For something that costs this much, I prefer to receive the rail pass in person instead of ordering it online. The travel agents were very cordial. I didn't have my passport with me during my first visit, so I was handed a form to fill out on my return. Once I returned with my passport and filled out form, they scanned my passport and verified the information on the form and provided a voucher for the Japan Rail Pass (it has to be exchanged for a pass in Japan). The travel agent provided addresses of various locations where the vouchers can be exchanged and also provided information about which lines the pass is not valid on. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The travel agents were friendly and efficient.

Danny Hoag booked my trip and then wouldn't help when there was problems at the airport and resort,…read moreso the vacation was not even received at all. I wouldn't recommend this company. They just want your commission and then they try and attack you for complaining. Danny called me personally to be upset he was being held accountable for not fixing the vacation and said he just books the tickets. If you book the tickets you should help the customer if they have an issue. He didn't even care. Money is all he cares about.

We booked a cruise to Alaska from September 20-27 with travel agent Bobbi-Jo Roback and it was a…read morenightmare. She took our deposit on February 17 and the balance was due on July 22. She did not send us anything to show that we have paid the deposit. She told us that we don't have to call her with our credit card to pay the deposit she will keep the card in file. July 22 came and nothing came out from our account. I called her on July 25 to find out what was going on. She gave me some lame excuses and she actually took the balance out. She did not send us an invoice nor the Booking number for 6 weeks. Two weeks before our cruise we had not heard from her. We tried calling her and leaving messages but she was not responding. We called the cruise line to find out if they had our booking. They asked us for our booking number and we told them the agent had not given it to us. They could not find our names in their system and that didn't look good. We called the cruise line the following day and pleaded with them to go through their bookings to see if they can help us. Fortunately someone was patient enough to go through their records and they found us. They were very helpful and they set us up and gave us all the information we needed. Bobbi-Jo was the worst and she never took responsibility nor made an apology. We will never book another trip with her or her company again.

In Cairo we had Sahar Bayoumi as our Egyptologist. And she was amazing! Make sure to request her. When we arrived in Luxor Hussein El Mouneir was our Egyptologist and he made the trip perfect. He was so knowledgeable and personable. Hussein made sure our trip to Egypt was one we will never forget. Make sure you ask for him to be your guide! We was with him for 5 full days. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Habibi!

Customer Service is a MAJOR issue. Goway owes us a refund for a reservation in Ireland (Muckross…read moreHouse Killarney) that Goway apparently cancelled months prior to our travel, we prepaid. They were no help finding us a new place to stay. When the manager at Muckross finally found us a place, our travel agent told us to save our receipt. We submitted it for reimbursement, but wanted the reimbursement for our Muckross stay (which cost much more). We were reimbursed $400 for the new hotel, but that did not cover what we paid for Muckross, Goway went silent. Our travel agent plus our emails/calls have gone totally unanswered. It has been over 5 months. I decided it was time to write a review to fore-warn any future Goway clients. Another heads up- most of our reservations at the other hotels booked by Goway had "Expedia" on our check-out receipts.

Our recent family trip to Hawaii booked through Goway Travel was extremely disappointing from start…read moreto finish. We expected a seamless, relaxing vacation, but instead experienced multiple preventable issues that significantly impacted our entire trip. The most serious problem was a major room booking error that left our family without proper sleeping accommodations for four nights. We were forced to sleep on a cot for nearly half of our vacation, which was completely unacceptable given the cost of the trip and the expectations set when booking through a travel company. Communication throughout the process was also very poor. Responses were slow, inconsistent, and came from multiple representatives with no continuity or clear ownership of our case. Instead of enjoying our vacation, we spent a large portion of it trying to resolve issues that should have been handled correctly in advance. There were also problems with the private transfers, where drivers requested payment upon arrival even though everything had already been prepaid as part of our package. On arrival at our second hotel, we again encountered booking errors involving multiple room scenarios and unexpected additional charges that required correction. During the Best of Kualoa Experience, major flooding resulted in the cancellation of two scheduled activities. We were advised that refunds would be issued for the cancelled portions, and we fully expect this to be processed, but there has been little clear communication or follow-up. Another major issue was the handling of required waivers for excursions. These were not sent directly to us as travellers but instead went through Goway, which created confusion and forced us to arrive extremely early for activities just to ensure there were no mistakes. This added unnecessary stress and disruption to what should have been well-organized experiences. Overall, the lack of coordination, communication, and accountability throughout this trip was very disappointing. Even after the vacation, the compensation offered did not reflect the level of inconvenience, stress, and disruption we experienced, and follow-up has been minimal. A vacation should create positive memories -- not frustration, confusion, and constant problem-solving. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Goway Travel.
