They installed a liner for me a couple of years ago, and their work was great. They charged me as quoted (a couple thousand dollars less than I had paid in the past) and they are upfront about charging a flat hourly rate for anything unexpected the run into. Since then, I've used them for the occasional cleaning and different maintenance issues. They come when they say they will, they do a great job, and there are no unexpected charges. David, the owner, is in his 60s and has been in the pool business since he was 13. He doesn't do the physical work himself, but he does have an excellent team. The only negative - which isn't a big deal to me - is that he isn't great at returning calls. I just call him every day until I get him. He's a delight to talk to and a straight shooter.

The total came out to around $1000 which made sense ($700 parts, $200-300 labor) and they conveniently took a card payment by phone. Eric was knowledgeable, friendly, and cleaned up after better than I would've. I'll certainly use Flamingo the next time my pool breaks.

Our luck continued when Eric punctually showed up at our house to work on our skimmer and suction side flow that wasn't working. In less than 5 minutes, not only did Eric have the issue correctly diagnosed, but he was also able to keep his customer's cost in check by not recommending needless parts and labor. What completely amazed me was that Eric was sincerely interested in pleasing us and making us smile. He did this by taking some extra steps quickly that sped up the clearing of our pool, as well as sharing tips of knowledge that he has gained over many years of satisfying customers.. some of these tips were big and some were small.. let me just tell you to ask for the wite-out tip! This was one of the most satisfying and enjoyable meetings with a service provider that we have ever had. We highly recommend contacting and using this wonderful Company for your Pool Maintenance and Service needs as we will as future needs arise.

As they seemed to get bigger and increase the price, the quality of services decreased, greatly. They added more people, which is good for business i understand, but they were never trained up to par and had several issues. Whenever texting the owner hed always blame the guys and say they're working on getting shown trained up rather than taking the blame himself as the owner. I had him doing my father in laws house and he recently left too. Very unapologetic and never really took any blame for himself. Although he did come out the first time we had an issue and personally fixed it himself, he didnt do it the second time. There shoudl have not been several instances but unfortunately there waas

(We did need a new filter, but they said they couldn't get it clear, as "it's been raining," "your mulch is too high in the planter," "you have a screen out," etc. The old service never could get it clear.) We called Willis Pool Service, and Tyler came out and told us the problems. (He also said those were flimsy excuses for not getting the pool clear.) He checked the chemicals, adjusted, and a day later, it was crystal clear! A DAY LATER!!! They are our new pool service, and I HIGHLY recommend them!

After over a year of relationship I started seeing that the visits were somewhat shorter and less thorough and so were the addressing of my concerns when it came to my pool care, but I stuck with them because I very much believe in supporting mom and pop, locally owned businesses. After going on over a year plus of service and always paying on time, out of the blue one day I got a text from Joe saying that they would not becoming out this week as they are no longer serving my area. When I wrote back and asked if they would at least give some type of notice for me to find a replacement servicer I never received a response back, which I found to be in very poor taste while I was paying a premium. In my opinion, loyalty wss definitely not a two way streak.

The…read moreowner or his wife did the weekly cleaning, but was replaced by their nephew (who recently quit and never returned our entrance key and the owner said he doesn't have it). The BIG PROBLEM we just found out was the nephew wasn't doing his cleaning job properly and the ALGAE got out of control. Our pool is now unfit to use. I just poured 15 gallons of chlorine into pool and bought a new stainless steel bristled brush and started brushing. It seems to work, but unfortunately I'm pushing 80 with a very bad heart condition which allows my heart to only pump at 30-35 bpm, and I run out of gas quickly. My wife called the owner and he lost his temper saying she was questioning his ability to do the job and quit. He didn't even allow her time to speak when she ask if he knew when the last time the filtered was backwashed! The other day he called and said he would acid wash the pool and only charge $500.00. Five hundred dollars to fix a problem that THEIR INCOMPETENCE CAUSED! We've talked to two other Pinch a Penny stores and they both said this was very preventable - if the pool was properly maintained. How is it you have a service for five years and when THEY CAUSE A PROBLEM they just quit and walk away. Not a good way to treat a loyal customer who never complained when they would miss a week now and then. If they are doing your pool now, be very aware of any minor problems, because it could become a major problem as they allowed ours to become. One other thought, we've been told part of the problem was they used chlorine cakes instead of liquid chlorine. Now we will need to find another pool cleaning service.
