My house needed new carpeting, and I decided to try two different places to buy from, one for my living room, the other for a bedroom. The living room was first, and I had Porter's do it. They sold me exactly what I wanted and did not try to pressure me into buying additional goods or services that I didn't want. They were here within three days to install my new carpet, at exactly the time they said they would be here. Advantage will be doing the bedroom. They were supposed to be here between 9 and 10 this morning. Shortly after 9, I saw the van drive slowly down my street, obviously looking for my house. I don't understand what the problem was, since my house number is on my mailbox, as well as on the front of my house. Well, he drove past my house and sat at the stop sign for several minutes before driving away. I thought I would give it a few minutes and someone would surely call. About 15 minutes later, no call no show, and it's now almost 9:30. So I called the store and told them about their driver being lost and driving away. She called the driver and then called me back. She said he was behind schedule due to the flooding, and that he could either be here later today or tomorrow morning. Later today does not work, because I work second shift, so if it's convenient for them, I guess they'll be here tomorrow. If flooding was an issue, should they not have called me, instead of me having to call them? I believe what happened was, he couldn't find my house, so he just went to a different customer's house instead. This on top of having to wait over a week for my carpeting to come in, plus being pressured into having my sub floor treated makes me not a happy consumer. I have two more rooms to carpet, and Porter's will be doing them. read more
