they don't care about the patien, I had been with another pain doctor for 5 years because of some scheduling errors, I had to change pain doctOra I was set up on a pain management that worked for me, they immediately changed it now I'm in constant pain. I was told this is the way they do things, not caring what was working for me. If you can find another pain management doctor please do so I do not recommend these people read more

If you like being treated like dirt, this is the place for you. I never got past the receptionist before I walked out. The poor old man in front of me was also mistreated because they couldn't find his paperwork. Go someplace else. The doctors may be fine, but the office staff is awful. I had an Intrathecal Pump implant Thursday. Yesterday they contacted me to follow-up as is customary for post-operative procedures. I was not doing very well yesterday. Dr. Dennis, Laura and Allie went above expectations to ensure I started to feel comfortable. Things are slowly, very slowly, improving. This is why I chose Dr. Dennis and his team & why I will not go anywhere else. read more

I have had chronic lower back pain for over 40 years and a friend who is a pharmacist recommended Dr Dennis to me. I tried the injections with no lasting results, and at times zero relief at all. I was given a prescription for Methocarbamol and acetaminophen with codeine which is OTC in some countries. It appears that there is a queen bee in his office that wants to run things. I'm treated like a junkie and when I needed refills I had to jump through hoops for the office girls. The wanna be Doctors denied me refills for my prescriptions for my back pain. They count the pills, and require me to drive 2 1/2 hrs to take a piss test. One obese girl shoved a paper in my face showing me when I got my previous refills and she thought that was not kosher. She acted like she'd solved the Kennedy assassination. Facts are, I work in Dallas, 2 1/2 hrs away and I just don't want to run out. I have never exceeded the number of pills prescribed for the month. A girl, who is a PA tried to talk me into getting an electrical stimulator installed under my skin. The guy at the Surgery Center said it wasn't worth doing. I'm 74 years old and I'm not going to have some $26,000 yr make up policy restricting my medical care. They simply make stuff up. Every time I've gone in there they have different personal. This is not a high end place. I've since ask my personal physician to handle my prescriptions so I can get away from this act. read more

For me 'the pain didn't stop here'. I took the gamble on the PRP injection and didn't get my money's worth. (The injection is not covered by insurance.) The pain in my hip is as severe now as it was before PRP. The Doctor was professional and courteous but didn't have a solution that reduced my hip pain. I'm still looking for a solution! read more

They did not meet my expectations nor did they help me with what I asked for, they made a judgment call and said I do not require meds ! I don't recommend this facility! Dr Chen is a pompous idiot! The clinical staff is great! They are informative, knowledgeable and have great bedside manner. However, the admin staff is terrible they make you feel very unimportant, it' seems like you are bothering them to make or change an appointment. When you are dealing with doctors and physicians pertaining to your health you want to feel comfortable and cared about, that is definitely not how I feel when I speak with anyone on the admin staff. I will be looking for another rheumatologist and pain management provider moving forward. read more

