The options were sign a new contract (5yr locked in @$25 a month w/ 100% fee for exiting + cost of unit) or install my own. I called around and the price from Five Star was THE best. They were very good about getting here ASAP w/ no added premium. They offered removal of the old unit, which others refused to do (heavy stone unit 300lbs). Five star removed the old unit, installed, re-plumbed and added a new ball shut off valve in 1.5 hrs...That's faster than it took one of the other companies to return an over the phone estimate! Very pleased. Here's hoping the Water Heater is of as good a quality as the service i received.

We have used Lubera most recently to install a humidifier and a new gas furnace among other minor…read moreservices over a number of years. When the humidifier was installed, he quoted us in the $300.00 range. It ended up over $700.00. We paid and bit our lips. In May 2021 the furnace was installed and paid for. In November 2021 we had a problem with a computer board and blower motor after a power outage. According to the manufacturer the parts were covered by warranty. It took our intervention to get the parts needed. We were without heat for a solid month. Finally, on January 26-2022 Lubera came to our home with the part needed to restore our heat. Lubera insisted on being paid for the board. He subsequently got paid over 800.00 for labor and parts. we asked him to go to the manufacturer to be reimbursed for the part and give us credit for what we paid. His answer was "you are lucky they covered the motor". We have crossed this plumber off our list. We will never use him again. He did nothing that is demonstrable to get the parts needed. I had to call the manufacturer and do a conference call with Lubera's wife to get the part shipped. Lubera did not honor his commitment to us.

On this day later on she contacted her Realtor and he arranged for a Plumbing company, for as it turned out it was a simple trap blockage in her basement. Ive done this several times in my home and it takes about 15 minutes. Both the Realtor and the 90 year old woman wanted me there for the obvious reasons. They charged her $640?, (Woonsocket Average is $250 to $400 with all fees and Labor. and it would be over $900+ (not typical) if they had to snake to the street?. The blockage was just in the house. Earlier I was showing her what to do if her main Hot water tank drain value blew out (like mine did) and water spouted out. Shut off the water supply, open the pressure relief valve which would stop the flow. After slightly pulling on the value it developed some water drops, perhaps temporary?. The plumber said since you (I) messed with it you should pay to have it replaced? I'm sure its only a $20 item, they quoted me $450 to replace it? (that's hysterical and BS! )? I believe he was scamming me...II said no I will replace it myself. I said you should help the 90 year old lady! and he said he would not charge her (I hope he didn't?), I will check. I noticed, my wife as well that the water heater appeared to still be under warranty and the plumber seemed annoyed when she said this! After doing some research it was leaking because of particles and minerals on the seal. There is a method to flush and clear the minerals. So they did not have to replace this pressure valve. So much for the so called Master Plumber in the room! they were simply trying to pad their bill, no question about this! He needs a Plumbing refresher. In any event the unit is still under warranty and they should have just flushed the valve. . When I stopped back in 5 minutes (after emptying the full shop Vac for the plumber, a supporting gesture) there was someone else there that claimed to be the owner and he seems ready to get violent with me ( I am 74 years old). I guess the cry baby plumber needed help. I was there in her best interest protecting her as she has very little money. The owner kept threatening me telling me to get out, that I don't anything about running a business..how comical!....but I had all my tools there. Eventually I left. I wouldn't hire this Plumbing company if they were the only ones in town. My son in law is a certified Master Plumber that does all advanced work for his company, which they mocked? Complete as- ho_es. These companies act like a casino charging as much as they can. Their website shows that do very basic work, nothing advanced? I can understand why they don't like oversight. I have a plumber I use from time to time...a real class Act, reconnecting and adjusting my Gas fittings after I installed a new water heater with a larger footprint. New pressure relief valve. FYI Brass valves simply do not fail for a slight pull on it, it was 4 years old I believe, perhaps a cheap one?? Mike and Nick took a look around our home when we reported an issue with flickering lights.
