There's enough branches in the area that I can actually talk to a human if need be, and since it's part of the credit union co-op I'm never short on options for ATMs. I opened a checking and savings account. There's no minimum for checking, just $5 to open. You need a $200 minimum balance in savings but they give you a month to get to that level if you need, which I think is a nice thing since people might not bring that much cash with them the first day. I showed up early for my appointment and was seen immediately. Sara was kind and made light conversation while informing me about the other services offered and what to expect with my accounts. I will update if the app causes issues, but otherwise I'm very excited and happy with my banking choice.
