There are a lot of poor reviews to this place, so I decided to make sure that this isn't the only impression left for this business. But it seems that most of the complaints are toward the owner, Diane, which I had minimal interaction with. That being said, i arrived at Advanced Dermacare yesterday afternoon to use my Living Social Deal for a Hydra Facial. I was checked in by Diane, who was very polite to me and let me know my technician was on break but she would be with me soon. This was fine since I was early and I wasn't in any hurry. Now this place is spa like, but really it feels like seeing a skin care specialist. My technician, Erin, was wonderful. She provided tons of info and advice to help me achieve the perfect skin I have always dreamed of. She performed the Hydrafacial, which consisted of putting several types of serums on face, customized for my needs, and using a hydra dermabrasion tool to give me a new bright and shiny face and rid it of all the crazy impurities many of us in Tucson deal with. I had a really great experience. Most of the prices make it so I cannot frequent this establishment, but they have pretty good deals from time to time. The other technicians are contracted to work here, and I really enjoyed the service I received from Erin. So I wouldn't let these other reviews deter you from booking an appt. But I would definitely say book with Erin. She was awesome. read more

I've been going to Advanced Dermacare for a little over five years now. My experiences there have always been positive and I have always been treated with kindness and respect. I started going because I have rosacea and other skin issues that need to be treated. Diane is very professional and has extensive experience. I don't understand any poor reviews or any negativity directed at her. She does a great job on my skin! She offers a great value for customers. The monthly specials available are amazing! I can't comment on the other ladies working there because Diane is my face lady and she is the only one allowed to touch my skin. :) My face always looks great when I leave, I go once each and every month to have my skin evaluated and worked on my Diane. She knows exactly what needs to be done to keep my face looking its best, and she has made it possible for me to not look like I have aged in years. (Because of Diane people don't believe me when I give them my real age....) Again, I don't understand the negative reviews. That makes no sense to me at all. If I am ever not fully satisfied, it has been my experience that the people at Advanced Dermacare will bend over backwards to make up for it and make me happy. I had someone tell me not too long ago that I was a walking advertisement for Advanced Dermacare because my skin looks great! I always look forward to going in for my appointments and my rosacea has been under control for years. read more

I started going to Advanced Dermacare a few years ago. This is a place to go when you you want to see dramatic changes in your face and reverse the signs of aging. This is not a typical spa - this is Advanced skin care - so basically it is more like seeing a doctor then going to a salon / spa. Keep in mind - Diane and her staff offer procedures that are not available at your regular salon / spa and one of my favorite procedures is the Nanotechnology Facial Rejuvenation. This procedure uses an electrical type current to tone you face. I was so happy with the results - my saggy chin / neck was finally tighter and my face looked much more toned. I urge people to ignore the negative reviews and give it a try. However - do not approach it as a fluffy feel good spa - think of it as a medical treatment facility that will make you look years younger - after all isn't that what we all really want?? read more

Really terrible service. The owner is a very conceited, rude, and belittling person. I have never been treated so poorly by a business in all my life. I got a good, not great facial, and would have left had I not already prepaid for the service. I cannot stress how unpleasant this woman is. If you have facials to relax and pamper yourself, then skip this place. Interestingly, I can find no other reviews on this business, although I wrote one immediately upon leaving advanced dermacare. I suspect she combs through reviews and flags them. She would have to, if she wanted to stay in business. Oh, and after my appointment she sent me a vague "apology form letter", which was really more of a letter stating how wonderful she is. Very strange. read more

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Diane and Annette at Advanced Dermacare are! They have helped my skin immensely over the years! Diane has been very careful to be aware of some medical problems I have and adjust procedures as needed. They have helped my skin bounce back after waaaay too much sun over the years, and taken years off my face! I live in New York and so am only here in the winter, but I really wish they had a satellite office on the east coast so my skin would look this good all year round! read more

I purchased a Hydra Facial thru Living Social for $60 -- the service was $200 full price. Wow I figured this would be something really special. Unfortunately not. I should have checked out the reviews before I bought. The services are stupidly expensive even at the Living Social rate. There is a posted framed twenty dollar bill in each treatment room telling you to tip on the full price of the service. I found this insulting and somewhat bullying. I gave her $10 and she did not even thank me. The Hydra Facial was definitely unforgettable. Erin used a little suction cup with water on your face. I have had that as part of facials in the past -- however not as the only technique in a facial. Do NOT waste your money on this one. read more