My low rating is due to the answering staff. I have had them directly dismiss what the doctor or attendant has told me when trying to either make an appointment in a timely manner or get a prescription refilled. I will explain my situation and tell them EXACTLY what the doctor or attendant has told me, and it's like talking to a brick wall. They do not listen or try to help in any way. Sometimes they supposedly "talk" to a manager, but come back with no solution. I do not appreciate being ignored and treated so rudely. Instead of trying to really rectify the situation, they spend the time arguing back. That is not professional at all. Today I finally just said what I had to say, said good-bye, and hung up. I don't know who to try to call or contact to rectify this situation. It is so frustrating!!! I guess I will have to go without medication again for several days, which the doctor's attendant specifically told me NOT to do. This has happened before, and when I told the attendant, she said to just explain my situation, and they would fit me in. Well, I did that, and it got me absolutely nowhere. Oh -- and NOW they are using COVID as an excuse. I wish I knew who to contact. I've been seeing them for over 3 years, and their service stinks!!! I've read all of the 5 star reviews and agree with all of the compliments and evaluations given. The entire staff at Advanced Pain Care are awesome and second-to-none! I am always greeted by cheerful, Lucy! Dr. Allen Dennis, MD is fantastic! Advanced Pain Care uses Round Rock Surgery Center for injections, and the latter is also fantastic. The staff at Round Rock Surgery Center are cheerful, affirming, highly professional, and very caring! They are all top-notch! Today, some of the staff who were supportive to me were Karen, Jill, Andrew, and Joe, and this is just to name a few people. Dr. Allen Dennis, MD was my physician today for my injection and is the physician who is taking care of me. Today, I had the honor to meet Dr. Mark Malone MD, who owns Round Rock Surgery Center. I told him how much I appreciate the staff at Round Rock Surgery Center. You can trust Advanced Pain Care and Round Rock Surgery Center! Trust me! Amen, and amen! Today 1/10/18), I had a new hip injection by Dr. Allen Dennis at Round Rock Surgery Center. Dr. Dennis is outstanding! All of the people who helped me were great, such as Lisa, Ida, Jean, and Joe, who gave me the sedation. I feel Great about the office staff at the Williams Drive location who are outstanding include Alyssa, Teri, Stephanie B., Stephanie Jand Summer. Updating as of April 3, I had an injection by Dr. Mark Boswell yesterday. I feel so good today after a restful day after my injection and a good night's sleep. Many thanks to Dr. Boswell and the following staff and nurses at Round Rock Surgery Center: Crystal, Trish, Egg, Mike and Angie! I can highly recommend Advanced Pain Care and Round Rock Surgery Center! My most recent injection on 2/21/2019 at Round Rock Surgery Center was supported by the following awesome staff there: Andrew Angie Trish Richard - Anesthesiologist Lyssa Lashawn Katherine Harris Allie Smith - Follow-Up on 2/22/2019 Dr. Allen Dennis is fabulous and I always go to him for my injections. The wait to be called in at the exam room was too long. It took an hour to be called in at the exam room on my appointment in May this year. Same thing happened again on my follow up November 4th appointment. My follow up appointment was at 8 am and was called in at 9 am in the exam room. The reason for the wait was they had to verify my insurance and they have not heard from them. So I was waiting in the waiting room for that? Why verify on the date of the appointment? I've been with Dr Pegram and with Nikki, the NP for years and they are great. But their management & staff is what I was complaining about. I took the earliest appointment so I could come and go but NO. So upsetting to see people come and go who came after me and so because of this, they just lost a patient. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! Absolute WORST admin staff. Wouldn't know about the doctor. Never saw him. They overbook and then take patients first come first served. The over under on the appointment was an hour and a half. The one in Round Rock is great. Super nice staff, clean, secure. This place, however, is the reason people hate going to the doctors. Go anywhere else!! Save yourself. The rude receptionist invented a new circle in hell. If first impressions matter, you need to hire competent reception staff. And when I said you needed to get your 'effing shit together. I meant you need to get your 'effin shit together and learn to schedule patients properly not like you are just in for the money from turning numbers. Which clearly you are. Dr Malone, I am your longest attending patient and including your employees. You have been an answer to prayer. You met my husband once and then later you were very kind when I lost my husband. I first was treated for fibromyalgia and migrain headaches. The list grew to 6 back surgeries, then fell and broke my neck leading to 4 neck surgeries. I've had every part that can be removed, out. You have treated me honorably, fair and with kindness. I thank you so much. I do realize you get nothing but grief from insurance and gov. They serve the almighty dollar. You treat people. I have had 3 falls recently and Dr. Ryan got me in for a procedure as soon as he could. This was yesterday, Monday. I had asked to speak to you and you weren't there. I asked to speak to Dr.Ryan but they put me to sleep too fast. So I'm writing to you and hope that you get this. I do miss getting to see you. I asked Dr.Ryan to let me try oxy 60 mil tid instead of the 80 mil. I was able to do this, not perfectly but liveable. My last appt on 4/10/18 Dr. Ryan moved it to bid not tid. I told him it wouldn't work. After 3 falls and this procedure, it is not going to work. Some people may be doing bad things but I have never failed you. Please would you give me the 30 extra oxy to make it 60 mil tid? I get my medicine at Lockhart HEB. Maybe call it breakthru pain. My care has always been in your hands. You know what pain is, you have walked thru that fire. I will be 70 in August. Chronic pain is not quality of life. Sometimes I have acute pain but this lessons. Please, give this to Dr.Malone. Just tried to make an appointment....just changed jobs and have not been able to set up new insurance...was asked the form of payment to use..I stated cash...she said that they cannot help me...that without insurance they cannot take cash on a new patient....sooooo, if I have the ability to pay cash, I still cannot see the dr....wow, what has this world come to...basically, even though I have the ability to pay for this care, unless I can file this on insurance, they will not see me.....crazy read more

