I definitely don't recommend this office. I had an appt with a dermatologist but when I got there, they said our dermatologist left and we are looking to replace them. So I saw Alisa the PA instead for a body checkup which literally took her under 10 seconds! not minutes. I couldn't believe how fast she went through. I asked her about my acne scar on my face and she hesitated to give me a prescription saying that I needed come back because that's a separate appointment. Really I didn't know that the head/face is not part of the body! They just wanted to collect another $70 co-pay! I did not have a good feeling from this office and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I went there because I had a little bump under my eyebrow. Sliced a said oh maybe precancerous we can freeze it off. She did and left me with a 1/8 inch scar! I will never go back to that place and never use a PA for freezing things off especially on the face! She was haughty and in a hurry. Absolutely horrible practice! I came in for a derm check and everything was ok, but I had a small sun spot below my eye. The PA said oh I'll just freeze that off for you right now, no biggie. I asked her if it would scar and she said "no!" Guess who has a noticeable scar below her eye? I'm half tempted to sue so I can get compensation for the plastic surgery I need to fix it! I wanted a cyst removed. They don't remove them at this office but they had no problem taking my appointment and wasting my time to show up and wait 30 min in lobby. They don't even have an MD on staff, it's all PA's and one who has only been there 1 year and has little experience with Botox. What a joke. The receptionist who is new knows nothing and the PA's know about the same because when I asked how much longer to the receptionist, her response is I don't handle that. When I told the PA that they booked me for a cyst removal, her response was "I don't handle that". Wow! Will never go back to this place. read more

I have been going to this location and had a relationship for about 12 years after they went corporate. There have been so many mis handles of billing information and amounts never knowing how much you really owe having to do all the work yourself and calling their lack of support corporate office to ensure you are paying what you need to pay in addition to paying every time in office. I would absolutely not recommend going. If you care to have transparency on what you're going to owe and have support from the office staff, which was never something that was provided. As much as I love working with PA Alisa, my biggest disappointment is their front desk team. Unorganized, unprofessional with the touch of teenager's attitude. I've been seeing Alisa for over 10 years but never I've been mistreated as of today. Made an appointment for my son over the phone over 3 weeks prior, spoke with a rep confirming my appointment. Came to the office just to be turned down with no effort of helping others than they can't accommodate us as they do not see our appointment. Between driving, rushing to make it and making time to be there just to be turn down, very frustrating. They can clearly see my frustration however instead of being empathetic, I received a cold shoulder with a high schoolers attitude and even asking what insurance, which makes me wonder why asking for insurance if they can't even accommodate us. I did not make an appointment for botox or a nose job, this visit is very important for my son's health. They are under West Dermatology with branches throughout OC. From this experience alone, I'm very hesitant to come back. I feel like they discriminate who they are seeing based on insurance or perhaps the type of procedure they can get money out of. read more

I was a patient of Dr Beverly for approximately five years. My gripe with him is how he performs the Mohs Surgery for a Basil Cell Carcinoma. I highly recommend that you look for a different dermatologist if you have a Basil Cell Carcinoma requiring the Mohs Surgery. I have been diagnosed with a Basil Cell Carcinoma twice in three years. The first time (2013) I had the Mohs Surgery with Dr Beverly. I thought his approach seemed a bit extensive but at the time I didn't know any better and had the procedure done. This process with Dr Beverly included: (1) blood work with my primary care physician, (2) pre-op appointment with Dr Beverly, (3) surgery done at an outpatient surgery center, (4) being put under anesthesia for the surgery, (5) assistance for Dr Beverly from Dr Robinson (Dr Robinson is a plastic surgeon that shares an office with Dr Beverly and doesn't appear to work with health insurance) and (6) post-op follow up appointment with Dr Beverly and Dr Robinson. I have a Health Savings Account and my insurance has a $6,000 deductible. The cost that I was responsible for in 2013 was over $4,000. I was diagnosed for the second time with a Basil Cell Carcinoma this year (2016). Before scheduling the procedure, I started looking into the cost that I was going to be responsible for. Dr Robinson's office informed me that they would charge $2,000 and the surgery center quoted me $950. At this point I had heard enough. I didn't get quotes from Dr Beverly or the anesthesiologist. I think it is safe to say that once again I would be paying over $4,000 for this procedure. I had the procedure done two weeks ago with another dermatologist that a friend recommended. The procedure was done at the dermatologist's office (not an outpatient surgery center) without anesthesia and without the assistance of a plastic surgeon. My procedure took about an hour from start to finish. Thirty minutes of this time was spent waiting for the results from the tissue sample and another fifteen minutes was spent waiting for the numbing agent to take effect. About ten minutes was spent cutting out the tissue and stitching me up. I am very disappointed and frustrated to think about how expensive and inconvenient this procedure could have been if I did this surgery with Dr Beverly. I was also very disappointed to realize that I would have been put under anesthesia for a simple procedure like this. On rare occasions, people do die from complications with anesthesia. It is also very annoying that I would have been paying $2,000 for Dr Robinson's assistance which was absolutely not needed. I haven't received my final bill yet but it's safe to say that it will be under $1,000. As a result of my experience, my family has switched to a new dermatologist and I have written my first Yelp review! read more

