Took my car twice because it was not fixed properly the first time, and after paying a literal arm and a leg for repairs that lasted one day, they would not only NOT give me a refund, but they said that it needed even more repairs. I went three times, and the first two went well. But the third time there was a woman who didn't know how to treat customers. She had bipolar disorder and, on top of that, she was extremely racist and didn't speak English. She made you feel like they were providing the service for free. I'll never go back. Quality and honesty of work by Rick is top notch. But the customer service by the office help is absolutely terrible. Took car in for an A/C diagnostic to see what was wrong. Was up front and told them I would take their diagnosis and make repairs myself. Verbally abused by the office and belittled (attemted to belittle anyway) and was told they couldn't run a business that way. Let me see. Diagnosis took 10 minutes, cost $40. That's $240/hour by my count. If they don't want to do a diagnosis, then don't advertise $39 for a diagnosis. But he really needs to find someone with more customer service skills. Next time I'll just add $30 of Freon and dye, and do it myself. read more

Yo I just called in to ask if they weld exhaust together and the lady on the phone sounds like she must hate her job or what not. Obviously doesn't care for the customers on the way she talked to me. So I went to a different auto shop before I came across This one to fix ignition coil issues. The other auto shop wanted to fix my car for $1000 I was like what ? Long story short I made some calls after the other guys game me that blow of $1000 quote and i came across Rick and in less than a day he had my suv running for a fraction of the other shops quote . I dropped my vehicle off here one morning after a breakdown. I had no idea what the issue was. Within about an hour I received a phone call to tell me what the problem was, a quote for the cost to fix it and an estimated time the car would be ready. We had our serpentine belt replaced, the car was ready sooner than expected and my invoice was even a bit less than the earlier quote on the phone. I was very pleased with the way this shop does business and they will be my first phone call with any future vehicle issues. They charged me over $550.00. My wife went to this company to get an estimate on repairing her AC. The quote was unusually high, but when I called back to get an explanation from them, I was told that I could not talk to the mechanic that gave my wife the quote and they charged a $39.00 fee for the diagnostic and for filling the system with Refrigerant. They quoted about $1100.00. I took it to another shop for a second opinion, they were very professional and showed me the problem and fixed it in one day total cost $210.00!! I went back to AAA to get an explaination, the woman at the front desk was rude and insisted that her husband never makes mistakes and refused to refund our $39.00. She screamed at me to leave her shop. Please save yourself the heartache and money, I have never been treated so rudely and unprofessionally. read more

My car had multiple warning lights come on and went into a mode that restricted the speed to less than 25mph. This only occurred when the a/c was on. I dropped the car off at Advanced Auto Air and told them the symptoms. Advanced called me back and said the compressor had a leak and it needed to be replaced. The cost was approximately $1000. I authorized the repair. The following day Advanced called and said the a/c was fixed but the alternator light was coming on and quoted me $500 to replace that. I did not authorize that repair and picked up the car after business hours. When I got in the car it had the exact symptoms I had dropped it off with. When I got home I researched the problem myself and found out it was the harmonic balancer. I called Advanced to discuss and see if we could come to a compromise to correct the primary problem. Advanced told me the a/c was fixed and that they never said that would fix what the car was brought in for. Replacing the balancer includes much of the same maintenance required to get to the a/c compressor and I felt that Advanced had been less than forthcoming regarding the diagnosis of the problem. Advanced did not wish to work anything out. Advanced told me I authorized the replacement of the a/c and that was done. They accepted no responsibility for not fixing what the car was brought in for. I would also add that on my invoice Advanced charged $800 for the parts that I could have bought at any parts store for about $450. Advanced reply was "my book allows me to charge you retail and that is what I charged you". I was more than willing to pay for the parts and some of the labor for the repair but felt that Advanced should have discounted me a portion of the bill for not fixing what the car was brought in for or at least offering to replace the balancer without charging for the repeat labor. They were absolutely unapologetic or interested in finding a reasonable outcome. As a result I am writing this review to help out future customers. I ended up having my car towed to European Autohaus in Tampa. They did a great job and were very helpful. They quoted the repair both with labor and parts or just labor if I wanted to bring in the balancer myself. The balancer fixed the problem and I am motoring again. read more

I took my car in because the ac wasn't cold and I was told by another mechanic I needed a new compressor. After looking it over Rick charged up the system and changed a belt and now it works great! 1 year and 5 days after Advanced Auto Air changed the evaporator and drier out in my car the evaporator went out again. I was told rules are rules and they would not repair the defective part without charging me for the parts and labor again. Their 12 month/12 thousand mile warranty is much more important to them than a repeat customer with repeat business. I recently had them change out the gas tank on another vehicle due to road damage. When my insurance company wouldn't fully cover the claim I spoke with them. I was told it was because Tammy had cursed at the adjuster and had been so hateful the adjuster refused to adjust the claim. They had everything she said on record. Avoid the headache and take your auto to a reputable business that knows how to conduct themselves in a professional manner and values repeat customers. read more

10 months ago they repaired the ac in my son's s10. it is still working, no problems. so when my daughters mazda 3 needed ac repair we took it to rick. quoted us a good price, had them make the repair. two weeks later the ac belt started to squeak. took it back in and was told that it would be another $150 to replace the belt. they did not replace the belt when they made the repair because it "looked ok"...Mazda does not recomend reusing the belt...but rick knows better than mazda...I would have paid for the part, but I thought that they should eat the labor...so they lost a customer that had just spent over $2000 with them for a $35 belt and 1/2 hour labor. great customer service...NOT!!!! read more
