Food is prepared fresh, it's tasty and filling. Indeed among the best patty melts I have had anywhere in the nation. Fresh hand-made patties--cooked just right with a perfect amount of grilled onions. Homemade desserts too--the heath bar sheet cake was outstanding. You serve your own drinks--solid iced tea. My only complaint--they were out of tater tots and the crinkle fries were not consistently crisp. Lots of parking, for whatever you are driving.

As a northerner stepping into a Southern-style spot, I have to agree with another Yelp reviewer…read moreabout the sweet tea. It's not that true Southern sweet tea you hear legends about -- the kind that practically hugs your soul and spikes your dentist's anxiety -- but honestly, it's not bad at all if you're trying to watch your sugar. Consider it "Midwest sweet." Polite. Respectable. Not trying to put you into a sugar coma. Now let's talk food. My kiddos ordered the popcorn chicken and mini dogs -- and as any parent knows, the highest culinary honor is the empty plate. They ate every last bite. From my 5-year-old, that's basically a Michelin star review. My husband had the BBQ burger. When asked for a detailed description, I received his usual top-tier food critique vocabulary: "It was good." I ordered the BBQ bacon chicken with tots. The tater tots deserve their own moment -- perfectly crisp, not oily, and seasoned just right. The chicken itself leaned a little on the dry side, but the BBQ sauce definitely stepped in and saved the day. Overall? I'd definitely stop here again -- especially over chain restaurant which seem to be the only other commonly options in the next town over. This place feels like the better pick when you want something satisfying without the big-chain blah.

As soon as I walked into this place, a homeless and/or strung out man was sitting next to the door on the chairs. He was yelling and causing a scene. The staff didn't really do anything about it, they just pretended he wasn't there. As a paying customer this was unacceptable. If I would have had my family there it would have been a bigger deal because you never know how those type of people are going to behave. The food itself was very good, I had the big bad scramble and a biscuit with it. The scramble was very filling with great flavor, the only thing I would recommend is less onions, there were a lot in there. The biscuit was large and you can tell it was homemade. Very mixed feelings about this place, I would think twice about coming here if I was with my family. If they really cared about the paying customer they would make it a safer place to dine.

Traveling through a Little Rock for work, my group decided to grab breakfast before flying out. We came in due to the raving reviews from a multitude of online sources and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Root Benny and the blueberry muffin based on the host's recommendation. First cut into my poached egg and I already knew it was the start of a culinary journey. Absolute flavor and texture perfection. The seasonal greens (steamed kale?) paired so well with the greens and the crostini was the perfect vehicle for yolk dipping. The blueberry muffin was small but delicious--exactly what you should expect from a muffin. I wish I would've remembered to order the cookies to go. I suppose I'll have to come back.
