The crew came out right away to make the situation safe, took the tree down without incident, cleaned up beautifully and left...all within one day. Everyone that I dealt with from the very beginning were courteous, honest, and respectful. There are many tree services that I have used in my 40 years of business as our property is surrounded by many large trees. It's hard to find the right service for the job. In the futrue this company will be the first one I call because of the confidence level that I now have with them. In the scenario I described things could have gone vey bad at any moment. it was a very dangerous situation and they handled it with ease and professionalism. Not every tree service have the capabilites or equipment to handle this type of situation, it took special equipment which they provided. The prices are very reasonable for the excellent service. I guarantee that you will not find any better tree service, they will serve you well. As I mentioned before, I've have dealt with many over the years and Forrest Green and the crew are at the top of their game. Thank you, Brad,General, and the entire crew. I am reviewing this company's business practices, not their tree work, as no service was ever…read moreperformed. We hired them to trim one mature beech tree for $5,000 and paid a 50% deposit ($2,500) to secure a spot on their calendar. However, we never actually had a specific date scheduled. No crew was assigned, no equipment was reserved, and no timeline was ever confirmed. After signing, we obtained a second opinion from a certified arborist and decided to cancel. As per their contract, we forfeited 50% of the deposit ($1,250), despite the fact that they incurred zero costs related to our project. I take responsibility for not scrutinizing the cancellation clause more closely. However, a 50% penalty is wildly excessive at this preliminary stage. The contract even includes a clause offering a "full credit" if we rebook later, which proves they are willing to apply this money to future work rather than absorb a loss. If they can give 100% credit for future services, they are not suffering a 50% financial hit by issuing a cash refund. When I asked the owner to negotiate a reasonable administrative fee (e.g., a few hundred dollars for their time writing the estimate), he refused to engage in good faith. I would have happily paid for their time, but keeping $1,250 for zero services rendered feels punitive, not compensatory. Advice to future customers: Read the cancellation clause very carefully. I would ask this specific question: If I cancel before you assign a specific work date to my job, what is the actual cancellation fee? Don't assume a deposit is refundable just because they haven't done any work. Get the answer in writing before you sign. Bottom line: This is a $1,250 lesson where one needs to read every line and get cancellation terms in writing before paying a deposit.

I accepted the quote but and was told I would find out the following week when we would be scheduled. Never heard from them. I called the office 2 times to question when I would be scheduled. The office Asst said call back next week if you don't hear back. I did and was told someone would call me the following day. To this day I am still waiting. I guess our job was just too small and they truly were not interested. I find it hard to believe a tree company is so busy that they can't even call back after a month. We no longer need services from this company. We contacted another company. They were out within 48 hrs. They did an excellent job. Today is Sept 19th

When we first moved in, we noticed that the tree looked like it had been sealed with some black tar and we worried about its health. We called West Michigan Tree Services to come take a look at it, and they gave us some advice and a care plan. They treated the tree and injected some fertilizer into the roots. They did some other work to it as well in order to give it the best possible outcome. I'd hate to lose this tree, so I'm willing to invest some money into its care. Each spring I receive a tree care contract via email that includes the cost of service for that year and what will be done. If you pre-pay before a certain date, you get a 10% discount, and the work is done that spring. We've been doing this for the past few years, and our tree is looking great! I'm so thankful for the certified arborists and staff for helping us care for our tree. They also provide tree removal and stump grinding, pruning, and land and lot clearing services.

Spoke with Tim at the office and he cannot even send me an invoice until the end of day. Run do not use these people. Also to note: They came the day after they said they would be there, they did not call I had to reach out. I gave a pass on this as there was a major storm, but not very professional to not call. I had to call the office 6 times before they answered this morning. Charged for clean up, however there are still 3 large pieces of tree in my yard. They're was some type of manager (Lansing lesson) there because their Lansing crews had been "caught doing stuff they shouldn't" Do not use this company Edit / Follow up: After reaching out and waiting they did send me an invoice for just over 8500 for the same job, never did receive an invoice for the 13 thousand that they sent to my insurance company. This still seems excessive to me and I did reach out and they were unwilling to lower it any more. They charge for a full 8 hour day no matter how long they are actually on the job, which they state is standard practice, however none of the other three tree companies I called do this. I never received a response to my email questioning this, however, Rebecca was able to email me within minutes when I asked where to send the check. The contact that they make you sign leaves absolutely no protection for you the customer, they can do what ever they want and there is no recourse, including not honoring any estimate given. If you don't pay within 30 days they will charge you interest. This is a predatory company and they are very good at seeming like they are their to help until you get the invoice, then they will not help at all.
