Horrible. Tried to cancel my ADT service because we have moved and sold the property and they want to charge us over 800.00 to cancel. Stay far away because they do not communicate the terms of the contract and will not let you cancel unless you resign at your new location. read more

Worst customer service if ever dealt with. After being in the phone with them for over two hours to cancel, finally get it cancelled to then revive a bill for another month of service. Called today and they never cancelled my service and have zero record of me trying to cancel. Absolute joke of a company. Avoid them like the plague at all costs. read more

Again, we need a 0 stars for businesses like this. We purchased our home from a previous ADT customer and so we decided we would go ahead and keep the service. They sent a technician out that sat on my couch most of the time that my husband and I were watching a movie and enjoyed the show. In between this he put up new sensors and a menu board, took down a camera, left all the packaging and old stuff laying on our floors and then left. He never explained it, taught us how to use it, cords were everywhere, the camera outside has to be plugged into our outlet 24/7. I called and requested he come back out and show us how the system worked I stay home all day every day... so when he said, "no one was there, no one came to the door" well I kinda lost my mind. Then they send him back out, again he says I'm not home -but this time my husband saw him parked in our neighborhood sitting in his car! He was chilling in his truck, at the end of my road. Finally the guy comes back, shows me how to work it, while he was here he made me feel so uncomfortable..... it just wasn't a good experience. By the way, ADT tried to charge me $20.00 more a month and when I called and told them how this guy made me feel, there was a woman who lowered my bill by $20.00 because he overcharged me. Thank goodness she was a plus at ADT. Fast forward 6 months and my grandsons are spending the night. We armed our system and I went to tuck them in and the window was wide open!! I panicked and ran to disarm the system then realized, why isn't our alarm going off? Called them 3 days ago and was told he didn't install a sensor in there and it would now cost me $50. For them to send it and me to install it. I told them no and to shut my account. To which they replied, "you owe us 2000. Today for cancellation" - you have to pay your contract off. I said let me get my credit card. Once they knew I was serious, then they said ok we will waive it. So they tell the technician to call me. She calls 3 days later and says the same thing, I need to pay $50. I explain I just went through this and they waived it. She says no and tries to get me to anyway again once I was getting my credit card, she waived it again. Are you seeing what is happening?!? Just trust me, you do not need this type of security. It's a hassle every time you call, they are always ready for you to pay for stuff, treated to can el the account and then they waive it. Honestly, you don't know if your house is protected or not, an alarm goes off but I've never had a cop show up or gotten a call from ADT. read more

Avoid ADT at all costs. Company misrepresentation is unbelievable. We canceled our service and was advised that our closing balance was $0.00. 30 days later we get an account past due notice and that we owe over $700 even though we left the equipment in place for the new home owners to have and use with ADT. Don't sign that paperwork, find another security company. ADT should be ashamed that they do this to people. read more

Listen, I write this because I dislike bad customer service. This is my first ever Yelp post. I don't think it'll be my last. This is how a company treats an existing wanna be continuing customer: I was an 11 year customer of ADT. I was excited to move to a new home and take ADT with me. We canceled service to our old home the week we moved to our new home. Unfortunately my mom passed away the day before ADT was set to install. Even under all that pressure I remembered to call and cancel the install while I was out of town. I've been out of pocket for weeks trying to handle mom's business, grieve, and still live so I haven't had a chance to reschedule. ADT proceeded to still charge me two months of service at my old location even though they knew I had cancelled the service at my old house. When I caught it, the call center manager told me that they still bill you 30 days after you cancel. I asked about the other month and she said "oh we prorated that and took it out of your installation fee." So I prepaid $100 for an install that I didn't get. And they took money out of my installation fee for two more months before I caught it. All this while they say sorry for your loss but...at least we gave you back the second month. So instead of $100 back I got about $50. Even during our time with them we were paying several months during one of their glitches and they weren't even monitoring my home. I'm finished with ADT.
