Shortly after the filler was placed, I sought evaluation from a nationally recognized injector and trainer who diagnosed malar edema and advised that the filler had been improperly placed. This was my first experience with tear trough filler or any filler. Since then, I have consulted numerous injectors, vein specialists, and oculoplastic surgeons, all of which is documented. Contrary to your statement, there is extensive published discussion within the aesthetic community regarding the long-term complications of tear trough filler, including persistent swelling, malar edema, Tyndall effect, migration, and filler remaining detectable years after injection. I visited their Huntington Beach location and had such a wonderful experience! The staff was friendly, welcoming, and professional. Because of that positive experience, I decided to purchase a Groupon and book another treatment at their Irvine location. Unfortunately, I couldn't have been more disappointed. My appointment was scheduled for 1:50 PM, and I live approximately 30 minutes away. At 1:30 PM, I called to let the receptionist know I was running five minutes late and would arrive at 1:55 PM. She told me that was completely fine. At 1:48 PM, they texted asking if I was on my way. I couldn't respond because I was driving. Shockingly, at 1:52 PM, they had already canceled my appointment, marked me as a no-show, and sent a message saying I would be charged 50% of the service! I arrived at exactly 1:55 PM, just as I had promised, only to find the door LOCKED. Nobody would answer or let me in. I called customer service, and even they couldn't reach anyone at the Irvine location. I stood outside waiting for approximately 30 minutes until an Uber delivery driver arrived. Suddenly, an employee opened the door to accept the delivery. When I approached her to explain what happened, she was incredibly rude and dismissive, saying she was on her lunch break and didn't want to talk to me. So apparently, they had time to open the door for an Uber delivery but couldn't take a moment to help a paying customer who had called ahead and arrived at the agreed-upon time? What makes this even more frustrating is that I genuinely liked SEV Laser after my experience at Huntington Beach. I was happy to support the company with my own money after initially being introduced through a PR collaboration. Unfortunately, the Irvine location completely ruined that impression. I understand businesses have cancellation policies, but customers should not be penalized after receiving verbal approval to arrive five minutes late. Otherwise, you may be quoted a different price, told about additional conditions that weren't mentioned online, or hear excuses like "every location has different promotions." Personally, I would avoid LaserAway altogether. However, if you still decide to visit because of one of their promotions, make sure you know exactly what treatment you want, what the advertised offer includes, and how much you're willing to pay. Be prepared for them to try to sell you treatment packages costing thousands of dollars or pressure you into purchasing an entire vial of Botox, even if you only came in for a specific promotion or a small amount of Botox.
