He was extremely professional. This is a family business with Chris and his dad Joe. Joe has been working on hvac systems since the 70s so he knows his stuff I am a septic and don't trust most service companies. Not true for Hewes. They offered several options for repairing our old loud inefficient system and priced out a new one. Price was on par with other quotes I felt comfortable enough to pull the trigger with Hewes. They came out on a Friday and Installation was Monday Great work ethic and they cleaned up nicely. The new system is so much quieter (old system sounded like a loud motorcycle or airplane engine). I highly recommend supporting this local family owned and run business

We had used other AC companies in the past and found that the majority of the service associates were unfriendly and many of them didn't fully know what they were doing. We opted to try Hewes Heating & Air Conditioning as they were a little smaller company and 100% family owned and operated. Having spent several years in the hospitality industry, customer service is a must for me! I was so impressed with their hospitality, their friendliness and their overall service. Chris, their director of operations came out on a holiday weekend shortly after we had contacted them and did a temporary fix until they could get a full service/part for the unit during the week. When they returned later in the week, they not only checked everything within our unit and insured that our Freon was refilled and that everything was working, but they also gave us some tips and advice and even showed my husband how to help maintain the unit better than wealready were. They were so patient and walking him through all the steps they were doing! We've never had that type of service before! Overall, we had such an exceptional experience with them that we will definitely use them again! Would highly recommend them to anyone in the Central Florida area who was looking to move away from a commercialized air-conditioning service to more family, friendly owned, and operated business

So happy they are open during the quarantine/covid-19. They were able to come sooner than I could accommodate, so we agreed on Thursday. Two guys came out, one was training the other to be on his own soon. It was an all day affair. One of my units checked out fine. The other one had some issues so they had to drain the Freon and check it out. I asked if they wouldn't mind cleaning up the squirrel skeleton under the unit. The young guy straight up said no! The older guy chuckled, grabbed my trash bag and went up and cleared it all out. So thankful! They were very considerate of my carpet etc. Protec installed my hot water heater which is why I called them for my AC needs. I figure, if they can do plumbing and AC, they can figure out how to cool my garage. As it turned out, I needed a separate appointment for evaluation for the air conditioning install. They are not allowed to tee off my existing unit into the garage. It's illegal. So I called and they said they could send someone out on Monday. The guy came and we talked about the options. We agreed on a new install and he was able to schedule me that week, Thursday. The team of three guys, the one who grabbed the squirrel carcass, and two other men came on Thursday and installed the unit. They were here all day, but as promised, they did it in one day. They had some issues with the wrong piping and had to redo it. They also made a small hole in the garage wall for the drainage pipe that didn't work out, so they have to come back and plug the hole. They also need to come back and cover the pipes. They didn't have everything for this custom project. The idea for the garage to be cooled is to take the edge of in the summer when I work out, not to cool It all the time. It works amazing. It has a remote control. A thermostat install would be an extra charge, but you could get it WiFi compatible and control it from your phone. Protec has an optional membership which can be tailored to your needs and is priced out depending on what you want and how many units you have. I joined. It includes 15% off plumbing and AC repairs. Hope I don't need to use that benefit. They're really good about calling and emailing. They will communicate both ways or whatever you prefer. Very professional. I would recommend them. You might get a better price with someone else, but you won't get the same warranty and guarantee.
