Mark is a racist person and some one that will rip you off. He has threatened me with hateful words and threaten to sue me because he wants to rip me off for something he didn't do. We agreed on a price and wanted more afterwards. His initial job was fine and was waiting for the part. He stole the part since I didn't agreed to the extra payment he had forced. I would stay away from this guy. read more

Mark is great! He came out to our house on an emergency call and fixed our broken water heater - getting our full house back up and running with hot water. Fair pricing and work is covered under a year's warranty. Will definitely reach out for any future work. Thanks, Mark! read more

Mark is the best Plumer you can ever find! He's even an amazing person. He doesn't care about the time and will be super patient and clean with his work. He does the best job and doesn't charge per the hour so you don't have to worry about him working slower. He takes his time and does it right. He puts the best made in USA parts and guarantees everything for one year. He's also a great person from the heart and shares a lot of stories while pluming! I would definitely recommend him to anyone. Also the price is lower than other places we called and offered the best service. Thank you Mark! read more

The owner reached out to me regarding an old review for work that had been done prior to us purchasing the house. He came out, did his best to make it right, and fixed the shut off valve for the toilet in our master bath. Plumbing is not an area I get excited about, but I was glad to see the owner reaching out and trying to make things right. read more

Very satisfied with Mark at APT. Quick response, exceptional service and quality, and a really nice guy to boot. Would hire again in case of further superclogs! read more

One of our tenants called Advanced Plumbing Techniques for an emergency kitchen plumbing. They were remarkably fast and efficient. As soon as they were done with that work I encountered an emergency plumbing. I called Mark not sure if they'll go to this other site since they had already worked long hours and it was late in the afternoon but they did. Mark is reliable and the fees are reasonable. We have called them several times for various plumbing issues relared to kitchen bathrooms leaks from ceilings and flooded basement. I have recommended Advanced Plumbing Techniques to relatives and friends. Will continue to use their services. Highly recommend them! read more

I was surprised to read these negative reviews. My experience has been flawless. The team was on time and repaired my shower in less time then expected. I had received a quote and they gave me a (modest) discount . What can I say? Maybe it was a bad day but for me it was no problem. Definitely will call on them again. read more

He is a good plumber he does a good job. Pays attention to detail I would recommend him to anyone

Mark and his team really saved us. They came to our home very quickly and helped us fix our kitchen sink issues.

We found Mark thru a referral. It was new years day and had main line stoppage. Mark came over and did a very thorough analysis to identify the problem. Then he suggested a solution which would last us for few years instead of spending few thousand dollars to get a new pipe. He put lot of effort to make sure job was done right. He also ensured place was nice and clean when he left. We will definitely call him again if we need any plumbing help. His prices are reasonable. read more

Excellent service and reasonable prices. Mark installed a clean-out valve, and noticed a bad gas line. He took a picture and showed it to me, and was able to fix it right away. I called him again to replace a kitchen faucet. He came out that evening and had it installed in about an hour. He is knowledgeable, experienced, and very pleasant. He cleans up after himself, which is a big deal with me. I would recommend Mark to anyone who wants fast, friendly plumbing service. read more

