The Best Car Service Ever!…read more Tieman Tire is like going back in time to Mayberry. I was rolling my wheel, with the leaking tire that could not be repaired, and carrying my good tire. A young man came along and asked if he could take over. He took both and got to work straight away. The first machine couldn't get the tire off, but he's a natural problem solver. So he tried another machine and that one worked. He swapped the wheels for me, and it was a relief to put that junky mini-spare back in the trunk. The guy at the counter was surprisingly erudite. We chatted about the United States bond market and the German economy! What a delight! So if you're within driving distance, go to Tieman Tire. This is the finest, good old boy, easy going service you will find anywhere! Compared to: The day before, I went to the tire department at the Walmart in Bloomington. It took them 2 hours and 20 minutes for them to figure out they could not patch my tire. On top of that, the mechanic walked past me, and gave my keys to the guy at the counter, without telling me he was done! They do this with all the customers! So it's a guessing game as to when my car is ready, or any customer's car is ready. And on top of that, he parked my Corolla behind * THE ONLY * shopping cart in the whole car park! Sure, it's not a big deal to back up, but it shows he gave zero consideration to the matter. All he had to do was park my Corolla in any other spot.

They were able to get my car in several days earlier than initially estimated, and I had it back in time for the weekend! They couldn't find anything wrong with the tire, and we hypothesized that I'd briefly gotten something stuck which had later dislodged itself. Lloyd listened to everything that I'd mentioned that I wanted done to my vehicle, and he addressed each item. Along with the tire inspection/road test I got an oil change, and part of my front bumper attached more flush to the car, all for a very reasonable price! They've also given me great recommendations for work that they themselves could not do on my vehicle (for example, an exhaust issue last year).

I called 10 minutes before close and spoke with an employee who promised to get back with me in the morning. I was called by Chuck, the owner, within an hour. He did not have the part in-stock, but was very willing to order one at about 1/2 the price of Midas. We discussed options and he referred me to a local shop to see if they could fix the rim without us buying a new one. Chuck took the time out of his evening to help us out and didn't make a dime. You helped ease the stress of college parents, and helped us save nearly $175.
