Nestled right in the heart of Five Towns is this gem of a fitness place. THE SKINNY: They are located above the Brachs supermarket (used to be a bowling alley back in the days) . Legacy Fitness has been open for 7 years, do not advertise and have gained clients completely by word of mouth. You wouldn't even know its there because there is only a door with no sign leading you to the gym floor. Even though they are located in the center of a lot of gyms, they have had 100% retention rate from the first day they have opened. That is unheard of. THE MUSCLE: The trainers are very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Most people go to the gym for workout classes then will come here for personal training. The owner, Christian Mendoza, specializes in post rehab workouts and getting you back on your feet but he also has a major focus on your health, not just your physical attributes. I have belonged to Gold's gym, Planet Fitness, NY sports club and Synergy and have never received the attention to detail that I get from here. The gym is always super clean. There is a room dedicated to your cardio with top of the line machines (eliptical, treadmills, etc) and a separate room focused on building your strength. There are some free weights and machines but you will have a personal trainer helping you do the exercises correctly, keep your motivation high and encourage you to do what is necessary for you to reach your goals. I walk out feeling satisfied with my success every time. Think of those P90X and Insanity videos....now imagine they are really in the room and not just on the TV. THE BMI : If you live in the neighborhood and want a quality place to workout, get your butt over to the gym. Not just any gym, Legacy Fitness. After an injury, I had stopped going to the gym and lost all motivation. I knew I needed to take action, as I was feeling very sluggish, weak, and easily worn out. However, I was very nervous to re-injure myself and wind up out of commission again. A friend recommended me to Christian Mendoza, the owner of the gym. After speaking to him and learning about his passion for helping people, personalized approach to fitness, and overcoming a serious injury himself, I knew I was in good hands. From my very first workout ( free trial) I could see the difference! Now, this is not your average gym and definitely not your average trainers, that you may find at a chain fitness center. The style of training is unique and truly individualized to a persons needs. The staff is highly skilled and experienced. I was constantly kept motivated and encouraged to push myself to do my best. Minor things, that other trainers wouldn't notice, such as slightly incorrect positioning, breathing, or muscle spasms were immediately ackowledged, helping me avoid issues. The atmosphere inside was perfect too, being a small facility with a limited amount of people ( most I have seen was 3 others) at any given time, I was never intimidated to do things. They have nice merchandise and have frequent sales. The coaches take the time to get to know you and your goals and help push you to them. The studio itself is pretty spacious and has lockers to keep your things stored during class. There is a big parking lot outback with plenty spots. Also conveniently located to stores, bank, shops, so you can run errands before or after class. They do a lot of 2G style classes here and lift classes daily. I wish they had more 3G class options. This is become my home away from home studio and it's been a great experience!!
