My first appointment at West Coast Dental was in early January. I was able to get a same day…read moreappointment, which I appreciated, although the office was very busy and I wasn't able to receive treatment that same day. I'll admit that I was initially a little disappointed, as I had hoped to complete everything in one visit. I later scheduled an 8:00 a.m. appointment for January 31st and was told I would be seen and treated that day. When I returned on the 31st, I was treated by Dr. Pham, and Esmeralda assisted me with billing and benefits explanations. This is where my perspective completely changed. It quickly became clear why the office is so busy. Dr. Pham did an outstanding job, he was empathetic, kind, respectful, and took the time to thoroughly educate me about my treatment. Esmeralda was equally wonderful, clearly explaining what was covered by insurance, what was not, and reviewing my options without any pressure. Together, they made the experience genuinely positive. Fast forward to today, when I returned for my wisdom teeth extraction. Once again, Esmeralda was welcoming and helpful, and this time I was treated by Dr. Nguyen, the oral surgeon. She was incredibly efficient and skilled, the procedure was quick, smooth, and completely painless. I was honestly amazed at how comfortable the entire experience was. And so appreciative her and the dental assistant (whose name I forgot. Sorry) truly cared and eased my nerves. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the level of care, professionalism, and consideration shown to patients at West Coast Dental. Recently I had an urgent inquiry regarding my plaque build up and needed a second opinion from a…read moreprofessional dentist. Luckily my sister referred me to Dr. Philip. I am beyond grateful and appreciative of Dr. Philip's time and care for me even though I am not his patient. After seeing my dentist at a different office, I was informed that I needed deep cleaning ASAP. However I was not provided further information. This made me doubt whether my own dentist just wanted me to pay out of pocket for a service that was not necessarily urgent. I wasn't sure what to do and expressed my concerns to my family. My sister suggested that she can ask her friends that are in the dental field which led us to Dr. Philip. Dr. Philip immediately responded to my sister and later even personally called me. He was already home, yet still took time to answer my questions. He even offered me to come over to his clinic for him to give me a proper consultation that I did not receive in my own dental clinic. He provided patient education that I needed and even followed up with me days later to make sure I received my perio charting and provided his professional opinion to help me make my decision. Knowing that Dr. Philip did this for me even though I am not a patient of his, I can imagine the greater care his patients receive. He is a phenomenal example that I wish more dentists exemplified. At this point, the lack of any follow-through leaves me with the impression that the response was primarily for public-facing purposes rather than an indication that meaningful changes would actually be considered. I would have been happy to return had the process been reconsidered, and I remain disappointed that their public response appears to have ended with the response itself.
