I have been going to physical therapy on the Northside and am not happy with their services. First,…read morebecause this location does not have a lot of patients, they are constantly moving the staff around to other locations leaving this location with no consistency on who you will see or even who will check you in. You do not ever get the chance to get comfortable and build a sense of trust with the staff including the physical therapist. You have to constantly give them your medical history and explain why you are going to physical therapy and where you are in your treatments. Second, you may or may not work with an actual physical therapist. On two separate occasions I was seen by a CNA who just read off of a sheet on what she asked me to do. If I did see a physical therapist, he had other patients he was working with at the same time and I often had to wait between exercises before he could continue with me. Third, you do the same exercises over and over again. Once I was shown something, I did my exercises at home so going to an appointment where the do the same thing is a waste of my time. Fourth, I had an appt scheduled on Monday, but I got sick over the weekend and contacted my primary care physician and was able to get an appointment that was at the same time as my physical therapy appointment. I immediately called them as soon as they opened and they would not waive the cancellation fee of $50.00 regardless of the situation. I was advised that I should have called over the weekend and left a message to reschedule my appointment. Last, they are quick to charge me a late fee, but I had to wait to be called back at least 30 minutes for every appointment I went to. I would not recommend Coastal Physical Therapy on the Northside of Jacksonville, Florida (Dundas Dr).

I have some old sports injuries, that flare up from time to time, and lately I've not been able to get them under control. One of my therapist recommended Andrew and Take Control Physicsl Therapy, because one of her other patients had a very positive experience here. I trust her, and now I trust Andrew because he took the time to explain to me what needed to be done what movements I needed and how I could be injury free going forward. He focuses on the McKenzie method, although he has other modalities available to him and he is a BOARD-CERTIFIED PHYSICAL THERAPIST. That means that he passed the most rigorous test common is the master of his craft. The McKenzie method focuses on movements that help alleviate pain, and they do so with less appointments than you would have to go to a traditional physical therapy routine or you're one of three or one of four people that are getting addressed at one time. Andrew's method is 101 you have his full attention and he encourages you to keep in constant contact with him to let you know how you are doing. My experience with him was fantastic, and after five appointments, I was pain-free. Actually, I was pain-free after the third appointment, but I had some long drives and being cooped up in the car is not necessarily good for your back posture. He really believes in his methods come he really believes that you deserve to be pain-free and that's what he's dedicated therapy clinic.

I have purchased acupuncture and massage packages by the past, so I was astonished to see the cost of the different plans that were presented. I'll stop with the comments since the practice has generally good reviews and Julee has helped others. Obviously, your mileage may vary based upon your health issues, but I was utterly floored to get estimates for a platinum plan for over $5k, a gold plan for $2k and a silver plan for $1.8k based upon the suggested treatment plan. My biggest thanks goes to Robin for helping me with my milk production after the birth of my second child. I had low milk production in 1 breast and almost 0 production in the 2nd breast with my first child. I started to experience the same thing with my 2nd child and knew immediately to turn to Robin. Robin helped amp up my supply and greatly increase my production where I was able to solely breastfeed my 2nd child during the time I wanted to continue breastfeeding. Robin is really caring and really listens to what's going on with you! Before we even began the massage, he was taking a series of measurements and performing range of motion tests while asking me various questions about my habits and level of pain. He really takes the time to understand where your pain is coming from and knows how your body "should" work and how to get it there. It took awhile to relax and it can be a challenge to let go of your tight muscles, but the atmosphere is calming and I felt so relaxed and limber even after one session. It was as if I was finally able to stand up correctly after years of slouching and poor posture. I immediately scheduled additional sessions and I continued to improve my posture and my pain just melted away after a few weeks. If you struggle with any sort of chronic musculoskeletal pain I HIGHLY recommend getting a 2 hour session. You really won't regret it.