LAZY NURSES & SHADY PRACTICE!! This place is a scam. They ask you who you're preferred pharmacy then send your prescriptions to a compounding pharmacy hours away that mails it to you. I told Alissa Wang that i DO NOT want to use that pharmacy but went and did it anyway. This doctor office is an honest joke. Full of incompetent dumb catty women. The receptionist is a freaking C U NEXT TUESDAY, her name is like Jackie or something. Constantly interrupting on the phone and keeps cutting you off when you speak. She refuses to let you talk and is condescending brat. I have never been treated so badly and given such a run around to get a REFILL!! They have no consideration for their patients, they do not care at all about their patients. They went behind my back and changed my patient forms and everything. Awesome! Went 30 mins early to ensure i was seen at the time of my appt. Dr Wang saw me right on time, i didn't have to wait hours for her like at another dermatologist i went to before. She diagnosed me, prescribed my meds and answered all my questions. Quick, easy and straight forward. Will definitely be back and refer my family. Just disappointed! We had an appointment with Dr. Romero on October 3rd and have been waiting for our prescriptions to be filled, and went back to Ralphs to pick up, but, they told me I need to contact Beverly Dermatology, the pharmacy was not authorized to issue/fill. When I called in, I was told I had to go back to the pharmacy. When I said they could not help me, I was disappointed to find out that any prescriptions issued by Dr. Romero could not be filled since October 3rd was her last day with Beverly Dermatology. Not only did they let us come in on her last day, but, my son has a full 12 hour day at school and missed his first 3 classed to get this appointment. Now we can't even get the prescriptions without going in for the same appointment with another doctor? Why didn't someone reschedule us with a doctor that could issue prescriptions that could be filled. I am just so disappointed with the lack of consideration with both Beverly Dermatology and Dr. Romero, UNPROFESSIONAL. So, now we will find a new dermatologist that will communicate with their patient and start all over. read more

I walked out of my second appointment with Dr. Beverly. My appointment was at 3:30. I left the waiting room at 4:15. The first time I saw him, I was waiting for over 90 minutes. Would not recommend because of it. In all fairness, he was likable when I did have the patience to waste my time for a routine skin exam. I'm sure there's other Derms in the area who would be more appreciative that a waiting room is a necessary evil and not a place people want to hang out. read more

Dr. Beverly removed a plantar wart from the sole of my foot. I had this procedure done before without any complications. Not this time. Even though I am not a diabetic and don't have a weak immune system, the wound hasn't closed after almost 6 weeks. He referred me to a wound specialist (quote: "Case like these I send to a wound specialist". So this seems to happen on a regular basis.) Now I will have to wear a cast and be immobilized for an unknown period of time. As mentioned before, this is a simple procedure which, done the right way, should not result in any complications. While Dr. Beverly has pleasant manners, I have completely lost trust in his skills as a physician. Perhaps he should dedicate the rest of his life to jazz music only instead of harming patients. read more