We called Mark Barrows of "Advanced Plumbing Techniques" to see if he had any diggers available. After we fired him, we checked the Cal. Licensing Board and learned there is no such plumber listed. His license came up under two other business names. Gee, Mark! Why give out a fake name ?? But that's just the tip of the iceberg. We had to replace a sewer line. Barrows came with a 2-man crew and quoted $350. It was a filthy job, so we pledged to pay $400. They started late in the day at 2 pm---bad karma for 70 sq ft dig---5 feet deep. Mark Barrows kept badgering me to let him snake the line. I told him NO 3 times. There's no point. We're having it replaced--but against my wishes, he snaked it anyway! (Who does that?) They cleared the line "very well actually" but for how long? The line has 3 separations and roots, so a temp job was pointless. The unwelcome snake job took 1.5 hours away from the dig job--and they completed only 80% of the job. Then his guy (the nice one) broke a water line and we had to cut off the house water. Hahaha. Mark had to drive to the hardware store, get parts and fix it. Then, at 6 pm, they all packed up and left. This 1.5 hours should've been dedicated to the dig---what I paid for !! While his guys (who were extremely nice and hard-working) dug our hole, Mark Barrow sat in a chair on my patio and (literally) imposed himself upon us with one rattled-off tirade after another, everything from the JFK assassination, the moon landing, Hell's Angels and the zodiak killer. The whole time I kept thinking ... "Does my $400 payment OBLIGATE ME to listen to this boring shyte" ?? In fact, he rattled on so fast, that his mouth began to froth, and at one point a big gob of froth hung off his lower lip, which he quickly sucked back into his mouth, in front of me !! GAG !! He was literally talking so much shyte, that his crew guy shouted at him five times to shut up! Further, he brought along 2 little dogs to the job site, who ran around barking. He fed them raw tuna on our patio floor---which he left behind in big, smelly chunks and flies buzzing all around. After he left, he called to discuss the next day's plan. I tried to ask questions but he wouldn't let me speak and kept interrupting me. (And because I have a great sense of humor, I laughed at his "bend me over the dresser joke.") So, I asked why the other 20% of dirt was not dug out. He said, "If we do that it could mean a structural problem." True. In this case, he should've suggested stabilization equipment---but he didn't. They simply left the job unfinished. That night by phone we decided he'd come the next day, do a final walk-through and give me his estimate. He said, "I don't give estimates. I go straight to contract." (Really? I think I'll be the judge of that--imbecile!) The next day, he called again and had no recollection of that conversation. He believed he was coming that morning to actually crack out the sewer line! Really? With my renter still in the unit and his bed and belongings? Yeah, right---imbecile! I reminded him that was not the day plan at all, so he promised to stop by at 11am for the final walk-through. We waited 3.75 hours for him to stop by. He never called. He never replied to 8 texts. He called at 1.30 and said, "I'm on my way," but didn't show up until 2 hours later. One of his texts read ... "On uey" ... I asked 3 times what that meant and he never replied. (I think that was crack-smoke vernacular.) So we FIRED HIM---by text. He left an expensive tool on our patio. I told him to pick it up NOW or we'd leave it outside the gate. Gee ... He arrived in 10 MINUTES to pick it up. Hahaha. By the way, does anyone know the real name of his company? Is it High Desert Plumbing & Sewer ... or Advanced Repipe Specialists? I'm pretty sure Mark Barrows of the alleged "Advanced Plumbing Techniques" is sorry he ever mucked with me. read more

I used this service last year when I had a severe plumbing problem with a house that was over a hundred years old. The guy came out and checked all the cleanouts. When he ran the snake in the drain and it didnt fix the problem, He immidiatly knew what to do. He got on the roof and ran the snake down the the roof drain! It fixed it. I had many other plumbers come out to try to fix the problem but none of them knew to go onto the roof to fix the problem! Im amazed he knew how to fix the problem permanently and im greatful for his services! read more

1 star is an understatement unless you want to be verbally assaulted and threatened. My roommate called to see if they can replace our shower valve. She wasn't sure how much the we were willing to pay since she is only renting a room so she was trying to get us the best rate possible. She nicely told them that she will ask and call her back. Advanced Plumbing Technique's response: "quit *F- expletive*wasting my time you *B-expletive*. Not even five minutes in and this is the treatment we got. Just imagine what they would say to you if you hired them and had a complaint. read more

I have known Mark for several years. His place of business is in our neighborhood. I have had to call Mark when I am having small, yet significant plumbing/water issues in my upstairs bathroom and he has always been very responsive and many times is able to diagnose and fix the problem within a few hours. I often provide him my thoughts on what I can do on my current budget and he works with me to find a good solid solution at the right price point. Mark has always been willing to work with me in a responsive, timely manner. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER. The owner is the only employee, after I turned him down to work on my commercial property, his estimate was out of this world, he smelled like Pot after he came back from his truck with the estimate. After I turned him away, he burned rubber out of my driveway, almost taking out a pedestrian. When I called to complain to there "Main Office", Mark told me to go kill myself. I should have known to run when his dented up, very dirty van pulled up. I dont see how he can work out of a van that looks like a dump in the back, and garbage falling out when he went to retrive a light to see the work I needed done. (the way he talked I could also tell he was not trained in any aspect of Plumbing. read more

