Great customer service. You can tell they care about animals. The young lady at the front desk was very knowledgeable.

They're all wonderful vets but he is an incredibly kind vet and gave my broken heart comfort that she would be treated by him. My heart is broken but I take great comfort that she was so treated with such kindness and warmth in her final moments.

Also, since the West Allis vet sold out to private equity, their prices have increased substantially. Community Vet has a reputation (by AI) as lower cost. We have a small dog in need of dental cleaning, so I decided to check them out. Drove there Saturday morning for their limited hours. I found that they had not one but two separate buildings, only one of which was open that day. Oddly, they have a locked door policy without a buzzer, requiring a phone call to which the desk person answered with, "What do you want?" A bit abrupt and rude, it seemed to me. When she finally gave me permission to enter, I explained my interest in switching vets and asked their rates for dental cleaning. I was shocked. She said they don't have a base rate, but in practice you can expect to be charged at least $900 without extractions. If there are extractions, the fee could be as high as $3000. I said, "That seems a bit high to me," and got out of there as fast as I could. They may not be listed as sold out to private equity, but they are definitely no longer a low cost community clinic.

I've taken my 12 year old cat here three times. One for an initial checkup, one for a dental…read moresurgery, and one for vaccines/a general follow up. I love all the staff, they're super nice and helpful especially with finding an appointment time that works for me. The two vets I've seen are nice and professional. One of the downsides of this place are the prices. They don't accept payment plans, and with my cat's procedure costing over $600 this was hard to pay immediately. They offered me CareCredit, but I work in a debt collections firm and I know how predatory CareCredit is. The interest rates are ridiculous. I found this inappropriate to be offering to an 18 year old, but I guess they wanted me to understand all my options! The care is very thorough, which puts me at ease as my cat ages. Would recommend to others with cats.

Unfortunately my cat got cancer and it eventually came time to put her to sleep. Dr. Christiansen came to my house to perform the procedure. She had me hold my cat for her, which was fine, but she couldn't find a vein. Little did I know that her plan B was to stab my cat with the needle directly into her heart, which is what she did! My cat was biting my fingers as hard as she could - it was HORRIBLE and TRAUMATIC for me and my sweet kitty. It was so bad. I've since learned that the technique she used for euthanizing my cat was intra-cardiac euthanasia. It is widely thought of as painful and barbaric. My sweet cat suffered greatly in her last moments and so did I. I have never forgotten that horrible ending - my cat deserved so much better, a goodbye filled with peace and love, not horror. I don't know if Dr. Christiansen practices any more, but if she does, please consider seeing someone else.

Honestly, I was surprised--being a walk-in clinic, I expected a quick in-and-out experience, maybe something impersonal. But it was the complete opposite. The team at Saint Paul's truly cares--not just about the pets, but about the people who love them. I've had one of my cats undergo surgery there, and more recently, my boy (a dog) had a seizure. I was in complete panic mode, barely holding it together. But even the other customers were kind and supportive, helping me get inside. Once I was in, the staff gave my dog--and me--the time, attention, and compassion we desperately needed. They treated us with nothing but love and care. Even though they don't take appointments and operate on a call-ahead, walk-in basis, they are 100% worth the wait. I highly recommend this vet clinic. The level of care and kindness they offer is truly rare.

Unfortunately they were not able to save her and I had to have her euthanized right then and there. But to add insult to injury a employee discarded or stole her carrier. They have cameras in all treatment rooms and throughout the facility however when I asked that they review the video, after several requests, they claim they saw no one remove the carrier that was left in the room. They offered to replace the carrier and requested I send them comparable replacement options. I paid over $100 for the carrier but submitted replacement options of much less value trying to be fair. After a couple months and multiple emails they have not replaced the carrier and are ignoring my emails. I fell hurt and betrayed that someone would steal during such a tragedy.
