I'm giving negative stars! Watch out docs put false info and comments with no proof of anything in your medical records.

I then chose to go forward with surgery and was told that she doesn't perform surgery. I was referred to an Austin clinic. Recently I injured my ACL, my PCP sent over a new referral for this particular injury. I was all set , so I thought . I got a call three days prior to my appointment and was told my appointment needed to be canceled. I asked what day it would be rescheduled and was informed that it would not be rescheduled. No reason given I was just turned away. I'm back to square one . Shame on this office putting me in this position prolonging my pain and discomfort. I offer zero stars due to my experiences.

The injury did not seem…read moreparticularly serious until the next day, when swelling and pain caused me to seek treatment at Seton Medical Center Hays in Kyle. During the ER visit there, X-rays were taken, showing no broken bones. I was issued a knee immobilizer and a pair of crutches and referred to Dr. Christina Sheely, DO. It was late when I was discharged from the ER, but I immediately called Dr. Sheely's office to try to schedule a follow up. I was told that they had not received the referral from the hospital, but they would contact me as soon as they did to schedule an appointment. By late afternoon on Thursday, August 20th, I had not heard from them, so I called and was told that my insurance required a referral, not from the ER, but from my PCP. I contacted my Primary Care Provider's office and they got the referral in on Friday, August 21st. Finally, I was able to schedule an appointment for Thursday, August 27th. Only nine days after the initial injury! The office visit seemed to go well enough, in spite of the fact that Dr. Sheely popped in for all of one minute to concur with her PA's decision that an MRI was called for. I was told that they would get authorization from my insurance and submit the order for the MRI to Radiology at Seton Medical Center Hays. Realizing that such things can take time, I waited. And waited. Until September 2nd, I waited before calling Dr. Sheely's office back to see why there was such a delay in my treatment. I was told by the referral department that there was no order in their system for an MRI. Since that department had no knowledge of why that order wasn't there, I was sent to the voicemail box of Nancy, the medical assistant. I left a detailed message and awaited a response. The following day, I had an appointment with another doctor in the same building and stopped by Dr. Sheely's office to inquire about the situation. I was told that the order was, in fact, in their system and was presented with a copy. I immediately called Seton Medical Center Hays Radiology, who informed me that no such order had been sent to them. It was then that I noticed the date on the order - September 2, 2015. The previous day. So, there was no order when I called. Turns out, there was no request to my insurance, either. That was submitted, according to the insurance company, on September 3rd. So, the 24 to 72 hour approval process, that should have been complete by August 31st, at the very latest, didn't even start until four days after that. Best case scenario, thanks to a 3-day weekend, is that I may get authorization on September 8th; another Tuesday. Exactly three Tuesdays since my injury. If that happens, I have no reason to expect that Sheely's (sorry, I'm just dropping the honorific at this point) office will act promptly on that. Still, even if they do, maybe I get an MRI a couple of days later. That will be Thursday, September 10th. I've lost count, but I think that's three weeks since I saw (glimpsed) her. Is there even still a need for an MRI? I could have grown a new limb by now. As you can imagine, I hardly expect any visit to her office for the results of the image to be scheduled in a timely fashion. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt, though, and assume they get me in the following Tuesday. That will be four weeks since the injury. Damn fine emergency care, Seton! I really hate that this happened. It's my first, and possibly only, impression of this Seton associate. Still, it has ruined my high opinion of the whole organization. My previous visits to their hospital have been about as good as you can expect. I am a big fan of my PCP, David Clampitt, and my Hematologist, Boone Goodgame. Also, it is worth noting that Sheely's PA, Grace, was amazing, as well. Still for a practice to drop the ball this badly, and prevaricate about that drop, is beyond the pale. I won't say they came right out and lied to me about what was sent or when, but trying to sell their ignorance as fact doesn't inspire loyalty, it inspires contempt. In short, I don't know if I still trust the giant corporation that I have entrusted my well-being to. If I were to advise others on this, I'd advise them to weigh all their options carefully before picking Seton.

She was provided with an iPad to sign in, but required assistance, which the two ladies present, Annie and Valencia, were unable to offer. My mother returned later with my son, who assisted her. I contacted your office to obtain the names of the receptionists involved and was told that Annie and Valencia were the staff members on duty. Annie mentioned that there were many patients waiting, which was inaccurate, as only two people were in the waiting room. Patients requiring medical attention may want to consider alternative options. The customer service provided was inadequate. Upon my mother's return, Valencia was too busy conversing to acknowledge her. They need customer service training and should probably find a different field to work in! 0 stars

When I arrived Wednesday they had to get the manager on the phone and find the girl I talked to the other day. They then told me I misunderstood what she said and would still have to pay the co pay. I then walked out. Completely unprofessional.

Dr. Henke then tried to get me to purchase Advocare from his wife (who is not in the medical field) and gave me all of her information. The night before my surgery I just started to feel nervous about it, so I canceled and got three other opinions from orthopedic doctors who all said that the only reason I would need surgery was if my bones were not aligned, which they are. Therefore, the surgery was not necessary. Overall, he was very nice during my visit, but the whole experience made me feel a little taken advantage of and mistrusting of him and his practice.

He refused to perform a needed procedure in a medical facility he has rights to perform in because she "should be able to have it done in the office." His office staff is the most unprofessional staff I have EVER had the displeasure of doing business with in any medical professional capacity for my kid. Dr. Henke himself was rude, condescending, and treated my child poorly. Despite our initial distaste for him personally, we chose to continue scheduling a needed procedure because my kid was in pain. How wrong were we!?! His staff called to tell us Dr. Henke would ONLY perform the procedure on the 2nd floor despite it not being covered by our insurance because he refused to go to Seton (even though he has the ability) because my kid should be able to do the procedure in the office. I had already disclosed to him in great detail the reasons she was not able (and I am not listing here in order to maintain privacy) and I would be happy to provide whatever documentation necessary to convince him of her legitimate need, and ensure insurance coverage. Luckily, I record every call that comes into/out of my phone and have record of this because we will be following up with an Office of Civil Rights/ADA complaint. Alicia later called me and assured me she had in fact secured coverage on the 2nd floor and we were fine to proceed with having it done there. Well, Alicia is AWFUL. Think trying to do business with a teen valley girl with a wad of gum in her mouth the whole time you are talking. Coverage was not secured and the day before we were scheduled we received a call that WE would need to obtain a single case agreement and our insurance would not let their office obtain this. (Funny, other offices have obtained their own single case agreement. Thank you, Sage Recovery for your professionalism!) Single case agreement can only be obtained if there is a network deficiency. There is no deficiency here. Just a doctor who refuses to provide services to children with special needs because he himself has determined they "should be able to have it done in office bc it is such a small procedure." After all that, they offer to reschedule at Seton after all. At this point, no thanks! We have found a reasonable, compassionate, and professional podiatry office with Dr. Golf, who even though he performs minor procedures in a surgery center, is happy to go to Seton Southwest since it is in network, and has treated my kid and me with the utmost dignity and respect.
