After we ripped up the entire carpeted space and treated it--I wanted info from a professional to see if there was anything else that we needed to do before getting the affected slab ground down and polished. I spoke with several companies who were unhelpful over the phone or charging ridiculous fees just to come out and provide an estimate. Mathew, the owner of Puget Sound Water Rescue was timely in his responsiveness over the Yelp App (on a Sunday afternoon) and ultimately provided us the perspective and information that we needed to determine whether or not professional remediation services were warranted at this point. Ultimately we determined with his help that they were not. Despite the fact that we did not end up hiring (anyone), his knowledge, honesty, and helpfulness were 5 stars worthy. Highly recommend talking to and/or Mathew for your remediation needs!

He did not try to upsell and seemed very transparent in his assessment. A few other water companies had pressured us to start an insurance claim there and then, saying the work would be more than our $5k deductible. Matthew told us that the water was very small and could be dried out with some DIY strategies. He then also looked at another issue we had and provided honest unbiased information about plumbers and contractors. He also provided a lot of small tips to prevent moisture and leaks in the future. I recommend Matthew as your first call and will definitely seek him out for future water damage needs.

(Used Servpro of Tacoma/Puyallup)…read more We left the kitchen sink running and it overflowed onto the floor, inundating probably 60-70 sq ft. Contacted Servpro and they came in and did a very thorough job of drying the place up; including removing the wood flooring; getting underneath the kitchen cabinets (involved putting blocks under the cabinets and then bashing out the "boxes" supporting them to get at the floor underneath); removing baseboards (many, and where do they go); removing the dishwasher; removing the carpet where the water had gone under the wall to a closet, moving the large refrigerator 30'. Two days and nights with 11 blowers and dehumidifiers (loud and hot). BUT BE AWARE these guys then leave! Putting Humpty Dumpty back together again is your problem. Finding wood flooring, reconstruction, painters (for damaged baseboards, which does happen) folks, and re-installing the dishwasher is is YOUR problem.

My wife had turned on the wrong burner on the stove and everything changed dramatically. The firefighters(who were outstanding) recommended servpro, as did the insurance rep. They arrived within 2 hours of my calling. Our rep was helpful, very precise about the process and very sensitive to our shock and fear. She carefully walked us through the house and detailed the steps that are needed to restore our house to the way it was. Because there was toxic smoke, every single item in the house has to be removed and cleaned, the walls painted, cabinets and appliances replaced. Within minutes of our signing the agreement there was an army of men in moon suits placing air scrubbers and dryers, and more men boxing up our life to be taken out and cleaned. Every single one of these guys is very nice and courteous and they go out of their way to be helpful. We're still deep in the middle of this process(living in a hotel) and it's going to go on for awhile, but the ServPro people have really helped us to understand the cleaning process and to help us relax a little. I can't say enough about how great they've been so far. Update 4/30 It's strange to see your life summed up by what you owned. They've inventoried every bit of food and all of the items in my kitchen that are ruined. It comes to 16 pages - The herbs and spices alone fill two solid pages. And apparently we had a lot of things in Mason Jars. From the list: Mason Jar full of substance Large Mason Jar Unknown Substance 2 small mason Jars w/unknown substance

In September, we found a damp patch of carpet in our basement and a slow leak in our HVAC unit…read more This spread to two rooms, damaging the carpet and big chunks of drywall. We called several emergency water restoration companies, but Green Planet Restoration was the only one able send someone out to access our situation that day. David, our field supervisor, thoroughly inspected the damage and gave us an honest and careful outlook about the restoration process. Optimistically planning on insurance coverage, but realistically expecting denial, he made sure that all work and costs were approved by us before and throughout the insurance process. Thankfully we ended up being covered, and David helped negotiate on our behalf. Olman, our project manager, was attentive and communicative. He kept us up to date with all the work and progress, and helped us coordinate with the workers we had coming and going for several weeks. The crew working on the house was excellent, too! Giovanni walked us through the work, and helped us when we wanted to make adjustments. We made some pretty drastic changes to our spaces, installing LVP in both rooms and painting the wall and ceiling a dark color in one of them. These big upgrades were easily handled. At no point did we ever feel like we were left hanging or out of the loop. Even throughout the payment process, with several hiccups with our insurance checks, they were kind, patient, and understanding. Green Planet Restoration and their team help make a nightmare of a situation much easier to manage. Thank you to the whole team!

We had moisture enter the house due to a…read moreroof leak, and these guys were professional and thorough throughout the entire remediation process. Jesus and Brandon were respectful of the space -- for example, when they had to take down some heavy closet doors and lean them against a wall, they put a cloth between the doors and the wall so as not to scratch the wall. They suggested fixes that in my mind went above and beyond, such as putting a layer of primer on the sheathing to help it resist moisture, should my roof leak again in the future. Hopefully I'll never need them again in the future, but if I do, they'll be the ones I call first.

After that experience, I question both the company's substantive knowledge and their ethics. First, they used some pressuring tactics to try to get me to sign on for their services right away. They urged me to make a homeowners insurance claim right away, saying that the work would surely be more than my $5k deductible. I asked what if we just took some remediation efforts without a claim, and they said just having a dehumidifier and fan in here for several days would already run $3k so I might as well file the claim. They otherwise would not offer an actual estimate for anything. The next day when they reached out to follow up, I said I didn't think it was worth it to file a claim and be out $5k. They then miraculously said they could do remediation for $2-$3k without a claim. I also had them look at another area of the house where we had some mystery water but was now visibly dry. I thought it came from outside rain. The technician said we had a leak and needed a plumber. I got a plumber in later who removed dry wall to look for the leak. There wasn't one. The plumber seemed really trustworthy and replaced a part just in case and was not $$$. But seemed to badly reflect on Robinson.