Horrible practice management. Having seen Beverly's practice for 4 years, I made an appointment for my annual check up and to explore cosmetic procedure four weeks in advance. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time and was greeted by the staff. I took a seat in the lobby and sat, for 45 minutes, watching patient after patient being escorted back. One had an appointment 30 minutes after mine and was escorted back within 10 minutes. Not sure how important your time is, but mine is too important to waste on this practice. Seek treatment elsewhere. read more

I met Doctor Beverly through a friend who raved about him, went in for an annual skin cancer check and had some questions about the affects of pregnancy on my skin. He was awesome, the first Doctor who did not lecture me on how much time I spent in the sun, he gently gave me some reminders :) loved him, and have recommended him to a few friends. Now, his aesthetician Mary Ann is by far the best I have worked with in 15 years of skin care, I took Dr Beverly's advice and explored a medium grade chemical peel to lighten the hyper-pigmentation I experienced while pregnant. I had the Perfect Derma Peel, the downtime is minimal, two heavy days of peeling, and a couple more days of peeling which is barely noticeable, no pain and my skin started to look like it did pre-pregnancy, clear and bright. I've gone back for a couple more and waiting to see the results. Aside from the fabulous results (thus far) with the peels, I have to say, Mary Ann has amazing bedside manner, she really knows her stuff and takes her time explaining everything and making her clients feel comfortable with the services and products, she listens to your skincare goals and more importantly, it's evident she really cares about the results. I would highly recommend Mary Ann to anyone seeking to improve their skin or looking for a boost to their current regiment. The entire office staff at Beverly Dermatology is wonderful. This was such a great find! UPDATE 12.28.16 - No longer a patient and no longer recommending this office. As it turns out I still had several hundred dollars to use in my Health Flex account (pre-tax contribution from my income to be spent for health related purposes). Cosmetic procedures are not approved without a Doctor's note. If you read my first post it was regarding chemical peels I had received at this office to lighten pregnancy related hyper-pigmentation. I called Dr Beverly's office and spoke to a receptionist, explaining I would like to use the remainder of my Flex dollars in chemical peels and needed a letter from Dr Beverly for the approval, mind you two peels would cost me $500.00 at this office (not including tip), and I do in fact still have hyper-pigmentation from pregnancy, so I wasn't asking Dr Beverly to lie, was simply asking for a letter (paragraph) providing a recommendation for the peels to further lighten my skin discoloration (same recommendation he had given me verbally in 2015 which I followed). This would've resulted in a win / win for both, I would get to use my "own money" that I put into my flex, help my skin along and Doctor Beverly's office would make $500.00 in two peels which take them approximately 15 minutes each. The receptionist called me a few days later stating Doctor Beverly would write me a letter but would charge me $35.00 to do so. OK, so let me get this straight, he wants to charge me $35.00 to type a short paragraph, so that I can turn around and spend $500.00 in his office? Ridiculous, and such a poor way to run a business. Called my old dermatologist who gladly wrote the letter free of charge (it literally consisted of 3 sentences) and who will reap the benefits from me getting the peels at his office now and in the future (non-flex), as well as reap the benefits of my purchase of their products (because overtime I visited Doctor Beverly I dropped money in products) much bigger profit than a couple bucks for a short paragraph. So not only will I never spend a dollar at Doctor Beverly's office again or return there (despite loving his staff and esthetician) but I have also unrecommended everyone I had been recommending to that office, and it doesn't take much, the minute I share the above there isn;t one person who is not turned off. This type of silly greed is how business lose good customers / patients, etc. it makes no sense. Good riddance. read more

I would not recommend this practice as it did not impress me as a first time patient. I came out from a consultation with DR. Beverly unclear and confused as he did not explain clearly the skin spots I was asking about. I paid a 164.00 for a ten minute visit, and then today they billed me another 41.00. When I called their billing department, about their mistake they gave me a fabricated reason for the charge. I will certainly not recommend their practice. read more

I saw Dr Beverly for the first time, for a very minor skin issue. I was about 30 minutes early to my appointment, simply in case I needed to do anything more before the appt. He saw me early, and I was in and out within 30 minutes. He also gave me a discount because I was paying cash. He is the best doctor I have seen in the Orange County area... no high prices or rude employees. He is so down to earth and personable. I really enjoyed meeting with him, despite the circumstances.
