They assured me my care was covered by my insurance, all I had to pay for was the copay. I was really happy, it only costed around $80 for the biopsy and the doctor checking my skin. A month or two later I get billed an additional $274. I called their office to see if they'd made a mistake and they assured me the bill must be paid. I don't understand how they could do this. In what world does a medical company get to charge three and a half times the amount they promised me. I wouldn't recommend these liars. read more

I was referred to this dermatologist by my general practice doctor, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. Scheduling and check-in through their web portal was extremely easy. When I arrived, I noticed how nice and well-kept the building and office were. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by two receptionists who were warm, kind, and welcoming. I was taken back almost exactly at my appointment time--no waiting at any point during the visit. After a second check-in upstairs, which was just as pleasant, I met with the nurse's assistant, who carefully noted all of my concerns before handing things over to Shylie Falahati, the PA. I've been going to Dr. Moinfar for years and now that we're in San Diego, I'm still coming up to see her for all my dermatology needs. Why? Dr Moinfar is the best; caring, professional, knowledgeable and very gentle. I know I'm in the best hands with Dr Moinfar. Customer service is not very good. I waited on the phone for 15 minutes. Then I called back and the woman sounded so frazzled that I didn't want to wait again. The third time I called I was able to talk to someone who told me I could get an appt in three weeks. It was with a PA. I asked for a doctor and she told me they were booked through February. She was pretty rude, also. I told her I needed an earlier appointment with a place that had better customer service. read more

Over the last 15 years, I have been to 4-5 different dermatologists (including one Harvard Derm) that could not determine the source of my skin issue or any potential remedies. THE MOST UNCARING AND RUDE STAFF EVER!!! When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, I was told that my doctor was not coming in that day and they did not know when, or if she would return. They would not disclose the reason. When i asked why they did not notify me of my in advance appointment cancellation, they responded that they "tried" to send a text message. I rescheduled for the following morning with an unnamed PA. at 9:30 and arrived on time. While I sat waiting for over 30 minutes, 3 other patients arrived at various times and were seen imediately. I asked the receptionist why I sat waiting while these people who arrived after me were all seen while I just sat waiting, her response was that I do not know, I am just the messenger. When I asked her to find out why I was not being seen, she had no answer and refused to find out the reason. The uncaring indifference was unbelievable! It was the same with the staff at the downstairs front desk. It was the most insulting, uncaring, experience that I have ever received on a medical office. I will never go back. read more

Be careful before you get work done here. A lot of hidden fees. I went to get 4 things burned off of me. They gave me one price then they said it's an extra $200 per to send to the lab. Before I know it I'm in for $1500 and they all came back. This place is a rip off. read more

Had an awful experience here last year which began in May. Had Dr. Aguirre, who was awesome, and professional - yet, on two separate occasions at the last minute, couldn't make the appointment. Had Dr. Moinfar step in once for Dr. Aguirre. She asked me to show her my "draining cyst" (must have mixed up my chart with someone else's because I didn't have one!) didn't really address my questions or my concerns about the faulty treatment they had me on. She then curtly ended the consult when I inquired about laser treatments to help with my skin. Rude and unprofessional. I felt like she couldn't have cared less. By now it's October, i've been on an antibiotic that's done nothing to help my skin over the course of the past several months. My next appointment was again, with Dr. Aguirre, who again, cancelled at the last minute. At this point, I was completely flabbergasted by how poorly I was being treated. Months later, after feeling totally defeated after the experience at A.D, I went to my primary care doctor with the same skin issues - she not only prescribed me a decent / powerful antibiotic gel that cleared up my skin within days, she was also able to point out the Biotin I was taking was the major culprit in causing the breakouts. Months at Advanced Dermatology vs. a ten minute consult with a D.O at an Urgent Care and my skin problems are gone. read more

Very happy with the office, cleanliness and personnel. Sadly, they will no longer be contracting with UnitedHealthcare which is highly problematic. I blame the insurance industry that is making it impossible for medical professionals to make a decent profit. The insurance company wants us to use the lowest bidder. More interested in prescribing medicines from a specialty pharmacy than actual treatment. They will refuse to send the RX to any pharmacy but their own. After a 3 minute consult we were prescribed a very expensive and lengthy topical treatment with no other options. Went to another dermatologist and was given 3 options. Procedure done in office, no additional cost and symptoms were relieved immediately. Oh, and I wasn't forced to sign an arbitration agreement prior to appointment. read more

This place is a rip off, I paid $2400 for what I was told is a package of 4 visits. Given that you need to do each section of your body 2-3 times I thought that was perfect, but when I called to schedule my second visit they told me I had use all four "applications" on one visit! Absolutely a racked, one session does nothing and I paid $2400 for zero results! Not to mention you have to speak to 10 different people ti even get a call back for an appt to start with because no one handles cool sculpting there apparently. read more

Very disappointed. I've been with the doctor about 6 months and she wasn't able to find out what was the spots growing on my face. She tried freezing it and did not work. I was charged for a freezing as a surgery plus a visit. I returned to a third appointment and she still wasn't sure of what was it. Dr. Mahsa Abdollahi, (Dr. A), is without a doubt the BEST Dermatologist in Southern California. She is very personable and makes me feel like I'm her most important patient. She is extremely knowledgeable in her profession. On a scale of 1 to 5, she's not a 5, she's actually a "10"! Seriously, if you're in need of a good Dermatologist you can count on, Dr. A is hands down your best choice.
