I am incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Justin Houman. After nearly 20 years of recurring…read moretesticular pain and consultations with multiple urologists, I discovered him through extensive research. I ultimately traveled from the East Coast to California specifically to be evaluated by him, and I am very thankful that I made that decision. From the moment I walked into the office, I felt comfortable, respected, and genuinely cared for. Having an all-male staff also made it easier to discuss such personal and sensitive concerns. They easily understood my issue and I appreciated the privacy, professionalism, and dignity I experienced throughout my visit. Dr. Houman is exceptionally knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. He took the time to truly listen to my concerns and experiences, explained everything clearly, and answered all of my questions without ever making me feel rushed or dismissed. I also appreciated having ultrasound capabilities available in the office, which made the evaluation convenient and efficient. What stood out to me most was the combination of excellent medical care and a welcoming, respectful environment. After dealing with this issue for so many years, it meant a great deal to finally have a physician who took the time to listen carefully and provide thoughtful care. I am extremely grateful for the care I received from Dr. Houman and his entire team. I would sincerely recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled, compassionate, respectful, and trustworthy urologist. Traveling across the country to see him was absolutely worthwhile, and I will continue to see him for my future urological needs.

He is incredibly smart and clearly very knowledgeable, but what really sets him apart is his patience and genuine curiosity. He takes the time to listen, asks thoughtful questions, and never makes you feel rushed or dismissed. Dr. Tran explains everything clearly and thoroughly, making sure you actually understand what's going on, which is rare and so appreciated. On top of that, he is genuinely kind, compassionate, attentive, and deeply respectful. You can tell he truly cares about his patients, not just their symptoms. It's rare to find a physician who combines intelligence, patience, curiosity, and kindness so seamlessly. I feel extremely lucky to have been treated by Dr. Victor Tran and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for an outstanding doctor.

This office was one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had. The staff was rude,…read moredismissive, and acted like patients were an inconvenience rather than the reason the office exists. The entire place felt disorganized and unprofessional. The doctor was not much better and came across as rushed, easily annoyed, and completely uninterested in actually listening. Any attempt to explain symptoms or ask questions seemed to irritate them. If your situation is even slightly difficult, don't expect much patience or effort. The appointment felt like the goal was simply to get you in and out as quickly as possible. For a place that is supposed to provide medical care, there was very little care actually involved. Prepare to feel manipulated. Office is money hungry. The annual fee is a joke. Apparently paying extra doesn't mean better care -- it just means you're paying extra. Expect nothing except extreme hostility. Terrible experience, disgraceful actually. Save yourself the time, money, and aggravation and look elsewhere. Seriously avoid at all costs.

I see Kevin Rauchut, who is one of the most caring human beings and extremely thorough in his questions, and I always feel confident in his responses. Kevin spends time with me to thoroughly assess what needs to be assessed and answers my questions. He is non-judgmental and offers his opinion and also respects my autonomy. He has been wonderful in also asking about my life as a whole and learning about me. It's helpful to normalize when we might be going through tough times and also have someone to celebrate wins. The front desk and reception are all very friendly and helpful. I'm always receiving immediate call-backs if I can't reach someone and leave a message. I also appreciate that APLA Health allows patients to use other locations and providers if needed, without forcing people to use the same provider. I do try to see Kevin, but sometimes if I need a referral for physical therapy, or something else with immediacy, then it's really convenient to be able to make an appointment with whomever has the earliest availability. I really enjoy going to this location, in the heart of West Hollywood. The colors of the rooms reflect the LGBTQIA+ community. The bloodwork is done on the same floor so there's no need to separate it out from the appointment. Other non-APLA Health facilities are starting to require that patients make a separate appointment for bloodwork, which creates a barrier. I'm so happy APLA Health truly makes an concerted effort to reduce barriers. Kevin Rauchut also goes into detail as to different options so I am able to make a decision on my own but with helpful guidance from a professional. I never feel like I'm alone. I used to go to the Olympic office as my main location, but then Kevin moved over to the WeHo location. There's a modern yet intimate feel that's a perfect combination. I never feel rushed, and the portal messages are convenient as the staff can let me know if questions require appointments or not. I do appreciate the option of a phone call, but I hope APLA Health can consider a video telehealth platform, even if it's not with our main provider. It would be very convenient to have someone who is looking at our chart and able to discuss things virtually through video, and not only through audio. APLA Health has been impacted by federal-level funding cuts, so please donate if you can. They are worth it!!!

