I explained I am a cancer patient that has had weekly appointments for the last nine months. They are the only doctor I have that does not send out appointment reminders. Since I missed the appointment, their policy is to make you call in the morning every day and check and see if an appointment is available. There are many complaints about his staff on other platforms. If the doctor is okay with his staff being rude and punitive to his patients, I will not trust he will put any more care into my health issues.

He's an extremely nice and patient doctor as well. I highly recommend his office (he has several).

Not only did Dr Kalra immediately tell us what he "guessed" we'd heard from the other Doctors, he proceeded to give his opinion, which actually made sense to us! Then, as he was not included in our insurance plan, not only did he join that plan (which took several weeks to get accepted), he fought for the procedure they didn't want to cover, and he won! He worked weeks on finding studies supporting he recommended. He is very dedicated to his patients care!! That was neck, we are back for lower back issues. The neck was one time and done! After everything I experienced, I feel obligated to share my story. I had a spinal fusion in…read moreDecember 2024 with Dr. Ricky Kalra, and almost immediately during recovery I began experiencing severe nerve pain down my left leg. At my 2-week post-op appointment and every appointment afterward, I repeatedly tried to explain how intense and persistent the pain was and how concerned I felt about it. Unfortunately, I left those visits feeling unheard and dismissed. I understand recovery from spinal surgery can be difficult and unpredictable, but as a patient, I desperately needed reassurance, guidance, and to feel like my concerns truly mattered. Instead, I personally felt like I was repeatedly told to "wait it out," even as the pain continued month after month. During this process, I was referred by Dr. Kalra to multiple different specialists in an attempt to address the ongoing nerve pain. However, after being evaluated, those doctors ultimately referred me back to Dr. Kalra regarding the issues related to my fusion and recovery. This left me feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn for answers or support. More than a year later, I am still dealing with the same nerve pain that began after surgery. This has significantly affected my quality of life. When I contacted the office again hoping to discuss the ongoing issues I've been experiencing since the fusion, I was informed that I was being dismissed as a patient and later received a certified dismissal letter from the practice. That was incredibly upsetting after trusting this practice with my care and trying for so long to advocate for myself. I'm sharing this only as my personal experience. Every patient's situation is different, but for me, the lack of support and communication during such a painful and vulnerable time was deeply disappointing. I hope future patients feel heard, respected, and taken seriously when expressing concerns about their recovery.

Dr. Stachniak seems caring, and the office visit left me feeling confident she would do well,…read morethough she was happily departing on Saffari for the next several weeks, so my procedure was pushed back. I'm in healthcare myself and checked her credentials and history, so I am well aware of who she is and her reputation. I had the spinal injection which I was told should hold off the pain for at least a year. It lasted about 10 - 14 days only. I called to make another appointment and the office person, "Jessica" states "you were supposed to check in with us", no one told me this and I thought Dr's checked in on their patients, not vice versa? I mean this whole thing cost me over $2,000 for about 5 minutes of her time. I never saw her pre or post injection either, which also seemed odd. In any event, I asked to speak with the Practice Manager but so far, no call from her (Kathy). Jessica has no inter-personal skills and is always a bit rude, in my opinion. I do take into account that I'm in constant pain and therefore, I have a very low tolerance for rudeness. I hate to switch Dr's, but happily will as I have no willingness to be treated poorly. Good customer service and follow-up in healthcare is paramount and all physician offices need to know this! Jessica may wish to find another vocation as patient care/empathy is not her strong point. I hope Dr. Stackniak sees this and takes appropriate action.

Dr. Satyan seems knowledgeable enough about spine surgery, and seemed to answer most of my questions to the best of his ability, but he did so with a bit of uppity holier-than-thou attitude that I had not expected. Some of my questions regarding the surgery process and potential side effects were answered with what seemed like a "why do you need to know that?" attitude. At the end of the appointment, it seemed like he assumed I'd automatically have him as my surgeon - I mean, of course I would, right? Methinks not. I felt his bedside manner could use some serious work. If you visit with this doctor, I'd make note of how often you have to initiate the information-gathering questions, as it felt like pulling teeth to me. Nothing truly informative seemed freely offered. The impression I left with was Dr. Satyan seemed unsympathetic about my medical situation, and I felt like just another boat payment for his clinic.