After seeing a pain management doctor who shall not be named (like Voldemort from the Harry Potter books) who seemed content to overmedicate me, I found Dr. Dennis. I had acute sciatica pain after a back surgery. Dr . Dennis kept me comfortable on appropriate narcotics and performed two injections (with sedation) to isolate the cause of my pain. He then injected me with medication that dissolved the scar tissue that was strangling my sciatic nerve - lysis of adhesions. Imagine! A pain management doctor who actually finds and fixes the cause of the pain! Most importantly, Dr. Dennis helped me taper off the pain meds and gave me a couple days of anti-anxiety meds. He didn't just leave me to suffer through opiate withdrawals. Dr. Dennis is smart, compassionate, and stopped my pain in just two months. If you have chronic pain please see Dr. Dennis. I have been going to the Georgetown office for almost two years. During most of that time I did not have a problem. In the last three months, every time I went in it felt like there was something wrong. I admit once was my fault for taking a medication from the dentist for my root canal. They made me feel like I was the most horrible person in the world. Now, their "policy" prevented me from going on my planned family vacation because I simple can't travel while I was hurting. I have migraines so bad many days I can't get out of bed with out medication, somedays even with medication, and to go on a trip like that is impossible. I get sick and have to throw up regularly and that's not fun traveling. (Oh, and throwing up medication is not a reason to be short on your monthly medicine count, just a heads up. It just means you are a druggy) PA said the pain medication doesn't help the migraine, I beg to differ since I have had them all my life and it does help with the pain. FYI, I ask for the meds one day early. EVEN though the PA had assured me she would send in my medication. "I'll take care of you" were her exact words. So to punish me for asking, they decided to put my medications off an additional 2 days because two months ago I was short due to a horrible month with my daughter's domestic violence situation. Again, all along knowing I would not be back in town to pick them up for a week. Geez, reason I ask for them. I called to ask why she didn't call it in, and she would not talk to me and after waiting for 5 hours I called back and was told they couldn't reach my provider, but would call me back if they could get them before 5:30 (ON A FRIDAY). Just said: policy said it's not time yet. I know this sounds like a rant from someone who just wanted the drugs. Not the case, it is that they didn't even care enough to call me, tell me the truth or acknowledge I am a person in pain. For many people, pain is real and affects all aspects of their life. read more

I am a Military Veteran and this place treated me badly. During my initial visit things with Dr. Dennis went well. I called to praise his work and the clinic Manager happily accepts my call. However, when I went in to get my injections- in the RR Surgery Center- apparently the Dr. And staff were on their way to a long awaited vacation after my procedure. I told everyone in the room that I have TMJ (jaw nerve pain) which violently flared up mid procedure from having to lay face down on a card table with no support for my head. I screamed when it flared but once Dr. Dennis figured out it wasn't HIS fault....he continued to FORCE the hot lava like concoction into my lower back. I complained but no one EVER returned my calls and 2 yrs later, the injection sites STILL hurt. read more

I agree with the review of the doctors and nurses; however, the administration staff and the appointment process are the worst I have ever been exposed to. And that is saying a lot. I stayed with the doctors, even with the wait times on the phone, that lead to "leave a message" that then lead to, "this mail box is full"-- but my most recent encounter with the administration staff, while trying to renew a prescription (not for pain medication, ie not controlled) was a horrific event. In midst of a conversation the admin actually laughed at me, then talked over me so that I finally had to say shut up and listen. I hate to be pushed to that point, and I am pretty sure others do too. In this age of customer great customer experience, I cannot believe a reputable establishment would put someone on the phone who could not properly engage with distraught customers. So sad that these fine physicians will have their reputations tarnished as a result of incompetent and uncaring administrators. read more

