It was sent to COLLECTION dated 04/07/26. The charges were for some remote monitoring of CPAP which was never done before and I was not aware was being done. It's a bogus money grab. My insurance paid some portion but balance was my responsibility. read more

I was never happy with AHS, but my doctor at Northwestern referred me in 2013. Sleep study was extremely uncomfortable in a terrible bed that could barely support any weight. The machine they set me up with needed to be replaced four times. Specialist turnover was through the roof -- I never saw the same person twice because they kept leaving the practice. The billing was explained very poorly. I eventually got fed up and complained to my doctor, who referred me to a specialist at Northwestern's sleep department - the reason she referred me to AHS was that back then, Northwestern's sleep department was small and couldn't handle more patients, but now they're much bigger. Great! Except that I still have to use AHS to order supplies. I'm in need of new supplies, and suddenly my online account is "on hold." It gave me a number to call. The number gave me two options: billing department, or reorder supplies. If I choose the reorder supplies option, I'm told to visit the web site to order through there. Nice. I can also call a 24-hour ordering number, which I did -- and the automation told me I'm not eligible "at this time" to reorder supplies. Are you freaking serious? By the way, those of you saying "I wish I could give zero stars" or "I wish I could give negative stars" -- you realize how ignorant you are? Giving just one star here IS THE EQUIVALENT. You're still giving THE LOWEST POSSIBLE RATING. read more

This is not a scam, it is just total incompetence. The robocalls for supplies works OK, but you better not have a problem. You call, and the message is the office is closed, no matter what day or time it is. Press 1 for the Billing Dept. and that mailbox is not accepting messages. I have tried through the Sleep Center, and that Tech has been great, but her messages to AHS also are ignored. Now, they have turned me over to a collection agency for amounts I have never seen before. There is no itemization on the "past due" invoices. I have been trying to reach them for MONTHS with out response and now a collector is on it. By the way, look them up on the Better Business Bureau website. They can't find them either. I went there for a sleep study because I stop breathing when I sleep (per my husband). He was right. The rooms smelled so clean and the techs made it so comfortable. I met the doctor and the physician assistant and they explained everything thoroughly. Front desk was great and after talking to shipping (they walked me through online portal to order my supplies) I am smooth sailing from now on! So glad I was recommended this place!! read more

Spare yourself. Stay away. Totally mismanaged operation. It is flagrant how this outfit treats its patients/customers. They have Zero customer service. If you have any questions, issues, or concerns about your health or supplies, forget about it. They are unreachable. After six years of this nonsense I reached my limit a couple weeks ago when I got a new Cpap machine (through them) and had some questions and concerns when it arrived. I was told I need to schedule an appointment in order to ask my questions. That is nuts! When I needed to order supplies, I was informed I had to do it online. Their website has a portal for ordering supplies. I could not get in because it d ne I needed a code. I had to call a phone number to get the code but no one answers that phone number (I tried it at least a dozen times on different days). I wont bore you. The fiasco goes on and on and on. It's more than a month later and no one has responded to my calls or emails. They have my insurance information and all records of what equipment I use as well as parts when I need to reorder. They are affiliated in some way with the Center for Sleep Medicine, where it is not much better. read more

The woman who was the manager in the scheduling department that I had spoken to over the phone to go over my information was very rude and arrogant, to begin with. I'm still waiting for an order place in July, 2022. I'm told there was an issue with Medicare so order would be filled by a different supplier. Obviously that hasn't happened. Issue has since been corrected so I place an order in December. One item is current out of stock but will be sent when back in stock. I'm still waiting for that item! read more

