Something has changed. I have given a couple of 5 star reviews in the past but this experience was…read moredifferent. I brought my X3 in for a specific reason. It was diagnosed by a BMW dealer when it was in their shop for a factory recall. I received the normal online quote from Titan and I was a bit shocked because not only did it have the price for what it was brought in for it had a lot of other work as well. But they were suggestions and I understand upselling. What surprised me though was that the repair that it came in for was much higher than what I remembered the dealer quoted. So I had the dealer quote it again and they were 80 percent less than Titan. When I asked David about it he said if the repairs were apples to apples the dealer was giving me a great price. He lowered his price by three hundred dollars but he was still higher. So I decided to pick it up and take it to the dealer. The other thing that puzzled me is they charged me a $225 fee for inspection. Keep in mind that I told them what was wrong. I scanned the code and it confirmed the problem. That process took me all of 15 minutes to do. David assured me that the inspection charge was due to making sure that what I said was wrong was exactly what was wrong. He said they had closer to 3 hours into the inspection so he had to charge me for it. He lowered the cost to $200 but I don't believe I received any value for that. I drive 2 hours one way to come to Titan. I am bummed out that this happened. I have recommended them to others. My daughter takes her X6 from Arvada there for repairs. I'm not sure yet where I go from here. I'll take my car to the dealer tomorrow and see how it goes with them. After that I'm probably going to see who else is out there.

Went to Walmart auto the following day and was helped by a gentleman named "Buster" I may be wrong about the name. Dark haired fellow and got me scheduled for an appointment and explained clearly and completely that I could use Walmart's synthetic and would be $58. The young man "Dillion" was the tech with the oil change. Big, bright and friendly smile and I was immediately put to ease with Dillion's obvious knowledge and expertise. He was simply Great!! From greeting me, to the service and through the payment step. Awesome and seamless, bravo to you Dillion and you are doing an excellent job!!!!!

I purchased a can of AC refrigerant, the clerk put it in my car and now my AC blows HOT AIR. I drove around a while, thinking maybe it needed to cycle through the system...no such luck. Went back hoping to at least get my $40 back as I know his assistence was at my own risk. NOPE, no money back and the guy was kind of a jerk about it too. My wife's car needed a brake light assembly (which had been broken in parking lot recently- not her…read morefault BTW) With the cost of new parts, I thought I'd make a few calls and see if I could get a salvage part from another car. I called several "recyclers" and was quoted prices and given advice, but after giving the gal on the phone at American the specific year, model, make and the fact that this assembly was mounted on the quarter panel I was told that yes, they did have one and was quoted a price about 30% less than a new one. Excitedly I made the trip out (about 20 miles) to the outskirts of town and went into the office and repeated what it was I needed and that I'd called the day before and was told they had exactly what I needed. The gal did her computer thing and said, why yes, they did have it but that it wasn't exactly the same, probably wouldn't be an exact match and that it was from a vehicle one model year different than mine. I agreed to go and look at it and was taken out in the back of the large salvage yard and shown the part. It wasn't a match at all and my effort, gas and time was completely wasted. I'm not sure why a business would do this. I guess some folks would put a mismatched part on their car, but I think this is the worst kind of business practice (bait and switch?) and frankly discourages people from patronizing places like this. This kind of thing does get around, but maybe it doesn't matter to American Auto Recyclers. I recommend you avoid this place at all costs. You'll be much better off.