I bought a groupon for a diamond microdermabrasion facial and lumi facial. Let's just say it was not what I expected so I was really disappointed with the service. Erin was really sweet and the space is nice, however she pre-empted the service by letting me know that this was not your typical spa type facial. She also was playing 50's music, not very relaxing, and talked non-stop. So to the facial, she puts a light lotion on your face and drags the diamond wand accross your face twice, all of this in a brightly lit room. Then she leaves you under the luminescent light for 15 min. Comes back in the room sprays you with a mist, puts a bronzer on your face and that's it. If you are expecting a spa facial don't book here, it's not relaxing in any way shape or form. read more

The owner was extremely rude and had little knowledge of what she was talking about. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but this women was beyond pushy with hers. She was insulting, and the facial was not even that good. I have gotten facials from a variety of places, and usually they are pleasant and the staff is at the very least nice and polite. I got the hydrafacial here and was surprised by some extras that were offered. The owner did an assessment of sun damage and moisture content of my skin using a kind of hand held machine which is helpful to know so you can gauge progress or utility of your skin care routine. Since there was some time between guests after my facial, she added a bit of lumi facial and was sure not to send me out the door without sunscreen. While extras might not be offered at busy times, I thought that was pretty cool. I agree that the prices are high if you are booking without a coupon, but there are deals posted on their website and if you sign up for emails you get some smoking deals that make these treatments affordable. I wasn't expecting any kind of spa experience since some of these treatments are the same as offered by your dermatologist so that is the environment I had in mind. Also, since I had my treatment with the owner, she declined my tip (tipping is probably proper when booking with her assistants, tho) so that can make getting treatments here even more affordable. read more

I wish I had read the reviews prior to pruchasing or using this groupon. Interestingly enough, my experience echoed 2 of the 3 reviews thus far. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment time as directed to fill out paperwork. The doors were locked and I waited 5 minutes before an elderly woman walked up and unlocked the doors. I assumed she was a receptionist by the way she treated me and it was only later that I learned she was the owner. Without out going into all of the details, suffice it to say that this woman is the most unprofessional and rude business owner I have every had the displeasure of meeting. She is incredibly condescending in her tone, words, and behavior. I was so upset by her treatment of me that I walked out of the business without having my service. I then realized that she still had all of the paperwork I filled out with my personal information on it. I came back in and requested her business card and she refused to give it to me. I then requested my personal information back and she held it up and said "this is now property of Advanced Dermacare." She then tore it in half and threw it in the trash. I explained to her that it was not destroyed and she proceeded to rip each piece of paper in tiny little pieces in a very dramatic manner all the while saying "is this good enough for you?" I was so dumbfounded that the owner of a business would behave that way. I called groupon and made a complaint and am receiving a refund. My advice to anyone who has had the misfortune of having to deal with this woman is that you request a refund through groupon. Mine isn't the first complaint they had and I'm sure they will no longer be allowing her to participate in groupon. As I told her, with the way she treats her customers, it's no wonder she has to go through groupon to get business. I feel very sorry for Erin who appears to be her only employee. She seemed like a very nice young lady. I left the business that day wondering if I had done something to her to be treated that way. It was comforting to read these reviews and know that I'm not alone in the way I was treated. I usually take reviews with a grain of salt but with 3 out of 4 reviews virtually saying the same thing, the customers are clearly not the ones with the problem. read more

I had been neglecting my skin somewhat for the past few years and it was starting to show with dryness and deepening creases in my naso-labial folds. A dear friend had recommended Diane to me a number of years ago and I now was ready to get serious about my late 50 year old skin. Yes, if you want someone to just rub some masks into your skin and rely on "old technology" then by all means, go somewhere else. But, if you want cutting edge techniques and equipment and products that really do work,then I would recommend Advanced Dermcare to you. Genetics was good to me and I always had good skin and was complemented on it, but that had stopped until I started with Diane. Now, once again, people have a bit more trouble guessing my age and I can go makeup-less if I want to which was not the case just a few months ago. So, if you want to have a true skin care professional with knowledge grounded in science who takes what she does very seriously and pampers her clients with whatever they need to be peaceful and at ease while she works her magic...Advanced Dermcare is for you.