Terrible, absolutely horrible experience trying to get a hold of anyone. They also want me to pay for my machine and bill my insurance for it. If my Insurance tells me that I am covered at 100% then how am I being made to pay a "rental" fee when my insurance is paying the clinic in full for my machine at 100%. If I could give a negative star, I would. Since Covid 19, it is impossible to reach an actual person to discuss any account difficulties. Each month, I get an automated call to reorder supplies. The automated message says it will take you through a two minute process. After answering all the questions, I am then told they cannot process my order at this time and someone will contact me in a few days. Of course, no one ever does. When I try to order online, it takes me through all the steps and then doesn't complete the order. After all this, you have to email the company and hope someone responds to place an order. Long story short, I switched jobs (and insurance), and BCBS sent me notification that my yearly telehealth visit and supplies would not be covered because the proper documentation had not been supplied with the billing from AHS. I went online to get their office number and came across the horrible reviews and went into WTF mode expecting the worse. To my pleasant surprise, however, I called, talked to a live individual that was helpful and courteous, and was told that they, too, received correspondence from BCBS and were already taking care of the situation. A week and a half later, I received confirmation that my visit and supplies were covered. Problem solved. I would give them 5 stars, but they did screw up a little, and honestly, their automated call/supply reminder system seems to stalk you - they need to back down on the automated calls a bit. read more

I am trying very hard to get used to my cpap machine. I have not found the right mask yet. It has been IMPOSSIBLE to talk to anyone about the sore my current mask is producing in my nose. I have sent 5 emails, left 6 voice mails, left messages with the appointment department, and complained to the physician assistant and to the sleep psychologist in their "sister company", The Center For Sleep Medicine. This company is completely disfunctional. I'm so sorry I ever got started with them. I intend to inform Medicare and my physician who referred me to the center and I hope to switch to another supplier as soon as possible. The last six weeks have been hell. read more

I've been billed 4 separate invoices despite not requesting any replacement supplies. Not only have they automatically billed me, they haven't sent the supplies that they are charging me for. While they haven't taken the money out of my account, they have just sent me a letter stating that if I don't contact them within 10 days, they will forward to collections. This is, again, for supplies I have not ordered, and supplies I have not received. I was told by the person at the clinic that it would be entirely up to me as far as what supplies I would like to purchase, as we are tight on money at this time, so to get sent what is essentially a collections letter for things I neither asked for, or received, is beyond ridiculous. I will be contacting them tomorrow for clarification, but this is still a terrible way to do business. If they had told me that the process of ordering supplies would be automated and that I would be expected to pay monthly for them, I would be far more understanding, but that isn't the case. While this isn't a scam, they need to not charge for non-ordered supplies, and then not send it to collections when the person who they are charging isn't paying since they haven't received any supplies and wouldn't be blindsided by a pre-collections notice for services they haven't asked for, or received. This is impossibly stupid, and I'm so frustrated with this company. Edit: Apparently these charges are due to rental fees that lead to the purchase of the unit. While I was told that I was informed of this, neither my wife or I recall hearing anything about these charges during any of the appointments. I understand that the doctors office is separate from the supplies company, but it would have been nice to have this pointed out in plain text and not have to find this out after being months late on payments I didn't realize I needed to make and having my credit score subsequently affected. If I can find another way to get CPAP supplies aside from this provider, I will. read more

When they were in Des Plaines, they were wonderful. Went to new office in Glenview and they were nice. Received Resmed machine in February 2020 and could not use because machine was defective. Way, way too loud. Made NUMEROUS attempts for assistance via phone call & received no call backs. In the meantime, I was getting monthly bills for usage of machine that was NOT working right. Finally reached Olivia on 7/7 and she said "review team" had determined that I was not to get a break on billing. Why didn't this "review team" or anyone for that matter ever reach out to me? I was angry to say the least saying why should I pay for a service when that service was ineffective & just plain did NOT work. She said "have a nice day". So condescending. I agree with the previous reviewer. I was shocked when I received the bill for my cpap supplies. I had not yet completed the out of pocket expense (which is Huge with my insurance company!) So the insurance covered NOTHING. Everything comes in the mail really quick which is great, but no one explains or considers the exorbitant cost . Really??? $144 for a flimsy face mask?? Health Care providers need to discuss costs before just ordering supplies. When i tried to return items that were unopened and unused I was told they had a 30 day return policy. Well I didn't even get the bill for almost 6 months so how was I supposed to know I couldn't afford it? When I called they were very unsympathetic and curt in their response. Horrible service - though delivery is quick, they can't/won't tell you what they charge for an item (insurance doesn't always pay); they don't send packing slips with their deliveries; items are non-returnable; invoices are generated weeks to months (shipping says they have 90 days to generate an invoice) after shipment; when they submitted the invoices to the wrong insurance company (multiple times) and didn't get paid they sent our account to collections, etc. Insane prices - when the invoices do finally come, be prepared for a heart attack. They are three to four times as expensive as Amazon for no faster or better service and (for us, at least) submitting the Amazon bill to insurance ourselves was quick and easy and has resulted in a significantly lower out of pocket expense than buying directly from AHS. A couple of the pieces are prescription and can't be bought through Amazon, but the insurance company was happy to help us find another vendor for those items. I though this company was captive to the Center for Sleep Medicine doctors, but it appears to be the other way around - I think the doctors work for them. That's not a scam but it means when things go south you can't count on the docs being on your side to help straighten them out. We've given them a couple of tries and never again. Ever. read more