Relocated to this area and saw Dr. Dennis twice, then left me in the care of his nurse practitioner Stephanie who would manage meds and on one occasion forgot to call the meds in and had to go 4 days before she had them filled after placing two calls to the office to remind them. I was also seen by Dr. Mark Boswell on one occasion. I have been a chronic pain patient for 12 years and have seen many doctors. Dr. Allen, Dr. Boswell and Stephanie all told me my case was a difficult one, however asked me to be patient with me because they sincerely wanted to help me. Well that was a load of crap. They referred me to Dr. Andre Chen who was a complete nightmare, treated me like an addict and berated me about the meds my psychologist and endocrinologist prescribed me. I refused to let Dr. Andre talk down to me, so I walked out. I then tried to set up an appointment with Dr. Allen and he refused to see me because I walked out on Dr. Chen. Instead, he had his office manager Lacy do his dirty work for him and inform us of his decision. He left me without pain meds (I was only on one) and I suffered with unbearable pain. Dr. Allen did not have the spine to at least consult with me, instead he sided with his colleague joke of a doctor (Dr. Chen) and left me to fend for myself without meds. They would tell me that the combination of the one pain med and the meds prescribed by my psychologist and endocrinologist were dangerous but never offered any recommendations as to which ones should be stopped. I have to differ with the 5 star ratings for Dr. Allen. In my case, he showed no care or concern for my pain and did not have the integrity to consult me after the pathetic experience with Dr. Chen. read more

I was new in town and went to Advanced Pain Care for my pain meds. I had a pre-existing back injury and my previous dr's had me on specific medications. Dr. Dennis and his nurses didn't want to listen and tried a number of their medications which made me nauseous or were too strong before eventually switching to the ones I had mentioned. Then Dr. Dennis recommended what he referred to as a "simple" procedure to remove some of the scar tissue that had built up around my spine from previous surgeries. It was an epidural but my insurance wouldn't cover it. They said it was experimental but Dr. Dennis kept pushing it so I paid out of pocket. They made me sign a waiver before the procedure. The moment I woke up I knew something was wrong. I was ice cold, pins and needles numb and in pain from the waist down. Dr. Dennis gave me the max amount of pain meds he could give then sent me home. X-rays showed a huge hematoma on my nerve. I now have severe nerve damage, muscular dystrophy and drop foot. I have had to go to the ER twice for pain. I've been out of work for the last six plus months. I never got a refund or even an apology from Dr. Dennis. They wanted to put in a nerve stimulator but I wouldn't let them touch my back after messing me up the first time. I've switched to a different pain management doctor since. read more

When it comes time for a man in his life to actually need help because of the natural aging process and some of the presents that our bodies gives us due to maybe growing up having to much fun riding motorcycles, horses, and all the other beatings we give ourselves all in the name of fun or even just have a bad accident and you find yourself in pain. It is a tough spot. Asking for help....... and not being able to just pull yourself up by your boot straps is no longer an option. Seeking help for pain shouldn't be a painful process nor should you have to go to 5 places to accomplish one task. I was very unhappy with my previous provider so I call Advance pain Care...From the minute I spoke with the Ashley up until I meet the Nurse Steve and Doc Dennis I felt like I was cared for treated amazing listened too and that my readers.... is what customer service and medical attention should feel like. I would recommend this facility to anyone who needs this type of service in their life. They say customer service is dead America and that is not true not everywhere and surely not here. I attend this facility once a month to manage my pain levels. The reason I am writing another review, is because I want the reader of this comment to understand there is hope. I believe Dr Dennis and all of his staff members empathizes with each patients pain and fear. They are friendly, courteous, professional, and caring. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to see a staff member or doctor. I believe this reduces the stress associated with just going to the appointment. The staff not only address the physical issues, but they want to know the impact of the psychological aspect associated with the levels of pain. Each patient is treated with the utmost respect and I know I will be meeting with someone who cares about how I feel and they will work with me to review options to help me feel better. Visited with Dr. Boswell about my complicated migraine/occipital and trigeminal neuralgias. He seemed on the ball my regarding condition. We discussed the possibility of needing nerve blocks and he gave the impression it wouldn't be a problem. Called in on a Monday, ooo sorry, he didn't put in any orders regarding nerve blocks. Could it be done, I asked? Yes and we will get it approved through your insurance. I called in three days later, and no it was not approved. I was surprised. Upon many conversations over two days what they actually did, was go online and read a document on the insurance website and made the determination from this document the nerve block would not be covered. When I told them, I'd had previous blocks with coverage, the staff argued with me and told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I had to force them to take the insurance phone number to get precertified for the blocks. I have no idea if they plan to call. So, in order to get the relief I need/require I'll have to pay out of pocket because of their inability to listen to the patient or to make a phone call to confirm coverage. A sad state of affairs. Will have to look elsewhere for assistance. read more