I keep it real and honest no bullshit .... The truth is a hard pill to swallow…read more. Wow reading some of the reviews so I'm not the only one who feels this way..... guess this has been an on going problem .. Nobody likes going to the doctor especially when you feel horrible and very sick. I always dread going here . And here's why. Dr Lavi "himself " is really great... He really knows how to treat you ....if you get to see him. The rest of some of his staff should all be fired . Bunch of clowns... Dr Lavi expects patients to respect his staff which I will always do but if a pattern continues then I will speak up.. Let me begin. Since I've been going there I've always been treated very poorly by the staff. There front desk staff is very rude treat you like shit have zero personality skills or seems to even care. Their demeanor is pathetic and all should not be working. At a doctors office . I even asked the male doctor with curly hair why is your front desk staff so rude. He said because they think everyone that comes in is entitled. I've never said hurry up or what's taken so long . It's a medical practice and things take time it was it is . So they already judge you just by walking in.. be very mindful and watch there behavior. It's not like any other medical clinic. To me It feels like they don't wanna be there. I thought this was a place I felt comfortable and safe , oh no! Ever since they posted the sign must wear a mask no exceptions. I've always been singled out While everyone else's doesn't have to ... and if you happen to forgot one they don't provide masks . You have to pay 10 dollars for one. Yep there's still more . I asked the staff why do you have a sign posted and in big letters no exceptions and my visit today. Nobody had a mask on.. the front desk rep replied we're not enforcing it today. So every other time that I've come in, with other people in the waiting room they only enforce it on me even if I'm not coughing . Backstory I was super sick a few weeks ago out of work struggling with money and they have the nerve to charge 40 dollars to fax papers , 3 papers with a signature and a few check marks in boxes that your able return to your work. I was upset and thought that was absolutely ridiculous with speaking to my insurance saying it's supposed to cover all coasts . . It's not illegal to do that but ethical when someone going through a hard time. Did I mention it was 40 dollars. !! Absolutely disgusting Then one of the so called nurses think it was Damien said arrogantly well it's only $40.00. I said it is coming out of your pocket, and he replied you work don't you ? I replied yes but I'm out of work right now and I'm obviously here so who are you to tell me it's only $40.00 what a real asshole. Very unprofessional to treat someone like that in the medical field.. a lot of times they'll have students there helping you out taking you into a room going over some information. I had a server cough virus ,And when you mention that you have anything extra , for me it was something very important a sever infection to be looked the student who takes you in r replies we'll see if we have time for it. Such a wonderful feeling place it go to and feel cared for. and supposedly someone more qualified comes in and goes over What's going on. The virus has to run its course so rest hydration, the basics to take care of yourself. About 2 weeks ago when I went to get the infection checked out it was healing, And the so called more qualified doctor recommended to see a wound specialist. but since going there about a month ago, I had to go to the ER and have the doctor drain it then the surgical team come out drain it even very painful packet go on antibiotics for a few weeks . . I'm thinking to myself why did the so-called doctor not refer me to a wound specialist from the beginning? It's very upsetting and disappointing think you'll get the proper care you need. Maybe look up the definition of certified versus qualified. Today I received a letter from the clinic a signed document by Dr Lavi that they let me go due to my behavior. My behavior was I was loud to the staff upset questioning how can you treat a patient like this for there quality of care . I never disrespected them with any fowl moth or behavior ... now I have to go find a new primary care doctor and that not always easy .....so here's my response letter , and personal experience review. they can go Fuck themselves....

I have now had TWO appointments canceled at the last minute after waiting MONTHS to be seen. What…read moremakes this especially frustrating is that the clinic calls repeatedly during the week before the appointment to confirm -- only to cancel THE NIGHT BEFORE. Unfortunately, this has not been an isolated problem. My experience has involved constant administrative errors, problems with the referral department, mistakes by medical assistants, difficulty scheduling appointments, disconnected calls, and hours -- sometimes days -- spent trying to reach supervisors just to correct problems that should never have happened in the first place. The call center experience is extremely inconsistent. Some representatives are mature, professional, and genuinely helpful, while others speak so quickly that it is difficult to follow them, can be rude or dismissive, or simply fail to resolve the issue. Reaching someone by phone to make or correct an appointment can feel nearly impossible. Trying to escalate problems has not helped. Managers and supervisors often do not return calls, leaving the patient to repeatedly follow up and explain the same situation again. Even after arriving at the clinic, I have experienced additional errors involving the nursing/medical assistant staff. Patients seeking medical care are already dealing with health concerns. They should not have to spend hours chasing staff, correcting repeated administrative mistakes, dealing with extreme delays, and wondering whether an appointment they waited months for will suddenly disappear the night before. The amount of time and stress this clinic's administrative problems have added to the process is unacceptable. There may be individual employees here who are professional and caring, but the overall system has been consistently unreliable and unnecessarily difficult for a patient to navigate. After TWO last-minute cancellations following MONTHS of waiting, along with the repeated errors and lack of accountability I have experienced, I cannot consider this acceptable patient care.
