Specialties
Advanced Lactation Care specializes in virtual lactation and breastfeeding medicine consultations for families seeking evidence-based support for complex feeding challenges.
Areas of focus include evaluation and education for low milk supply, pumping and milk expression concerns, latch and milk transfer issues, and breastfeeding challenges associated with medical or hormonal factors. Consultations may also address medication considerations during lactation, feeding plans for medically complex infants, and coordination with a patient’s existing healthcare providers when appropriate.
All services are delivered via secure telehealth—there are no in-person visits or public office locations. Care is provided only in states where the provider is licensed, including Florida, Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Carolina and Texas.
Advanced Lactation Care does not provide emergency care and does not sell supplements or products. Services are educational, individualized, and grounded in current clinical guidelines and medical literature.
History
Established in 2022.
Advanced Lactation Care was founded to improve access to evidence-based lactation and breastfeeding medicine support for families who may not have timely specialty care locally.
The practice was intentionally built as a virtual-only model, providing secure telehealth consultations in states where the provider is licensed. This approach reduces geographic barriers while supporting continuity of care.
Advanced Lactation Care is led by Jennifer Gerard, APRN, FNP, IBCLC, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with experience in breastfeeding medicine and complex feeding concerns. Care focuses on individualized education, evidence-informed guidance, and collaboration with other healthcare providers when appropriate.
