Physically, I've dropped a clothing size in both pants and tops, and my DEXA scans show that I've increased lean mass and bone density while losing weight in a calorie deficit, which is especially meaningful to me at this stage of life. Beyond the visible changes, I've also seen improvements in several health markers, which was one of my primary goals going into this process. For me, strength training wasn't about athletic performance--it was about improving my long-term health. One of the biggest reasons I've been successful is the coaching itself. I have low blood pressure and can become lightheaded during heavier lifts, and I also need careful attention to form and knee positioning to avoid injury while still being challenged appropriately. I don't think I would push myself safely or effectively on my own. Christian does an excellent job of finding that balance between encouragement, proper technique, and progressive overload. One of the strongest endorsements I can give is that he has developed a program tailored specifically to my goals, my health concerns, and my abilities. I had just experienced another flareup and was feeling desperate. They were able to get me in to see Dr. Shane quickly, and when I tell you that I felt like I was with a miracle worker. We went through several motions during the intro session, and he was able to diagnosis my issue (piriformis syndrome and tight hips). He performed cupping and massage, and he was able to loosen up my stubborn hips. He then had me perform some PT exercises, and I IMMEDIATELY felt relief. I honestly couldn't believe it. I thought the relief would go away after a few hours, but it stayed for a few days. I've worked him for about 6 sessions now, and I've felt drastic improvements. He tailors the training session to my problem areas, and he doesn't increase my load too quickly, to make sure I don't reinjure myself (which had been happening before). I gave them all of my insurance info when I booked, & I even got a reminder four days in advance. For some reason, no one felt it was necessary to call me in advance of my appointment to tell me that their facility was out of network & each visit would be charged at 50% (or $75). That's pretty important info to tell a patient before their first appointment. I think it's very unprofessional to wait until the moment someone is checking in to notify them. I even asked, "Did you just find out this info this morning?" I was told indeed they had. I don't buy it. Either way, interesting that no one thought to call me before I drove down here, to let me know. Maybe this is something they do to get people in the door but I don't appreciate having my time wasted and not having someone pick up the phone to put in a 30 second call to let me know about something that's going to impact my finances. So, they lost my business and I will be looking elsewhere. I don't I find this kind of behavior to be professional.
