With dozens to choose from, in the specific area we were looking at, definitely made this process even more difficult. Allegro Senior Living was highly recommended to us and when we visited the facility it certainly did not disappoint. We had the privilege of meeting Mary Adams at Allegro who spent a tremendous amount of time with us. We toured the facility, spoke to staff and shared our story. We asked dozens of questions and shared our concerns. Mary was warm, knowledgeable and so transparent about expectations for a loved ones transition to a senior living facility. After visiting many other communities and reviewing our choices, we immediately knew that Allegro Senior Living would be the perfect living arrangement for our mom. The facility is immaculate, nicely appointed, has lovely grounds, is intimate in size and has an abundance of amenities and activities for those that choose to participate. The residents and staff are kind and welcoming. Our mother has been in Allegro for a month and the community has certainly continued to please us. She loves her apartment and raves about the dining selections and quality of the food. The administration, with Erica Cohen at its helm, Angela, head of nursing services and Mary Adams, are all very accessible when we have had questions or concerns. The entire staff has been so helpful to assist in acclimating our mother to her new living arrangement and has made us all feel at ease. Our mother is happy! I called this doctor's office the beginning of December and made an appointment. When I told the…read morereceptionist I have Medicare qmb, she didn't know what it was. I told her to make a phone call to Medicare to find out what it is. I explained that I do not pay co-pays or deductibles. I also added that if you take Medicare, you have to take me as a patient. I've been on this many years it's for people who have financial problems. Instead of them calling Medicare, they had me come to the office and wait. Then they sat me in an office in the chair. I hear them whispering in the Next Room about me not paying the 20%. So I yelled, you should have called Medicare like you was supposed to find out. So the doctor comes in to me and says well, I'm going to have to talk to billing, I'm not going to see you today. So they instead of them calling Medicare, they made me come in when I have pain in my foot for nothing. When I questioned them on why they did not call Medicare and waited for me to come in for nothing? Their response was, Medicare doesn't pick up the phone for them. So I left the office very angry picked up the phone in my car right next to their office and spoke to Medicare. I told Medicare what happened. They gave me a phone number to call to complain about doctors committing fraud. It appears that if the doctor bills for the office visit after telling me they were not going to see me, that's considered fraud. He also told me that they're not allowed to turn me away if they accept Medicare . Medicare qmb look it up. That's what the doctor should have done she should have had her office. Should have made a phone call to Medicare or go online and read about Medicare qmb. Legally, they are not allowed to turn someone away if they accept Medicare. it's Medicare the original Medicare PPO with a program for people who have Financial issues. They were nasty they turned me away when I had pain in my foot. There's thousands of podiatrists in the area of Delray Beach Florida I didn't have to go through this. I'm outraged. The doctor comes in and says to me I want the 20%. What is it $20? So I left there in foot pain and didn't get to see a doctor today when I could have made an appointment with any other doctor. Terrible terrible customer service. Awful! do not go to this doctor. And be very careful what she bills.