This place is ridiculously disorganized. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing! They gave me a loaner CPAP machine in October 2014 because mine was stolen while traveling. I have been trying for almost a year now to get a new one through my insurance and every time I talk to a different person over there who tells me they're going to work on it. But every time they also remind me HOW MUCH I NEED TO GIVE THEIR LOANER BACK!! I'm not giving their loaner back until they get me a new machine of my own - duh!! They used to at least send me new masks etc when it was time - they've been telling me they were sending those out "right away" for about a month now! Advance Health Services in Orland Park IL is a total scam. I was sent here by my cpap doctor as it's directly connected to the doctors office. (Same building) I explained the problem with my existing cpap device not working correctly and could it be repaired. The technician at Advance Health Services said that she would submit a authorization request for new cpap machine through my insurance carrier and advise once approved or denied. After waiting several days they called me back stating the new machine was approved my my insurance carrier and to come back into there Office to pick it up. After a few months Advance Health Services called me to tell me I owed them almost $1,200.00 for the cpap machine as the insurance did not pay for or approve it. I have to agree this feels like a scam. They have set up an environment that inherently has ethical conflicts. You are tested diagnosed and recommended for treatment that they will supply at inflated prices. And the insurance company not only goes right along with it but forces you to use them as a supplier for when you can get cpap equipment and parts and supplies at HALF the cost. The problem is to go elsewhere you have to pay out of pocket and not use insurance. I do this for my mask and supplies. It is the insurance industry that sets up this environment. This company provides my CPAP machine and it's supplies. It's a scam. Bait and switch actually. When I picked up my machine I was told: "For three months you must be compliant at then the machine is yours". Nothing about a rental fee. I understood that I needed to purchase supplies but that's it. I called about my bill and said that I will be making monthly payments. I was charged a $15 late fee, and when I called about that I was told: "The company that handles the billing charges a one time $15 fee which you will get back once the bill is paid in full." Uh, who does that?!?! That does NOT make any sense! I told the person that the company was a scam and she got really offended and pissed off at me. I was just telling the truth. I've used them for c-pap supplies for probably 10 years now and am very satisfied. They have an automated reorder phone number where I can reorder any time. And you can talk to a real person during business hours if you need to. I find supplies are shipped promptly and I receive them in a few days. They take care of calling my doctor's office for renewal of prescriptions for the c-pap supplies and file with my insurance. I don't know what other places charge so cannot compare price, but I fnd prices after insurance to be reasonable. read more

They provided my CPAP machine. I have good insurance but watch out: they are very careful not to explain the payment terms ahead of time (same went for my dr. office, Center for Sleep Medicine). You find out AFTER you are signed up that you are on a year long payment plan, this is very underhanded. Their explanation is that they don't need to explain anything, they are following insurance rules and you should think to ask if you will be signed up on a year long plan by surprise! Between you and your insurance company it ends up costing many thousands for a glorified aquarium pump. read more

I'm being generous by even giving them 1 star. Actually they aren't worth any. Every time I order supplies it takes 2-3 phone calls for me to even get my order. If I don't call I will never receive my order. When I question things all I get told is they are short staffed. Been told that since last November and getting really ridiculous. Would definitely not use them again as there are better places out there. Oh and if you leave a message for a return phone call you can forget it because that'll never happen.
