Glasses, Glasses, Glasses everywhere you look when you walk in. If you can't find a pair of frames…read morethat look good on you something is wrong. The downside is there are sooo many frames I found myself getting overwhelmed. After awhile they were looking all the same. Hence the reason I was there. I switched insurance companies at the beginning of the year, and my regular eye Dr wasn't on the list so I decided to check out ShopKo Optical. As soon as I entered the door, I was greeted by smiling faces. I was checked in within less than five minutes. Wow that's what I call service and with a smile no less. The new experience with the Dr went really smooth, and he answered all my questions. I only had a slight change in my eyes so I was happy about that. Glasses take about a week to make, so you will need to make another appointment to come back. On the return appointment I was in and out within 20 minutes. They did say that I could bring in my own sunglass frames and they would replace the lenses with my prescription for just the cost of the lenses. Parking is a nightmare as they share the parking lot with the bar next door.

I had them since May 2025 AND they are so muddled that I have to buy dollar store glasses to see clearly. The anti-reflective coating is so worn you can see the glare in my pictures. This is the 2nd pair of clear lenses that failed within 6 months. Nice enough, they're replacing these with a new pair. I'm leery because the rate these demolish are great. What are they using? I have glasses from America's Best that don't degrade like Eye Glass World does. I'm going to get this free pair wear them, and buy NEW glasses at America's Best after the start of the new year. In 6 months I will compare the lenses. Based on past experience I'm pretty sure America's Best will remain the better lens. AVOID Eyeglass World. I believe I'm getting the free pair in order to keep my business. When you look at the pictures you will see foggy, muddled lenses that look scratched but actually the coating used has rubbed in a way that it looks like the coating was applied with very little diligence on the craftsmanship part.

Scheduling my appointment was super easy, it's done all online and there were plenty of times and dates to choose from. I ended up having to reschedule my appointment and that process was also very easy and can be done online. When I got to my appointment the store was very clean and organized, and the staff was very friendly! They took the time to explain things in detail to me, making sure I knew the process and what to expect. I booked my appointment with Dr Campbell, not knowing anything about him and he was amazing. He was very helpful in explaining things and answering all my questions. I Highly recommend him! When it was time to check out and go over any questions I had the employee who rang me up for my vision test etc was really thorough in going over everything and making sure I understood what my insurance would cover and what the cost would be. Gave me sample plain lenses to wear for the full day so I can let them know if I feel comfortable with them or not, and then we will place the order. The manager was extraordinarily patient and knowledgeable. I tried on so many glasses and was grateful for their opinions and patience. What topped the cake was dealing with my insurance. I rarely use my optical insurance and the manager spent so much time helping me even though it was so busy. She was never snappy or impatient, and I appreciated her expertise. I'm really excited for my new glasses too and love my frames.
