So, when my portable AC leaked onto my flooring last night, I knew who I was going to contact. I called when they opened, and found out that he was booked for the next week. I decided to send him a message to see if there was a company he would recommend to me. He actually responded immediately and said that he'd be able to squeeze me in! You have no idea how grateful I was to hear that. He gave me two time options, and called me when he was on the way. I had no idea how much water had made its way into my flooring, so I was preparing myself for the worst. Turns out, it didn't end up being a catastrophe! Matthew used a thermal camera, and a moisture meter to inspect for moisture on the floor/subfloor and flex ducting. Once again, he was thorough at his job, and in his communication. It's difficult finding people that take pride in their work, are trustworthy, and do a great job. I've had quite a few companies do various types of jobs for me, and there are only two who I'd recommend. Mathew with Puget Sound Water Rescue is one of them!

My wife had turned on the wrong burner on the stove and everything changed dramatically. The firefighters(who were outstanding) recommended servpro, as did the insurance rep. They arrived within 2 hours of my calling. Our rep was helpful, very precise about the process and very sensitive to our shock and fear. She carefully walked us through the house and detailed the steps that are needed to restore our house to the way it was. Because there was toxic smoke, every single item in the house has to be removed and cleaned, the walls painted, cabinets and appliances replaced. Within minutes of our signing the agreement there was an army of men in moon suits placing air scrubbers and dryers, and more men boxing up our life to be taken out and cleaned. Every single one of these guys is very nice and courteous and they go out of their way to be helpful. We're still deep in the middle of this process(living in a hotel) and it's going to go on for awhile, but the ServPro people have really helped us to understand the cleaning process and to help us relax a little. I can't say enough about how great they've been so far. Update 4/30 It's strange to see your life summed up by what you owned. They've inventoried every bit of food and all of the items in my kitchen that are ruined. It comes to 16 pages - The herbs and spices alone fill two solid pages. Contacted Servpro and they came in and did a very thorough job of drying the place up; including removing the wood flooring; getting underneath the kitchen cabinets (involved putting blocks under the cabinets and then bashing out the "boxes" supporting them to get at the floor underneath); removing baseboards (many, and where do they go); removing the dishwasher; removing the carpet where the water had gone under the wall to a closet, moving the large refrigerator 30'. Two days and nights with 11 blowers and dehumidifiers (loud and hot). BUT BE AWARE these guys then leave! Putting Humpty Dumpty back together again is your problem. Finding wood flooring, reconstruction, painters (for damaged baseboards, which does happen) folks, and re-installing the dishwasher is is YOUR problem.

They cleaned up after themselves beautifully, and even took away old windows that had been dumped in the crawlspace and forgotten about. We found a pipe that was leaking into the crawlspace from the floor above, and that was replaced also; it was a relief not to have to get an outside plumber in to take care of it.