Mark came out and provided very quick service in saving our laundry room from a water disaster. What I appreciated most about his service (which was different from the 3 other plumbers I called before him) was that he actually showed up when he said he would. Every other plumber told me they would arrive in less than 45 minutes but didn't...it was a sorry attempt on their part to keep my business and come when they were actually free. However, with a water hose spraying all over my laundry room (and then no water for the entire house with four small kids inside it for hours while we wait to fix the hose and turn it back on) waiting for plumbers who didn't show was unacceptable. Mark was the first plumber who told me the truth, and I considered that a good sign for starting off a business relationship. He said it would take him 50 minutes but that he would drive as quickly as possible. He beat his time and completed the job quickly. Yea Mark. If I need another plumber, I will be sure to call Advanced Plumbing. read more

Mark came out to help with a plumbing job on my rental property. He was quick to respond and did an excellent job. He was a life saver and knew what the county inspectors were referring to and how to take care of the issues I had. I am a happy customer. I will continue to use him in the future and pass business his way. Can't say enough great things. Fair price too. read more

DISHONEST, DO NOT USE! The company replaced my pipes about 5 years ago and I am still dealing with the issues. Certain parts were skipped, other parts were leaking. They wrecked the ducts under my house and the drywall where they patched had to be redone. read more

So... if you are looking for a well qualified plumber, who shows up when he says he will... .Mark Barrows is your guy. My husband found Advanced Plumbing on Craigslist, after calling two other plumbers who wouldn't even return a phone call. Mark called back and made arrangements to come all the way to Gilroy after he finished his other job. He showed up, looked at the problem, discussed what he was going to do, ran to get parts (he didn't bring his truck down) and was back and had the problem completely fixed within an hour and a half. Then he took a look at our "broken" kitchen faucet (it was brand new but contractors who installed our counters told us they broke it). He looked at the manual, climbed under the sink, and had it running perfectly within 5 minutes. His charges were very reasonable for all the work he did, and he was very professional. We will definitely call him again if we ever need a dependable, reliable plumber. He also does tile and concrete work... and ... yes.. he is a licensed contractor! What a great find for us! Thank you for a job well done Mark! read more

I called Mark again two weeks ago on another plumbing emergency, this time a toilet clogged by what he finally discovered was my granddaughter's toy cup. This is the third time he has helped us in three years, each time efficient and professional. He was on our doorstep in 45 minutes in two of the cases that were rush jobs. Very amiable. Cost has always been reasonable. read more

I've used Advanced Plumbing Techniques about 3 times over two-three years for different plumbing difficulties. Mark, the owner, has responded to phone calls by the end of the business day. He came to the house at the time he said even though some of the calls were in the late evening and/or on the weekend. His work ethics were exemplary. One time he dug to the main sewer line in pouring rain and he waited around the next day until the city inspector came (and you know how iffy inspector's time can be) The inspector did not want to get too muddy, but Mark got into the hole and the work passed inspection. The last work he did was on the water heater. He was at my door at 7:20 a.m. after getting the parts and finished the job in 15 minutes because he knew what he was doing. read more

We needed to replace a bathroom faucet due to a major leak. Mark came out promptly- on a Saturday, gave us a fair price, a solid installation. What more can you ask for? Mark is great! He did copper re-piping of my house and He finished it in one day. He has a good group of people who can do the job right. We called Mark from Advanced Plumbing Technique at 10:30 pm and he was at our house first thing in the morning (he offered to come right when we called him but we said let's do it in the morning). He installed a clean out line, cleared the main line, put in a new toilet, and did a a variety of other things for us. He explained everything very clearly, seemed knowledgable, and gave us a few different options to choose from. The price was very reasonable. I would recommend Mark to anyone in need of a plumber. read more

Mark is extremely unprofressional. Just needed to have toilet reset. He was careless with handling of toilet and chipped porcelin off the side even though i asked him repeatedly to be more careful. His apprentice was courteous and thankfully was willing clean up after the big mess Mark was making. He didn't come with necessary tools and supplies either-so i need to loan him several things. He agreed to a price over the phone but once he began work insisted on charging an extra 10 dollars. Then he couldn't provide me with a receipt and offered to white out someone elses receipt that was all crumbled up. Told him that wasn't going to fly so he agreed to drop me off a receipt. Then I had to call him several times over the next week to get receipt and he told me that he mailed it, of course he never did. Then he had nerve to tell me he wasn't going to drop it off at all. Don't waste your time with this plumber. read more
