that includes all of the staple Bolognese dishes. We tried this place because our friend from Bologna says that this is her and her friends' go-to restaurant for a quick bite. I really enjoyed my pasta, though I was a little disappointed with the portion sizes. There were 11 noodles in my €9.90 bowl... but who's counting, right?! It was still very delicious.

Decided to come by here for a quick bite when we were passing through Bologna earlier this year…read more This place seemed to get a lot of accolades, so we were curious. It looks like this particular location is connected to a hotel, and the ordering is done via kiosks. I got their tortelloni burro e pomodoro, while my partner got the tortellini in brodo. The portions were indeed a bit on the small side, but this was fine as we were intending on eating a lot elsewhere. Had this been our only meal, though, we would have probably been a bit more miffed. As for the tortellini itself? Pretty good. I loved how fresh it tasted, and how perfectly cooked they were. The partner liked his choice as well, and my friend liked her choice also, though I can't remember what she had ordered. This may not be the best place to go in Bologna for tortellini, but their stuff seems to be of decent quality and if anything, they do have menus in English also.

This dish comes in a paper cone, piping hot and it could easily be a meal compared to a snack. There are other dishes available for order, freshly made while you wait. It's close to the bars so I expect this is where people go for food, after their drinking binge.

Wow. I know Indegno is the fast food version of crescentina but I had never had crescentina before…read moreand, with nothing to compare it to, this was pretty spectacular. There's a few different Indegnos around Bologna and with it being a college town, it makes total sense. This is the best drunk food ever. I swear, if someone were to open one of these in a college town in the US, they'd make a killing. The Indegno crescentina is like a fancy hot pocket. Incredible fried, doughy bread with some kind of cold cut meat, cheese, or other fillings. They even have vegan meat options here too. They also have a side of fried tortellini served with a creamy cheese for dipping that was absolutely amazing. I ordered the L'incontro crescentina which came with aged ham and squacquerone cheese. I wish I got three more. It was that good. There was just one guy working the stand, taking orders and preparing all the food. But he was friendly and quick and really did his best. If you're in Bologna and want a quick, delicious dinner or lunch (or you've had a few drinks), go to Indegno. You won't regret it.
